Hmmm... this is a difficult game. My score is 12,600.

lol, yeah XD. I just saw there is a Batman topic as well... Never mind. It's time to try out this Batman return game.

Yeah, we want BATMAN, BATMAN, BATMAN, BATMAN....

Viking Child is still one of my favourites. I can't make it farther then the second level with the floating flatforms. Whos bright idea was it to make your guy not move with the platforms??? I have the same problem, those bloody moving platforms are killing me.

15020 It's a really good platformer for the Lynx and I just tried it out now because of this contest. Thanks.

Use rechargeable batteries, I use 2700 mAh GPs, it works fine with them, I never use the power adaptor. How long do they last on a charge? I just joined the ranks of proud Lynx owners, and I can't wait to get mine in the mail... I have been using my Lynx 6 hour 35 minutes since the last charge, and it is still working. I must say that the battery life is not bad at all with these modern NiMh batteries. I have expected like 4-5 hours maximum. (I even saw a review on youtube and the guy was talking about 2 hours working time...) That's good info to know. I haven't put batteries in either my Lynx units since I was a kid, simply because it was a complete waste of money when you only got 2 hours out of em. 6+ hours is a considerable upgrade. wow The batteries went flat after 8 hours 5 minutes. So yes, it is a huge upgrade. I used headphones, but I can't imagine that with speaker it would work less than 6-7 hours. So it works easily longer with one charge than a PSP or a DSi. A don't even use the power adapter, the cable would be just uncomfortable.

Hi everybody, I just tried out my Flash Card, everything works fine. I use Mac OS X, so if any Mac user will need help fell free to ask me. Mark Wolfe's problems were very instructive, I figured out many things from there. And thanks for the Lynxman for his amazing job.

When I took my Lynx for the year I lived in Germany (1992) I took two sets of NiCd AA batteries with me - I hadn't bought the D cell pack yet. And yep, they lasted about 2 hours per charge. Wow, then the battery technology have been improved a HUGE.

You get quite far in screen quality by doing this: Bulding a better Lynx LCD Here you see it in sunlight: Lynx LCD in bright sunlight -- Karri Thanks Karri for the links, I saw the first one earlier but the pictures in direct sunlight are new for me. Well, it looks quite complicated, I don't think so I will mod my Lynx in the near future, especially that it is in perfect shape. Maybe if I will have a second Lynx some day for cheap in worse condition. Anyway I read that if I tilt the screen slightly and I adjust the brightness, the colours won't be so washed up. I have tried it out and it works, so from now I will use my Lynx that way. Anyway this console is amazing, I have just beaten the Cyber Virus game, now I can play it in expert mode again

I have been looking for those threads and I found them. Sadly it seems there is no way to change the screen to a modern one. And the LED upgrades are not too convincing so probably I won't try to mod my Lynx. Anyway, there isn't any big problem with the screen, I think it's amazing that 20 years ago it was possible to produce screens like this is mass production, the modern screens are definitely a different league but the Lynx's screen is still useable. But in case if anybody did a big discovery in this subject then please, let us now.

Hi all, I would have a question about the Lynx 2. Is it possible to improve somehow the screen backlight? I know that there is a back light tube behind the screen. My question is: is there any better alternative for this part? Can we use some kind of other lighting hardware there? Thanks.

Hi busterm! I just would like to ask you that what do you think about the Hot Dog. Is it a good platformer? Sadly there isn't many platformers to the Lynx, I wonder that it is a decent one or just absolutely average. And as it is basically a demo, what you think, how long the gameplay is? I mean can you success all the levels like 5 minutes or it is a longer game nevertheless being a demo? Thanks in advance!

Hi Clean Larry, I ordered the Zaku and I saw it is out of stock at the moment. When can we expect the next production run? Cheers

Hi Mark Wolfe, I am happy that finally you can use your flash card. I use Mac OS X as well and I am thinking about to getting one of these flash cards in the near future. If I will do so and I will have difficulties ( and I am sure I will have... ) I hope you won't mind to asking from you a few question.

Actually I have found Lynx stuff goes for much higher prices, for instance I got a Gamegear with about 30 games all CIB for £75. You would be paying at least double that for a Lynx lot. The Lynx still has a big fanbase with alot of homebrew support, you can't say that for the Lamegear. Yeah, the used sega game gear items usually cheaper than the used Lynx ones. It is weird that the system itself is so expensive ( I mean a New Sega Game Gear). I guess there is hardly any.

Well, the thing is that when I play I can't feel the time but they last pretty long. After the next charging I will measure the working time. I am sure you won't be disappointed with your new Lynx. Good to see that the Lynx community is bigger and bigger. Yes I am surprised as well. The only good thing that the smaller fan base means cheaper games and systems. I bought my Lynx 2 for 75 GBP for brand new. I saw that a new Sega Game Gear is 300-400 GBP!! I bought a new because I am extremely allergy to the screen scratches even to the smallest one. I really take care of it, I don't even leave it just on a table or on whatever because of the dust, I always put it in my drawer . I know, it was a little risky to buy a new one (dead pixels etc etc ), but thanks god everything is perfect on it. I have bought the next games so far: Batman returns (it came with the system),Shadow of the beast, Blue Lightning, Warbirds, Zarlor Merchenary, Checkered Flag, Toki, Desert strike, Klax, Chips Challenge, Crystal Mines 2, Dracula, Battlezone 2000, Cyber Virus, Sokomania, Daemonsgate and I ordered the Zaku. And I am really looking forward to some new project (EOTB, DragonSaga, Distant Lands)

I would like to buy one as well, I like platform games and this one looks great.

I am new to the Lynx as well. I always liked the handheld consoles, but we couldn't afford them when I was a kid (I lived in Hungary and the salary is not the best there... ). I still remember when I was about 10 year old and I saw a game boy in my school. The kid was playing Aladdin on it (or something similar platformer). It was amazing. But until recently I didn't know anything about atari Lynx. I was just browsing on the net and I found an article about the Lynx. I didn't believe to my eyes. It is just awe-inspiring that a handheld with such a power, screen and I think look (especially the Lynx 2 looks cool even today) went to the wall against the game boy. In the next minute I already knew I will buy one Even the same day I ordered one, I am not disappointed at all. Hard to believe that this machine is 20 year old. So at the moment I am building my collection. And not only the hardware cool, the games are awesome as well. I am really happy that I found that article Long live the Lynx!

Hi, please put me on the buyer list, this game looks amazing, congratulation, you have done a really good job. In my free time I will learn about programming, in the future maybe I will try to write a game as well for the Lynx.
