  1. I've bought two on ebay for under $50 in the last year with memory cards and stuff, keep a look out there. Some want over $100 for just the main unit... You do know that these are ms-dos based and not an Atari OS?
  2. Are the VBXE boards still available?
  3. That brings back some memories when I typed in those 4 to 8 page listings from Compute, Antic, Analog and other sources. I must have over (20) 90 Minute tapes with all of that stuff saved. I can remember some times, after getting close to the end and having the power get interrupted or accidentally turning off the power and having to type all of it in again... After a few times of that, I started saving every 10 minutes
  4. Maybe MSDos 1.0 would work Shoot, the Atari Portfolio has 128k of memory and uses DIP Dos 2.11...
  5. Yep, the black box was his new baby... I'll have to give him a call one of these days after 17 years Good chat
  6. Go for it, I see someone else has placed a bid on it since I brought it up
  7. I've seen a few on ebay, even together...
  8. Did the "round thingy" that touches the floppy, (when you close the latch) freeze? take the cover off and try moving it with your fingers...
  9. Then we have probably met then... I was in the same user group till '92, before I got an assignment to Germany. He and I were also stationed on Guam in Civil Engineering... Is he on AA??? About Me Jay
  10. Larry Catalino? He had two when I bought his spare. He's now head of the Dover AFB Computer Network Center... When were you in Dover?
  11. Okay, cool... I bought an ATR8000 (64k) from a friend in Dover, DE back in '92 for $100, but hadn't heard of anyone with the co-88... Was thinking of buying the one on ebay @ $135 for a backup, but maybe not now? Saw a plain ATR8000 on ebay a few months back go for $50 (BIN), but that had a fan mounted on top. I hesitated and someone jumped on it first... Thanks...
  12. What does an ATR-8000 w/Co-Power-88 (128k) go for these days??? Found one for sale...
  13. I was hoping to find what they are worth, not what someone's asking price is $100 to $150? I've seen a few ATR1000's on ebay go for as low as $50 to $100...
  14. The Atari Assembler Editor is what I used to learn 6502 programming back in '83-84. It's a bit slow on compiling, but it gets the job done With it, I was able to make a S.A.M. handler and a talking terminal, maybe the first? Guys in the Guam Atari User Group liked it... The Boot Camp series was a good learning aid for the beginner to intermediate user.
  15. Radio Modem - lets users use their Atari computers to talk to each other. Kind of like a teleprinter, but uses a computer to read/generate the text. Thats what I think it is, anyway I want that sweet Atari 810 dust cover!!! Kinda, the kantronics cart uses the kantronics "Interface I" or "Interface II" to send & receive Radio Teletype and Morse Code with Ham Radios... The OS mod looks interesting
  16. This is a variation of "The Pill"... After a cart has been copied, you plug in this dummy cart and run the program created by the cart copier. This program will tell you to flip the switch, when you do, the image of the cart will run I've made such a program back in '84...
  17. SmartDos 8.2d is what I included in post #24
  18. Yep, had to re-flash with v2.5 firmware myself, v3.0rc5 would not boot on my 800...
  19. Okay, try Top-DOS 1.5a. All files are in tact... Boots on my 800 and 800xl using SIO2SD v2.5 firmware Top-DOS 1.5a (1985)(R.K.Bennett).atr
  20. $78.20 Sent by PalPal for 2x 4Mbit SIC!Carts
  21. No, I just copied the floppy to an atr. I'll check the floppy out...
  22. Check out this version of TopDOS, not sure which version. Also added two SmartDOS copies... TopDos01.ATR SmartDos01.ATR SmartDos-OmniMon01.ATR
