Then one said that those games were for small kids and he was an ace in Call of Duty. Then the guy pulled out a 50 euro note and told the kid "I'll give you 10 credits (5 euro). If you manage to finish the first stage of this game, the 50 euro note is yours''. He put it under the ashtray and kid started to play. He couldn't even maje it past the red gargoyle and when he managed to pass him on his final credit, he fell on the bridge and died as he had no clue what was next. No money won and his friends were laughing at him when they left.

Their priority should be sites that distribute Wii U, 3DS and Switch games. Downloading Zelda BOTW, Smash, Mario Kart, Pokemon or Samus Returns does far more financial damage than some 20+ year old NES or Gamecube game

You have a point. Another thing to notice is that in the early 80s video game marketing did target the whole family, including both boys and girls. Even the computer tech industry had far more women as employees compared to today. After the crash majority of video game companies focused on boys and male teenagers for the most part, including even Nintendo. This had disastrous consequences from which video games struggle to recuperate even today.

I prefer Romcenter. Much easier to use. Saw ROM numbers twindle with each MAME version and never bothered. Had 17 year old ROM sets. Forgot they even existed. Now ROMs increased a few hundreds.

Neither on consoles or computers Unfortunately cover art does not have as much influence as in previous decades. I mean regarding photorealistic covers, you see exactly the same figure as in the game, eg Far Cry 3 & 4 Since you mentioned mostly cartoon art there are few exceptions too. Also there are still differences between the Japanese and the International version in some games. Still saddening compare this: to this....a travesty at least the Japanese version was closer to the original Or this, resembling the classic cover in colors to this One cover I liked though was this. At least Nintendo are more considerate most of the times

I remember reaching world 8 for the first time in Super Mario 3. Without warpzones. Took me hours and hours. One part was so frustrating that I jumped myself holding the controller up. Controller cable lifts the console, console falls down and resets. All the progress gone.I gaze at the TV for a while speechless, then I say "Dont mind, I'll play it next time". I threw the controller only once, but it was in a 2 player match in NBA Live 95 (MS-DOS). I used to win by 20 points but in the end lost by 20 points. I was frustrated with video games, but it usually ends pressing buttons furiously, never throwing the controller. But this hasnt happened for a few years now.

One game I regret not having played back then was The Battle of Olympus. Would have enjoyed more than Zelda 2 probably. Also Faxanadu comes to mind

are you installing the games on a hard drive other than C:\? Some games have issues or dont run at all. Try moving or installing those games, including all source games, on the main hdd

Surprised Disney and Capcom did not send a C&D for the non-free Android version and Amazon has this game officially listed. I'll try the PC version
