  1. Also need to consider what running from a CC2 might do to this whole mess.
  2. Ram contents the same on DevOS modd'd 7800s ?
  3. I've been told once that there are four characters in the Atari ST character set that, when arranged properly, form the head of J.R. "Bob" Dobbs of "Church of the Subgenius" fame. At one point I recall seeing this in a printed manual. I've tried to search for references to this online, via google and whatnot, but have been unable to find anything. Does anyone have any better references? A dump of the font? Or am I misremembering this?
  4. There are multiple groups working on this sort of thing. See also http://sourceforge.net/projects/fpga2600/ . This project currently has working VHDL for the RIOT, and is working (albeit slowly) on the TIA. It is assumed one of the open source 6502 cores will work well enough. See also http://cuddlepuddle.org/~adam/PICT0013.JPG and http://cuddlepuddle.org/~adam/PICT0014.JPG I've been slow to get the TIA done. I started with an asynchronous design (hey, I'm new at this), which I think I'll wind up scraping. That, and I have a real life and a day job.
  5. Nice work. Is VHDL source code available?
  6. http://www.atariage.com/2600/archives/schematics/
  7. I got mine at Best Electronics. I had no troubles disassembling the case and installing the POKEY. Everything fit back together just fine when I was done.
  8. I loaded about 2,700 atari 2600 rom images onto my card. It didn't seem to have any trouble scrolling through them. I keep wishing for a "tree" interface where I can expand and collapse branches instead of the "list" interface, but I tend to be a bit of a power user, and I can see how generating and managing the configuration file for that sort of an interface would be painful for most users. Overall, it is an excellent product. Chad did a great job.
  9. When I was young, the rumor flew that in "Night Driver", it was somehow possible to get between the barriers and go offroading. Knowing what I know now, I suspect this is highly unlikely, but still, I gotta ask... Is there any truth to that rumor, or was it all just young kids telling stories?
  10. Well it's not that they're "hidden", it's just that there's copyright issues. ... I suppose you could just put the rom out there and hope you don't get sued, but there's always some bitter person out there who would turn you in. This is why so many games are unreleased. Tempest Any copyright experts know how long after publication the copyright extends? 17 years?

    Completists?

How many people out there have and actively maintain large binary collections? By large I mean 1500+

    Ebivision?

Where can I buy Ebivision titles?

Overdumps are easy to spot, but things like random data read from superchip RAM write areas are a lot more difficult. The problem is on par with autodetecting the banking scheme used in an image. I'm pretty sure we've discussed this on the stella biglist before.
  14. URL please? I'd like to see this list.
  15. Dunno what this says about authenticity, but... Both the TURBO.BIN binary and the Smurfs - Rescue in Gargamel's Castle (1982) (Coleco).bin binary (md5sum 3d1e83afdb4265fa2fb84819c9cfd39c) are 8K, and the last 4K are identiical. If it is a hoax, someone went through some odd contortions to get the two binaries to match up like that.
