  1. Is that you CPUWIZ?!?! I have my multicart!! I did not know that you made. I bought it from someone at ebay auction in...maybe 2004 or 2005. I don't remember what year I bought, name seller, and price either. I don't know how many you made. I'm glad. I found you this forum!! You made 5 of 5 correct? I just read the posts. Last night I was planning to sell it at ebay. I have not post yet but I will do soon. And I have not tested it. I don't have Arcadia 2001 system. I sold it. I did not sell this multicart yet because I lost it in the past. I was cleaning up in the closet. I found it in the box at the closet. I was surprised. I thought I lost it or my friend borrow it. I am glad. I found it. Whew! Here is picture. Serial #2 !! BTW, 5-11under, good luck that you make multicarts! Nice Cart ! Maybe let the community know , im sure one of us would love to buy . I know I would I only recently acquired my Arcadia but im amazed it slipped under the raider . I have heard of the sytem but never seen one in the wild . I was pretty lucky to pick my one up just the other day .
  2. I have an AUstralian Arcadia 2001 , I would love one of these carts . Can you please put me down too . Cheers
  3. Hey mate , Just wondering if you still make the Vectrex multicarts ?

    Cheers

  4. I have done the same mod except I had to bump up the 22ohm resistor to 55ohm due to the top half of the screen tearing . I have a good stable picture the only thing is when the bright colourd graphics/sprites are against a black background the leave a dark band horizontally with the bright grahpic . This is a US version INTV and im using a step down converter because im in Australia . BTW I also had to leave the RF module connected due to no picture issue . Does anyone have any idea if this issue can be fixed ? Thanks for your help Karl
  5. What noticeable differences are there with the RAM upgrade ? Sounds like your really into your Coleco
  6. I wanted to add to the above post but site wouldnt let me edit ??? Just for some extra info to reverse engineer the SECAM adaptation back to the orignal PAL board I had to resolder some cut traces and remove wiring on the back of the board . The crystal was also removed due to the SECAM RF video . Strange thing is they were done post factory on PAL INTV's . There are resistors and caps that are clearly cut . I guess there wasnt enough demand for the Mattel factory to make SECAM INTV's .
  7. Heh....dig the Atari XE game in yer avatar. I too was suckered by Atari one last time and bought onna those. What was I thinking.... Anyway....the video garbage was prolly not related to the input buffer(s) going south. I'd check the pwr switch first, then the output voltages of the pwr supply. I've seen several just over the last couple weeks that were putting out wrong voltages. One had a 5v output that was close to 9v. This is baaaad for your board.... Haha , Actually I think apart from its ugliness and brief history , IMO is the best Atari I have . It plays the old Atari 800 carts and all the games are better in every aspect compared to the 2600 . Its an 8 bit console and top of the range in Atari console in the 80's . Unfortunately it had an Identity crisis and was marketed bad and too late anyway as Nintendo started to dominated . The XE is very rare here in Australia and I think I bought the last 3 on ebay a year ago and havent seen any since lol . Thanks for the tip on power , I will check all the voltages and give the power button an overhaul . But last night it played beautifully and for some reason NO display issues
  8. Ok just to update : I have found the right 8.86Mhz Crystal and it didnt work . So I put in a standard 4.43Mhz which is usually used here in AUSTRALIA for PAL . and it worked !! I wasnt too sure what size at first as the only SCematics I could find was for a US version .US INTV has a 7.15MHz Crystal which led me to believe the equivelant in PAL . These are the components I had missing : This is the SECAM board I removed which has the RF : This is the AV mod I used from GAMEX : This is the result : Thanks for replying BTW , appreciate your help .
  9. Thanks 5-11 and Yurkie , I swapped the IC's out for a new pair and its working flawlessly now . Thanks again , really appreciate it
  10. Yes, but very little in the way of sprite animation variation and size in comparison. Mario is like half the size of Popeye. And you're already using multicolors on the in motion Bluto, Oliver, and then the backgrounds as well. True , I think its Olive-oil thou Are they your own screen shots ?
  11. What about Mario in DK , He has more than one colour ?
  12. The white band seems a little strange, but the on/off switch is a good first option. Do you know how to de-solder? I have an SMD solder station with the heatgun . I usually give it a little heat before I bump it up to 320c and the chips comes of perfectly .
  13. Thanks Guys , Was was wondering if it was a controller chip . Looking at your PDF now 5-11 EDIT: I like the sockets makes things easier for the future . I will get a couple of those chips and sockets on way home . What about the picture going strange on me all of a sudden , you think its related ? or maybe the ON/OFF switch is buggered from me switching so much trying to work out the controller problem ?
