Who has angered the volcano god?

Very much an Oingo Boingo Christmas Eve this year.

Did you know that Reptiles and Samurai is about the instincts Vs the brain, both fighting inside the singer's head? And the part where he says "your face is young and shiny" represents love.
I discovered them in 2005 thanks to a live Pictures of You cover by Mr Bungle I downloaded in mp3.
Mr Bungle is a much weirder band, but they also played good ska:

I am hopelessly addicted to Robomechanik and hope for a full release soon.

Now taking bets on when the first status update involving playing a game on and/or modifying a Fauxtari VCS happens.
Also taking bets on first taco reference in reply to that post.

One of the advantages of being old and boring is knowing which bears you should and should not poke with sticks.

Say... Would you like a chocolate-covered pretzel? They're a little melty, but my are they exquisite!

I'm jealous - we never got a theatrical release of it. Only way I knew anything about it was from having seen a screening of Clerks a year or so prior at the Irish Film Centre, and recognised Kevin Smith's name when I picked up the VHS box at the video rental store.
And yep, it's a great movie. Very much in the vein of a lot of John Hughes' good films.

It's high time I had a Subaru Brat in my life again.

@CPUWIZ: funny you should mention that. I dated a goth chick for a bit when I had my first Brat.
Note the 'a bit' part; there was a significant relationship upgrade from her while I owned that same vehicle. And that's nothing against goth chicks; that particular one just... Yeah.

It was 27°F and cold outside when I started my day. Now it's 45°F and it's like sitting on a tropical beach by comparison. Amazing how quickly we adapt.

@CPUWIZ: Yep, we've got everything on camera, so am not too concerned. However, we did have one local set of thieves who were caught on video walking up onto someone's porch, taking packages, then noticing the cameras and debating whether they should put them back or not. Finally, one of them (looking straight into the camera) says, "nah, these cameras are fake," and they all leave, taking the packages with them.
The arrest was made within a couple of hours of the homeowner getting the video to the police.
BTW: on the mailbox, I stuck a Z-Wave motion sensor in there and just have it send our phones a text message when the lid is opened. Works great, and our cellco's email-to-SMS gateway works perfectly for this application. I had thought about doing a camera as well, but didn't want to lose the space in the mailbox.

@Cebus Capucinis: my cheque for $1.5B is winging its way towards you as we speak. You'll know it when it gets there; it's printed on a basketball.

The 7800 is hooked up to a CRT for the first time in over a decade, and I have to say that it actually looks pretty damn good on that TV and certainly miles better than it did on either our LCD or plasma. Huge thanks to @KeeperofLindblum for passing the TV on to me; now I can finally start in on the 'does-it-work-or-not' 5200.

On the first day of my summer vacation, I went downtown. To look for a job. Then I hung out in front of the drug store.
On the second day of my summer vacation, I went downtown. To look for a job. Then I hung out in front of the drug store.
On the third day of my summer vacation, I went downtown. To look for a job. Then I got a job. Keeping people from hanging out in front of the drug store.

Somewhere, there's a corral with its gate left open... And they all came here to run amok.

All you zombies, hide your faces
All you people in the street
All you sittin' in high places
The pieces gonna fall on youSongs I haven't heard in years that just came in on our local pirate station. ❤️

It looks like this song appeared both in the first and second album of the band. I just listened to the first album (where Zombies has a more rock-reggae feel) and it was surprisingly good. 80s new wave with touches of reggae and an epic Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds cover.
The only thing that feels odd to me is the voice, that sounds too "artificial" or "pop" for that band.

In the year 2000, I was sitting in the Chinese takeaway a couple blocks over from work and killing time while I waited for my order by playing a game on their Ms. Pac-Man cocktail. While I was playing the game, a lady and her roughly 9-year-old daughter walked over, and, as I completed a maze, the lady made a comment to the effect of, "gee, you're pretty good at this game." My response was along the lines of, "I'd hope so; I've only been playing it for nineteen years."
Next year will be the 40th anniversary of Ms. Pac-Man hitting the scene. Amusing to reflect back on that.

Early Christmas bonus: I'm finally going to be able to clean out and bring the contents back from the storage unit that has been between 3000 and 1500 miles away from me for the past 12 years, depending on where I've lived.
Won't have everything back until January, but it will bring home the 600XL, 800XL, 1200XL, Super Pong, Video Pinball, Lisa 2, a couple of BeBoxen, and other things I'm not remembering but that are in there.

The stuff you don't remember - that's fun! It's a like a treasure hunt. And it's always good. Good good good..to clean out storage.
I once had a 10x10 storage room. And just a month or three before it was broken into I had cleaned everything out. Amazing luck since we had kept it for a good number of years.

It appears as though the Subwoofer Family next door have married into the Harley-with-stupidly-loud-exhaust family. The combination of THUMP-THUMP-THUMP and BLAT-BLAT-BLAT has only been around for two days, but it's already old.

My gf and I were both finding ourselves waking up at precisely 5:41 am for weeks on end.
The woman across the street was apparently dating a Harley guy who worked way, way, way too early.
It has made me consider opening a business, the Involuntary Muffler Shoppe. Not sure how this business plan would come together, but apart from the profitability issue and various legal questions (sort of like a Repo business in that we'd sneak around installing mufflers on vehicles that desperately need them in our humble opinion)... I want it to happen.

Dealt with my fair share of asshole neighbours exactly the same. Tried telling them straight it never worked, just made things worse. Now i just get the missus on the phone to the police. If i ring they will never come but if she rings saying she feels intimidated and suspects they're drug dealers then the police come everytime. Haven't had to deal with crappy neighbours for awhile now. I figured people like that into that sort of lifestyle don't really want police on their door step everyday. And with persistence, sure enough it has driven them out. Good luck i know the feeling

Waking up to a power outage and finding out that the UPSes are handling things just fine is nice, but not stepping in surprise cat barf in the dark is even better.

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky... it's Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)
