Best Electronics Review/Endorsement Thread
peedenmark7 replied to mipaol's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Best Electronics has been nothing but good to me ! They are my go-to one stop Atari Shop ! -
I have to get another multi cart and load it with the conversions etc. Last couple seasons there were more of those games making the list, and I either didn't have the cart space, or got too busy with work to play, especially during the summer months. Genuinely miss the 5200 HSC

Getting back into the 5200 is not going to be an inexpensive venture... All investments from when I got back in 2011 are nearing around $ 4k+ [incl.7800], granted I have many consoles ,odd accessories and every boxed [no bounty bob] or loose game along with multiple multi carts and home brews . Not everyone, including myself , really needs all of it to have fun. I will reiterate what another said about best electronics CX52 lifetime controller, you WILL want it if you to actually want to fully enjoy the system, I've rebuilt close to 20 of my sticks with the upgrade ,and it's hands down the best money I've spent on the 5200. I took a VERY different approach when I got into Colecovision... Waited till I found a big Coleco lot for next to nothing, bought a loaded 128-1 multi cart, and if this opcode stuff ever becomes "Readily" available, I will delve into that, but to date I have roughly $80 invested in the 128-1 and the rest was free after I sold the Atari 2600 stuff that came in the lot.. I'm happy and so is the wife.

I looked at my pictures and I have yellow zeros. I am fine with you changing that to whatever you want to change it to. I thought 0's were 0's. I am playing on a multi-cart.

So if the score is a different color than the difficulty number , we are on wrong mode ? I turn the machine on and play whatever comes up unless we are being prompted to play another game by number. so zero is not zero ? I know this my pic is shot on an angle, but I can see from the pic that the Zero is a different color than the score. I wonder if I have another pic of it. I usually take 2 pics one with phone and one with floppy camera, but out of town with limited internet access. done after this post unless I can text pics and get the wife to post while I am away If I am wrong I am fine with distinguishing between options, but again, not seeing that on my end,

Invest in some electronics spray cleaner , open up the back and spray the pots out, usually good as new afterwards. CRC makes a really good product, red can , get it any true value or Ace hardware store.

Trial run through on default 11,270 Might not be able to finish this round, great bonus game though !!

If not calibrated properly Gyruss is another that will give you fits. Your ship will spin around in a jerky stop-start motion , and may not make a full circle one way or the other. Certain gens of CX52's work better for sure, most be a pot or boot thing. Re-calibrating today, as it appears as though I will be defending a record, next round ! By the way.... Happy New Year everybody ! Wishing the best for all this year !

SD2IEC with loaded SD card for C64
peedenmark7 replied to peedenmark7's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
That price is NOT in US dollars on his website, that is British Pounds which at $45.99 GB = $56.80 in US dollars. I looked up my invoice and I paid 58.94 GB shipped which I was charged $76.93 in US dollars , which makes no sense as the dollar is stronger than the British pound, so did ebay and paypal screw me? I then paid $20 for an SD card loaded here on AA, I paid over the asking for the card to pay for the members time , I am not looking to recoup that time. Just the SD card and the SD2IEC, If I cant get damn close , my brother can have it, but if ebay and paypal screwed up , then its going back to the seller. -
yes, but I know I need to re-calibrate as missile command is a bit wonky

peedenmark7 replied to peedenmark7's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I paid $77 shipped on ebay , its the one that's ground up using original C64's. Yea , you can buy the clear or colored one for much less, Like I said I'll give it to my brother for any less. -

I bought this for Impossible mission 1 & 2, Epyx , summer games, s.g. 2, Winter and world games and bounty bob strikes back. Basically for the 2 disk games. Yep, lots of games one can play, but I got tired of having to reboot every time I went to a new game. Many say this is great, for me not so much. Going to the 1541 Ultimate 2. I'm as much a plug and play guy as there is, -
900 and a final play. I tried this with my 128-1 , my Sean Kelley non dip switch Multi cart, and 2 original Activision carts. My findings as such: Whatever the ROM is on the 128-1 is not letting me turn green pieces around , at least not all of them and no gray ones period. Not as bad on the Kelley multi cart and really no change on the original carts, able to turn some gray not all green. I know my 2 port is out of calibration to a degree, could this be the culprit not allowing me to turn pieces around.

So do I need to get on a list to purchase the Super module and a couple games ? I suppose b4 I get all excited about this , I am not gonna be so inclined to pay in full and sit a year+ while enough orders are garnered to make a run worthwhile.

I just got this in last week , finally got a loaded game card yesterday and am just not bonding with it.. Since I see no real advantage to using this set up, I'm gonna stick to magnetics and when they finally fail, the 64 can go to the dump.. This is the one from the guy on eBay in the UK, it's the one made from ground up C64's. I am gonna lose either way on it after paying for and to have a card set up loaded with games, so if I cant get my asking, I'll give it to my brother and he can mess with it. $80 shipped and pp'd , no gift payments. Happy New Year !

I found 1 YouTube video with a guy and his kid, that did more talking than playing..
-
I tied my 800 having no clue other than getting the number in the square,, WHOO-Hoo , I'm on to something
-
I remember it well... I got 800 , which is an improvement over ZERO last time. I don't have a pic as I hit reset ,and am no scoring threat on this one

So what is the object of this game ? I get that one is trying to make a continuous grid of some kind, turn the grid green ?? > but you can literally wander the screen turning things around aimlessly till you die. The game instructions read like a stoned guy giving directions to some rural monument , and there is nothing on youtube to show strategy or game play. I've always been left scratching my head as to the perceived value of this game, as after about 10 minutes of playing it, I generally decide that my time would be better spent doing laundry. Am I missing something here ?

Are those 2 & 4 port diagnostic boards still floating around? ?