  14. Hi Everyone , I have had my coleco for about a year now and have done the AV mod on it and things have worked pretty sweet till now . I fired her up yesterday and I have an Atarimax Cart in it , Normally the games list screen comes and and waits for you to select a game . For some reason all by itself without me touching anything it hits the grey side buttons on the controller (not physically off course:) ) and selects the first game , then it hangs at the title screen and wont go further as It wont let me press start (Grey Side buttons) !! Thinking it was odd I thought I just put Donkey Kong Cart in and see what a single game cart wil do . So the game comes up I select 1 player and first thing that happens Mario does a single jump and then thats it . I can move him around but the jump button is unresponsive (Grey side button) Thinking it may be the controller I pulled both controllers out and it still does it . The only thing I done differently when I got this problem is fiddling with the controllers as I have a couple spares so I changed the boards and spring to make 1 good controller , which I have done before btw . Dont think this is related anyway but I thought I mention it . So now after leaving it for a couple of hours and tried turning on again it still does the same thing but now I get a B&W picture and it jumps around and has a white band moving downwards . You think the both of these issues maybe related ? This is very weird and seems like my Coleco is suffering some sort of slow death ?? Does anyone have any ideas ? I will open her up tonight and see if I can see anything obvious , but I have very limited electronics knowledge . Any input would be greatly appreciated . BTW I should mention its a PAL version
  15. Can a Moderator please delete this thread so I can post links to the source of the above topic . Cheers
  16. Thanks for your reply , but unfortunately that is one I have already looked at . Good link for the actual composite or RGB AV mod thou which I have actually used and works well . I was hoping for a clear picture so I could work out the resistors that are connected to the crystal for the PAL video . As my motherboard was actually modded for a SECAM RF frequency , so I have been reverse engineering the board to bring it back to its orignal PAL state (the SECAM was just an adaptation to the standard PAL board) . So far I have managed to get a nice B&W picture with the AV mod you have linked above but no colour as yet due to crystal and resistors needed (these have been removed to creat the SECAM signal) . Thanks to the guys at AUSSIE ARCADE I have managed to almost complete the AV mod and the missing components . I will post back later with pictures of the PAL INTELLIVISION AV MOD and screen shots . Here is the thread over at Aussie Arcade : Need some help to do AV mod on SECAM PAL Intellivision The above link is not working due to me using same pics in both threads . Just go to AUSSIE ARCADE (the link above) and look for the "Need some help to do AV mod on SECAM PAL Intellivision" thread .
  17. I have a SECAM PAL Intellivision . I have removed the SECAM adaptation to the motherboard and added composite AV . I also have an issue with colour but I have a few components missing as a result of the previous SECAM . One of the components missing is the 8.86Mhz Crystal . I have a Perfect B&W picture but no colour . Did you manage to solve your issue with the crystal ?? I cant find a single 8.86Mhz crystal so I will use 2 x 4.43Mhz in parallel . I will report back and let you know how it went .
  18. I need some info off a PAL Intellivision motherboard to complete my AV mod , as I am missing components and need to find out what they are ? If anyone here has a PAL INTV Service Manual or clear pictures of the populated PAL motherboard or Schematic/parts list , I would be SUPER GREATFUL !!! I cannot find any info on these PAL mother boards anywhere . BTW: NTSC & PAL differ greatly !!
  19. I remember Baseball being a fun 2 player game . Mousetrap is awesome on the Colecovision . I think River Raid on Coleco is the best version too .
  20. Hi Everyone , I have seen alot of AV mod tutorials for the US version Intellivision 1's not havent come across anyithing for a SECAM french version . It has an RF PCB completely seperate to the main board . Here are some pictures , and If at all possible can anyone give me any pointers as to where to start . I guess what im asking is where to take the Video and Audio from ? The Video amplifier I can build no probs . Main board front Back of main board RF PCB Cheers for any help in advance :-)
  21. Hey that sounds reassuring . I have just bought a french SECAM Intellivision . Im in Australia and we use the same PAL format you do in England . It has the standard RF , Will I be able to just plug that straight in and get it to work , or will I need to do the RGB mod ? Cheers
  22. Yeah me too . I originaly swapped with a panasonic plazma as the refreshrate was too high and my Amiga didnt play happy . So I took it down to the shop and tested all there TV,s till I found this one . I was annoyed at first coz i wasnt used to the LCD being so crisp and almost fake looking . But all worked out in the end
