  1. Starfox 64 = You can tell that Miyamoto took a more active role in the design of this game, because it sucks. Everything good about the first game is gone, and there's even more emphasis on the stupid mascot characters. I love the original to this day, but this sequel and all the ones which followed are unplayable, gimmicky garbage.

    You're pillaging my childhood.

Star Fox 64 is bad, but the first one is good? I don't think I've ever met anybody who disliked the sequel when they liked the original, much less liked it less than the original but still liked it.

  2. No one's mentioned Dig Dug yet?

I've actually got 7800 Dig Dug coming. I don't think it's going to dethrone Commando, but I loved playing the arcade version. I broke the joystick on the same cabinet twice :)

  3. To be fair, the problem only occurs when you carry the system around in a small pocket often. I doubt that's the kind of tests they used during the development stages.

To be fair, the problem only occurs when you're using the product as intended.

Total junk. I almost got one close enough to the price drop to get the 20 free games plus a price adjustment, but now I'm really glad I got an old PC Engine instead. I was glad before, but I hadn't heard of this problem before.

  4. As many 3DS owners may know, the 3DS has a design flaw that, when closed, will "scratch" the top screen area. At first, these are just marks that can be wiped off, but eventually they become permanent scratches.

What? How does a design flaw that bad make it past the development stage? Heck, that's the type of mistake they should have already put measures into place to avoid all the way back on the original fat DS.

First, they absolutely botch the 3DS as a system. Then, they botch the system's identity by making the marquee games N64 ports. Now, they go ahead and do this. The more I think about it, the more Nintendo is becoming a joke. Don't even get me started on the extra AAA battery-powered analog nub that is probably going to make reaching the A/B/X/Y buttons an absolute chore.

I want the late 90s Nintendo back.

  5. I liked Sega Rally Revo, so I hope this turns out to be as least as good.

Reports are that it's going to cost 10 dollars for download.

I like the graphics on Sega Rally Revo, but the car handling is awful. The cars slide like they were on ice or oil slick.

Use first person mode. It's unplayable any other way, and it becomes awesome when you switch to first person mode.

  6. The guy thats selling the BJL Jags is a good price. For the same price as a regular jaguar, you get pre-installed BJL kit. And it still plays regular games as well. Saves you the time of buying a kit.

    Where is this?

  7. Oh, and also.......

Why they never released DC versions of... Streets of Rage 3

There actually was a Streets of Rage 3...

Anyway, I forget if it was for the DC or the first XBOX, but a fourth Streets of Rage was proposed by somebody within SEGA. However, it was turned down because the executives had never heard of Streets of Rage.

    I hate executives.

  8. I recently got two Genesis 2 consoles, and both of them have some sort of substance covering their pins. I am able to scrape it off, but it isn't on my older Genesis 2 that I grew up with in the 90s.

Does anybody know what's going on here? It is on both of these systems that I got, and I've never seen anything like this before. The plastic PCB cover as well as the enclosure cover were in place, too.

(If you notice a bit of discoloration on the PCB just to the top of the center of the pins, you'd be right. This board is water damaged and doesn't work, but the other console I got looks pristine inside and works fine yet still has this substance covering the pins.)

  9. I'd avoid using proprietary anything for the system A/V connectors, to be honest. The common Nintendo A/V cable has been superceded by whatever they used on the Wii, so I don't expect Nintendo makes them anymore, and who knows how long 3rd party makers will continue to sell them.

The same goes for the Sony cable, only even more so since I refuse to give Sony any more of my money.

Basically, if I can't drop $5-10 at Radio Hack and get myself a cable that can be used on the system, AND on anything else that uses "standard" ports (Composite/Component/S-Video), I'm not interested.

I have to second this. I do not want to have to track down special cables. I'd rather just use regular cables I can use with my VCR or something.

  10. I picked 3200 case, 2600 joystick with two buttons, and don't care about the name.

The case is important to me because it would be something new. It could really differentiate itself from the other Atari systems while also being very Atari-like and also a resurrection of a scrapped Atari product all in one. Using that case would be like using the Neptune case if somebody actually made a Genesis/32X hybrid.

I picked the 2600 joystick with the two buttons because I think it would work well as long as the buttons are placed right next to each other. I'm not interested at all in having buttons on two different sides of the joystick, so the 3200 joystick is out. And the 7800 Proline joysticks? :rolling:

I don't care about the brand name as long as it works. The less compatibility problems, the better.

And as an aside, PLEASE use front mounted controller ports. I'll still buy it if the ports are rear mounted, but that would be annoying.
