  1. That is kind of cool; keep us posted if you actually find a way.
  2. Thanks guys. I'm still open to more suggestions.
  3. Hi. I just recently got a 2600 system and while it did come with an archer, I could not use it on the TV that I have. So, are there other game/tv switches that could work with different types of TV sets, or ones that can go into composite sites? It is sort of driving me nuts.
  4. I vaguely remember contests of this sort (was born in 1983 but actually remembers when the Soviet Union existed).
  5. Thanks. The emulator was a little tricky but I eventually got it to work. Can't seem to utilize Eclipse/WUDSN properly, though (it recognizes the code just fine, but I can't compile and run it from the "workspace").
  6. I was thinking about starting a new thread on my present question, but I already have this one, so I may as well conserve other people's cyberspace. For some reason, the assembler/compiler programs of 5200 code do not work on my computer, which uses Vista. I suspect that it is an incompatibility issue. Does anyone know of any programs that would work with Vista?
  7. I now understand that it is no different to making 2600 games. This answers most of my previous questions.
  8. Hi. I am interested in making an Atari 5200 game in 6502 Assembly code. How should I go about doing so, as in: -What assembler/compiler would be the most optimal to use? -How could one create a ROM or BIN from a compiled game? -What emulators are used to play 5200 games? -How does one transfer a BIN image to an actually 5200 cartridge? And additionally, are there any source code files for 5200 games? Thank you.
  9. The Genesis 3 model is a really neat thingy to have; I got one from eBay back in 2003. Do you know that it is region-free? Can't use add-ons such as the 32x, though.
  10. I think that he went away from the company because Capcom never seemed to respect Inafune's wants and demands for the Megaman series. For instance, the X series was supposed to end at X5, but Capcom decided that three more were necessary; this completely obliterated Inafune's constructed storyline. Megaman Zero was also supposed to have the original X as the main villian, but Capcom didn't want that, so it was changed.
  11. Well I do know that my command prompt is oriented around my user drive, instead of the C: directory. I've tried to amend this but I failed.
  12. I've tried running both on my laptop (which has Vista as it's OS) and they both quickly bring up a window with speeding text that closes itself after one or two seconds. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there anything reasonable that I can do about it?
  13. Do the rest of you get the notion that the video games that are contemporary suck these days? I seriously look at the games available for the PS3 and the like and I am not impressed; I don't feel like getting a current-generation system at all. It seems as if the only decent games that get made are for the handheld systems. Not to mention that everyone seems to hate the 14th installation of Final Fantasy; that, and everything seems so "Western" oriented now. It is like everyone just focuses on the graphics, and whatnot.
  14. This kind of reminds me when I played that crappy Sonic port on the Game.com. But I'm sure that you'll do better than that.
  15. Are there any consoles in the former Soviet Union that were modeled after the Atari systems? I know that they had an NES-clone called "Dendy."
  16. I'm personally under the impression that the DS has done a lot better on the market than the PSP, although I am starting to notice that the games for the PSP seem somewhat more interesting.
  17. I was wondering how one could go about making games for the 5200 system, which to me seems neater than the 2600. Is it the same as programming for the 2600, or is it significantly different? How could one get started?
  18. SEGA has turned into a pile of shit over the past decade.
  19. I've been to that site! It is really nice; kind of reminds me of the fansites that were once commonplace in the late 90s/early 00s.
  20. Or ex SEGA marketing people. I swear, what killed SEGA was its lack of awareness for what people really wanted.
  21. Is there anyone else here that likes this game? I actually think that it is one of the best computer games ever made. It kind of defies all of the standard genres.
