  1. Those are not variations. It's just part of the printing process.
  2. eBay has a few bugs lately. When you buy a BIN item it will show the date the listing would have ended. Also when I increase my bid I get an email that I got outbid by myself.
  3. The question is how sustainable those prices are. Take the game from your avatar for example. Tutankham sold for $1,136 in 2012 (http://www.intellivisionrevolution.com/entries/intellivision-auction/sealed-intellivision-tutankham-sells-for-1-136) and the price has taken a huge hit since then.
  4. The hard reality is that more than 10 CIB copies have been sold in the last 3 years. That doesn't really make me feel comfortable to pay $1,000+ for a game that still pops up frequently.
  5. You may not go to bed while this is still under debate.
  6. It's at least the second Spiker this year. IntellivisionDude got one. And I think I've seen a third one recently. And it's not even half-time of this year.
  7. It is absolutely relevant. If you only collect for one console with a rather small library it doesn't stress your budget as much as if you collect for all classic consoles and home computers. Personally I've postponed the purchase of Spiker until there is nothing left that I'd rather buy with the money. And even then I'd have to think twice if the desirability is big enough for me to warrant the price.
  8. Why that? There is still so much other stuff that I'd buy with $1,000+ before I'd consider to buy a Spiker for that much money. There are $1,000 Atari games were I'd hit BIN in a heartbeat, but those are games I'm looking for since a few years. As an Atari collector I know what it means to wait. Spiker on the other hand pops up every now and then.
  9. Nice website and collection, but I see a typical symptom of Intellivision collectors: HOARDING. Multiple copies of everything, especially the homebrews.
  10. 99% of your posts are also in the Intellivision forum. None of you guys really take an external point of view. The copy hasn't even been listed yet, but the price is already being hyped up. And everyone is waiting for the winner to be celebrated. The price is not warranted at all. There are way too many copies in collections and still being found.
  11. Jason, you are one of those guys who only hangs around in the Intellivision forum.
  12. The most frequent posters in the Intellivision forum don't post in other forums here much nor have I ever seen any Intellivision collection here as part of a large video game collection. Feel free to prove me wrong. How many in the 125 club have an impressive collection for at least one other system? http://www.intellivisionrevolution.com/the-125-club There are several CIB copies of Spiker for sale every year and that makes it an R7, if you compare it to the 2600. There is no R8, R9 or R10 for the Intellivision. And a R7 doesn't warrant $1,000+
  13. Let's say it's the holy grail of a small subculture. Inside this subculture the social state is defined by having "platinum status". I don't know any other system where the collectors are as much influenced by others than the Intellivision. Also most Intellivision collectors don't collect for other systems so it's really an isolated subculture. So there are mostly subjective reasons for the high price, objective it's not a rare game.
  14. Spiker. It's not really that rare. Similar rare Atari games cost about $200. And there are more Atari than Intellivision collectors. The only reason why it's so expensive is that the Intellivision library is rather small and there are still enough collectors that want a complete collection to brag about "platinum" status. Expect the price to take a huge nose dive. The game doesn't hold any intrinsic value, totally hyped up.
  15. If you compare the rarity and price to similar Atari games it should be no more than $200.
  16. Box is the international edition. Only difference is the sticker.
  17. I've bought a German variation of Happy Trails which has a sticker from the German distributor (Ariola) and is called "Ein Fall für den Sheriff" (A case for the sheriff). Should this be considered a variation and added to the INTV Funhouse site?
  18. I've bought a German variation of Intellivision Happy Trails which has a sticker from the German distributor (Ariola) and is called "Ein Fall für den Sheriff" (A case for the sheriff). Interestingly there is also a sticker for the Atari on the box. And to make it even more confusing the Atari sticker says CommaVid. Was Happy Trails ever planned for the Atari?
  19. Just got another two games crushed in an envelope, even though I asked both sellers to ship in a box. One was a $60 game. So unfortunately they only learn it the hard way. Negative feedback and money back from PayPal.
  20. Poor Steve, nobody wanted to buy his prototype :-(
  21. No disrespect, but that box is not in a "good" or "very good" condition.

    Peek-A-Boo

Does any other kind of prototype of Peek-A-Boo exist than the Best Electronics? Has a lab loaner been found? When was the ROM first discovered? Before Best sold the copies? In which form did Best find the proto, lab loaner, EPROM, file on disk?
  23. I only leave negative or 5 star feedback for those who really deserve it. Some sellers quickly and friendly answer all messages, pack everything well and ship the same or next day. All other sellers that were just "ok" (no answer, slow shipping, poorly packed but not damaged, slightly excessive shipping) can be glad that I don't bother to leave feedback, but they also don't get a positive feedback for an average job. I'm rather surprised about the inflationary positive feedback and detailed rating most sellers have. I don't see how a seller who ships for free the same day has 5 stars and a seller that charges $9.97 per game and take several days to ship has 4.8 or 4.9.
  24. I'd say 95% of all purchases are without a problem. The biggest annoyance are poorly packed and damaged games. I could post a ton of pictures where you'd cry. I know from other collectors that they also have to return damaged games frequently.
