It happens sometimes. In fact, I think it's somewhat common on one or two levels. I know it's happened to me a number of times in what I think was the same place each time. I never thought it was a miracle. Just a regular occurrence in the game.

I've actually got 7800 Dig Dug coming. I don't think it's going to dethrone Commando, but I loved playing the arcade version. I broke the joystick on the same cabinet twice

A warning about adding rubber feet to your 3DS...
Chuplayer replied to Animan's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
To be fair, the problem only occurs when you're using the product as intended. Total junk. I almost got one close enough to the price drop to get the 20 free games plus a price adjustment, but now I'm really glad I got an old PC Engine instead. I was glad before, but I hadn't heard of this problem before. -
Commando is my #1 favorite 7800 game. It's the main reason I got back into Atari after many years of having nothing but broken down controllers.

A warning about adding rubber feet to your 3DS...
Chuplayer replied to Animan's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
What? How does a design flaw that bad make it past the development stage? Heck, that's the type of mistake they should have already put measures into place to avoid all the way back on the original fat DS. First, they absolutely botch the 3DS as a system. Then, they botch the system's identity by making the marquee games N64 ports. Now, they go ahead and do this. The more I think about it, the more Nintendo is becoming a joke. Don't even get me started on the extra AAA battery-powered analog nub that is probably going to make reaching the A/B/X/Y buttons an absolute chore. I want the late 90s Nintendo back. -
Glasses for PSP? Anyone ever try these?
Chuplayer replied to SoundGammon's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
I don't think these glasses are made for the PSP. The list of supported devices only has iPod stuff on it. -
I was all set to take a bunch of pictures of Madalaine and some ice cream because she beat me at video games, but then I found out that I no longer had any ice cream! But I did find something else she likes... Chu: I'm sorry, Madalaine. I don't have any ice cream for you! But I did find some Jello! Madalaine: Yay! It's my favorite flavor, too. Thanks, Daddy. Madalaine: I'm so happy that I get to share some Jello with Daddy. Make sure you leave me my share! I did beat you, after all. Chu: I'm sure you'll be full long before I'm done. Madalaine: Thank you, Daddy. I'm so full. Chu: You're welcome, Madalaine.

I like the graphics on Sega Rally Revo, but the car handling is awful. The cars slide like they were on ice or oil slick. Use first person mode. It's unplayable any other way, and it becomes awesome when you switch to first person mode.

As the guy who turned down talking to a girl to play Galaga at an arcade... You should've played the proverbial Galaga machine. But I guess the console itself isn't bad.

Whats the deal with the N64 Conker's Bad Fur Day
Chuplayer replied to GonzoGamer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Can't imagine why. The game's (almost literally) a load of crap. There's a reason the demo for the XBOX version used one of the shooter levels. The entire first 3/4 of the game is crap. -
Madalaine: Daddy! It's the third period, and I'm up by two! I'm going to beat you! Chu: We'll see about that! Madalaine: You're so mean, Daddy! Chu: Just do your best, sweetie. Madalaine: No! You've tied the game! I've got to score another goal to win! Chu: You can do it, Madalaine. Madalaine: Yes! I get a penalty shot! Is it... It's good! Madalaine: That's it! Time's up! I win! 4 to 3! I finally beat you, Daddy! Chu: Congratulations, Madalaine! I knew you could do it. Madalaine: Can I have a victory ice cream now, Daddy? Chu: Eh... best two out of three. Madalaine: Daddy!

Most impressive pre-crash arcade translation... ?
Chuplayer replied to save2600's topic in Atari 2600
Warlords. The arcade version had a lot more going on, but what was there on the 2600 was golden. -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6au52gC94E Finally did a new video. This time it's an old Saturn favorite of mine, but I demonstrate the original arcade version instead. -

A new Pinball Hall of Fame release is in the works for 2012

If they get Stargate, my life will be complete. -
There actually was a Streets of Rage 3... Anyway, I forget if it was for the DC or the first XBOX, but a fourth Streets of Rage was proposed by somebody within SEGA. However, it was turned down because the executives had never heard of Streets of Rage. I hate executives.

Holy crap. I'm extremely phobic about driving places, but I'll have to see if I can make it to Red Bank regularly. I've been pretty much arcadeless since Funmania closed three years ago.

I recently got two Genesis 2 consoles, and both of them have some sort of substance covering their pins. I am able to scrape it off, but it isn't on my older Genesis 2 that I grew up with in the 90s. Does anybody know what's going on here? It is on both of these systems that I got, and I've never seen anything like this before. The plastic PCB cover as well as the enclosure cover were in place, too. (If you notice a bit of discoloration on the PCB just to the top of the center of the pins, you'd be right. This board is water damaged and doesn't work, but the other console I got looks pristine inside and works fine yet still has this substance covering the pins.)

Can you help me pick a 2600 game for my club at school?
Chuplayer replied to segasaturn's topic in Atari 2600
Whatever you do, don't bring in two pairs of paddles and a Warlords cart. Somebody will end up getting suspended.
