    Auch! Please don't do that. As Level42 said, use pure alcohol to clean the drive head. You can use the 'ear cleaner stick' (Q-tip) dip it in pure alcohol and gently rub the drive head clean.

    @analmux : the last years there are always some Atari 8-bitters at Maarssen. I think Mr.Atari started to visit regularly and others joined later. You will also find some of us at retro fairs.     Before digitizing, please make sure the tape head is clean or clean it e.g. with a Q-tip and isopropyl alcohol.
