  1. PSA: the correct short form of "St. Patrick's Day" is "St. Paddy's Day," not, "St. Patty's Day."

Calling it Amateur Night is also acceptable, because if you a) need an excuse to drink and/or b) deliberately dye your drinks, you're doing it wrong.

That's it. Because of that attitude, I'm setting up a checkpoint where I can search your car specifically and give it a quick valet.

(Daughter lives a 10 minute walk from the terminal and is one eight Irish - her great grandad was Irish).

Holyhead's actually not a bad place in my book.  Anglesey outside of it is much different (in a good way), but the ferries really do dominate life in the town.

Remind me to tell you some time about the loaner car my mechanic instructed me to abandon at the railway station.

When I was a kid, it was a bustling town. Then they built the out of town stores like Tesco, which destroyed the town centre before Amazon got to it. Same thing happened to Bangor. It was really sad going in there the other day for the first time in months and noticing how many stores were empty. That used to be a really busy place. Now, it's a ghost town.
