  1. Or they could just put regular jacks on the back of the console and not risk it.
  2. I have to second this. I do not want to have to track down special cables. I'd rather just use regular cables I can use with my VCR or something.
  3. I picked 3200 case, 2600 joystick with two buttons, and don't care about the name. The case is important to me because it would be something new. It could really differentiate itself from the other Atari systems while also being very Atari-like and also a resurrection of a scrapped Atari product all in one. Using that case would be like using the Neptune case if somebody actually made a Genesis/32X hybrid. I picked the 2600 joystick with the two buttons because I think it would work well as long as the buttons are placed right next to each other. I'm not interested at all in having buttons on two different sides of the joystick, so the 3200 joystick is out. And the 7800 Proline joysticks? I don't care about the brand name as long as it works. The less compatibility problems, the better. And as an aside, PLEASE use front mounted controller ports. I'll still buy it if the ports are rear mounted, but that would be annoying.
  4. The Football one by Tiger wasn't too terrible. They released it with two different sticker overlays, so my mom thought she was getting me a completely different game the second time. It wasn't different at all. The Sonic 2 game was ambitious, if nothing else. I played it a lot before I got my real Sonic games. Pinball was a lot of fun. It probably still is, too. On the Konami end of things, my dad got one with a sticker overlay based on some sort of hot sauce. I imagine the game is exactly the same as whatever the regular edition was, but whatever. Anyway, it was a western first person shooter (or was it third person?) where bad guys would come at you, and you would have to aim your gun and shoot them before they shot you. I actually played it quite a bit.
  5. Right before they pulled the plug, the DC was outselling the PS2. I never understood why they would pull the plug when they were winning. You actually received stuff from BuyRite? I always heard horror stories about that place. I didn't have any DC memories to make on 9/9/99, but I did play hookey from school that day to play my Genesis. I played Sonic 3 and Knuckles all the way through. I got my DC for Christmas in 1999, though, and it became my most played console well through 2004. That system just kept on giving well after it was over. I remember playing the heck out of the Propeller Arena leak in 2004. Good times.
  6. Is it just me, or is that a real 16:9 aspect ratio and not a squished screen? Because that would be flippin' awesome. That's how classics should be ported. That's something worth paying money for.
  7. I took Madalaine to the doctor today. She always likes seeing Nurse Kara before she sees the doctor. Nurse Kara: Hello again, Madalaine. How are you doing? Madalaine: I'm doing fine. Nurse Kara: I see you're here for a routine checkup. Do you have any concerns about your health? Madalaine: No, I'm feeling fine, Nurse Kara. Madalaine: Oh! That's cold! Nurse Kara: You wouldn't believe how many times a day I hear that. Nurse Kara: That's all. The doctor will see you shortly, Madalaine. Madalaine: It was nice seeing you again, Nurse Kara. Have a nice day! Nurse Kara: You, too!
  8. On PC? (Hopefully Steam.) Both soundtracks? Holy crap, don't screw this one up, SEGA.
  9. The NES version is, if nothing else, very responsive. I played the Genesis version way back in the day, though, and I couldn't stand the controls.
  10. What kind of overducated MBA nongamer executive jackass thought that rereleasing Urban Champion would be a good use of resources and wouldn't make Nintendo look like complete jackasses?
  11. Get a Playgear Pocket case and skip the screen protector. The case is the screen protector.
  12. I don't know, Zach, but thanks for the kind comment
  13. Madalaine: Daddy! Are we going to read the Revolutionary Girl Utena book from the new DVD set like you promised? Chu: Of course! Let's have a look at it now. Madalaine: It's a sketch of Utena herself! I like Utena. Chu: I like her too, Madalaine. She's a very strong-willed and determined girl. Chu: Are you enjoying the laserdisc liner notes? Madalaine: Please, Daddy! I'm reading! Chu: Oh, sorry. Madalaine: Daddy! Help me! The book is trying to eat me! Chu: Nice try, Madalaine. It isn't going to make the last Utena set come out any sooner, you know. Madalaine: When is it coming out? Chu: December. Madalaine: It's the Absolute Destiny Apocalypse!
  14. Looks like it. Not too many of those around. I modded my toploader for composite and did the no lines mod as well. The picture quality looks great now. Mitch The Japanese AV system is a lot easier to find, but it's hard to find a converter cart to let you play US games on the Japanese system. f I could find that, I would have an AV Famicom by now so I could simply share 1 AV connection for all four classic Nintendo consoles. I missed my chance to own one when I was in Japan I couldn't find them in any of the used shops, they all had famicoms, but no toploaders. The adapter, however, is fairly easy to get ahold of. http://www.nintendorepairshop.com has one for $9.99 Got a link to that adapter? I'm having a hard time finding it.
  15. There's nothing more to it. Everybody, please remain civilized in this discussion.
  16. And it still looks like a PS2 game. And that means it will suck? I dont think so. No, I wasn't implying that. I'm just remarking on how they claim to do all these great things like tripling polygon counts and quadrupling texture quality yet it still looks like a PS2 game.
  17. I believe every firmware, even the current firmware, has a Pro or B4 or something CFW available for it.
  18. This is what they want you to think. Worst justification ever.
  19. I like video games, and I also like dolls. It's a little unusual, but it's what I like. That's all there is to it
  20. My daughter Madalaine has been feeling a bit sad lately. She asked me a shocker of a question that I never expected, but I guess that comes with the territory when you're a father. Madalaine: Daddy? Do you love me? Chu: What? Of course! I love you very much! Why don't you think I love you? Madalaine: It's because you've been so busy playing video games and reading comic books and watching anime. You don't seem to have any time for me anymore! We haven't had any Daddy and Madalaine time in ages! Chu: I'm so sorry, Madalaine! I didn't mean to make you feel that way. I didn't mean to be so selfish. Madalaine: But you spend so much time doing other things that I don't know what to do. You play your new PC Engine with Donna, and you watch Revolutionary Girl Utena all alone without me. I wanted to watch Utena with Daddy. I know you like that anime a lot, and I wanted you to share it with me. Chu: In that case, of course we can watch Utena together! After that, we can read the little book that came with the DVDs. And after that, I'll do my best to keep you in mind so you don't feel lonely anymore. Madalaine: Do you mean that, Daddy? Do you really mean that? Chu: Of course, Madalaine! You're my only daughter, and I want what's best for you. Madalaine: Oh, Daddy! I love you! Chu: Whoa! Big hug incoming! I love you, too, Madalaine. ♥The End♥
  21. And it still looks like a PS2 game.
  22. I like my 3000. It greatly redeemed the system in my eyes. I saw the 1000 back in 2005, and I didn't like it at all. The screen was a ghosty mess. I love the 3000's screen. It's 100% worth it. It's super crisp, and I have never seen any ghosting.
