  1. When you're cooking bacon, make it in several small batches. That way when one batch is finished, you'll have bacon to eat while cooking more bacon.

  2. Actually, now that you've had your grimy hands all over it, you can just go ahead and keep my Eggo.

I'm there. Do I have this right: all we have to do is massage his Eggo and we get free waffles?

Is Eleven still a good halloween costume for tween girls?

  3. Went to the dentist today. Had a good check up. Then they put this fluoride coating on my teeth that hardens up like wax and flakes off. Now it tastes like I've been chewing on crayons all afternoon.

yeah, my dentist used the same thing for a few years, but recently he switched to a different concoction and it's basically like he never applied it (maybe he doesn't and just charges me for it)

Fluoride??? I wouldn't give that stuff to a dead dog!

But have ya ever walked somewhere carrying that little bag with the Crest ad on the side...And inside is some dental floss, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a card shaped like a tooth with your next appointment on it...And when someone sees it, they say, "Oh, Did you just come back from the dentist?" and you say ..."No"...?

  4. Drawing the Mona Lisa this afternoon. Leonardo has nothing to worry about.

I wonder if it's easier today for creative people to leave the big companies and strike out on their own. As an example, I'm thinking of Don Bluth and company setting up their own studio in the late 1970s.

You're welcome. It's always nice to hear from people who read them.

The frequency of them may slow down a bit, since I have some other projects requiring my attention. But I'm still hoping to knock out at least one or two games a week.

  16. So... if McDonald's is making their 1/4 Pounders with fresh beef, cooked when you order, why do they still serve them with stale, 3-hour-old heat-lamp french fries?

      Flojomojo

Making a new batch (I agree "fresh" is probably pushing it) seems reasonable if you're willing to wait and they aren't slammed.

I guess if they're busy, the turnover will make things hotter and crispier the way you want em.

Reminds me of "secret menu" items, which would be cruel to order if they're busy http://www.wideopeneats.com/mcdonalds-secret-menu/

I worked at a MeConalds in Joliet, IL when I was in my early 20's. The only guy who worked the fry machine during the day alwayas came in drunk. The store manager always had a can of yellow paint and a brush ready for him in case the health department came by. Mgt. would send the guy outside to paint the curbs.
