  1. Atari 2600 jr. SOLD to Stan ! '83 Atari 2600 Darth Vader, very clean unit with original owners manual and warranty card, original RF cable,TV switch ,[2] factory power adaptors, the original with repair at plug end , but works without issue. [ 2] Quick Shot Brand pilot style joysticks, both function just fine and are silly clean , one has the original inspection sticker on it and those darn suction cups stick like mad [1] sealed on card Recoton #V127 10' joystick extension cable [2600 only] so you can sit on the couch and play ! [1] cx-40 joystick needing rebuild , [1]used boxed gemini gemstik, [1] boxed video command fairchild F-style joystick, [1]funky looking cx40 clone. [1] Recton #V129 56" exact replacement joystick cable for cx40 joystick sealed on the card is included. 2600 console carrier bottom is included, top is gone. I'll also include [2] epyx 500Xj's . they are both rough, missing the joystick handles but the internals appear to be fine for spare parts. $45 and actual shipping. No surprises, the darth works as it should. Only reason I am selling is I have a 7800 and a 5200 w/vcs adaptor so these are no longer needed, could also use the space the 2600 stuff is taking up as well. I have a perfect box for shipping and pack well. Thanks for looking !
  2. If they do that is a little misleading . granted they probably have good climate control and shrink wrap to stave off any moisture damage in shipping. but it was obvious that the box was untouched... there are always tell-tale signs in even the most minor of creases to those atari box flaps after opened... I have ot believe this was untested... No harm No foul , as long as I can adjust it and dont have to return it... my time is worth more than the item & hassles of a return. Still plunking away on this darn computer this morning... have to make that adjustment and report back
  3. I spoke with best yesterday and they said the same. what I found odd was that they claimed that they burned it in and set the color to a one of their known functional 5200's. how can that be if the box was sealed and the little tab to lock the box was visibly untouched anyway ? weird. I am going to do that adjustment right now ! thanks again guys !
  4. okay...I just got in a new boxed cx55 vcs adaptor for my 2 port 5200 from Best elec. My issue is the color seems way out of whack on this thing.. pitfall is so frigging green no yellows at all, pitfall2 is even worse.. ! Demon Attack and Donkey Kong are so pink its as if someone whacked the color way up on the TV. My 52 works just fine with every game made for it, no picture issues at all. So my question is : whats going on ? bad RF cable ? something bad in the vcs ? something that's easily serviced or do I send it back to best ? It seems I am hitting for the cycle on system issues lately thanks for looking !
  5. Most of the 7800 games Ive played are pretty lame... they all center around the same epyx looking graphics and game play..Most feel unfinished to me.. Yea there are some REALLY good games on the 78, but 5200 has by far and away the better arcad and originals title list......I like the graphics, and joystick better as well and the games play as they should. Ive spent a good deal of time on desert falcon and xevious and still fight the damn games and get no further... It cant be just me ? I'd even go so far as to say 2600 is better than 7800. if you cant find 50 great games on 2600 that keep up your interest, you certainly wont be wowed by even half that number on 7800 The 800 has some neat 3rd party games. I wish I had kept the 800Xl I recently sold as I had a sh!t house of NOS sealed games for it that would have kept me busy for a months..... This hobby was just getting out of control and something had to go. The 800 seemed the most logical choice as I already have a ton of commodore 64 games..... I'll probably regret the 800 sale, but right now, not a second thought given to it...
  6. There is no Colecovision-to-Atari technology out there, sorry. And there's no easy way to port the game, as the Colecovision and the Atari systems use completely different processors. The only way you'll be playing Space Fury on an Atari system is if someone was to write a version of the game from scratch, which as you probably know, takes a long, long time with extremely little financial reward. So your best options for playing this game are: (from most to least expensive) 1. Buying a Space Fury arcade cabinet 2. Buying a Vectrex and the homebrew Space Frenzy cart as dr. kwack suggested. This is a pretty cool option, as you get to play the game on an actual vector monitor. And the Vectrex has an awesome retro feel that just can't be matched by any other system. 3. Buying a Colecovision and a Space Fury cart 4. Emulating either the Colecovision or arcade versions on your computer. Not strictly legal, but commonly done nonetheless. It's certainly a fun game. Best of luck in finding a method to play it that works for you. I guess a colecovision it is,as I have the boxed cart
  7. is there any reverse coleco to atari technology via some form of adapter to play this game on an atari system ? or better still is there a rom of this game that i could download onto the 5200 multi cart ?
  8. Zylon, thanks for your help on the sound issue ! I ended up buying a pokey and the [2] 820pU mylar sounds caps... It was the caps ! sounds great now !
  9. The last of the c64/128 games are up.......This is the final edit , other than removing them.
  10. It just sold on ebay a week ago and wa slisted here as well. nos sealed in the package. Sorry man, I just got a vic-20 a little over a week ago, so I wouldn't have had use for the cassette deck till then. And besides, I probably wouldn't have done sealed in package. No point of paying more for something I'm going to use. It was worth a shot though man. thanks. I agree... i wonder why I am spending for 5200 and 7800 sealed games when i crack them open anyway !
  11. I thought it was a great deal especially for being an oddball... So to never get it was a bummer, then again i should have known better than to deal with someone with [1] positive feedback.. Truth be told I am finding that most of the 7800 carts to be sort of a let down.. Granted I dont have any of the super rarities yet...So i will probably simply stick to the 5200 and the activision 2600 games. If I find a good deal maybe I jump , but not going to get spendy. The offer is appreciated though
  12. I just paid $64 shipped for an early atari 7800 with the expansion port, a bunch of controllers, boxed 7800 and 2600 games waited nearly a month as the seller dicked me around around on when it would ship, entered a tracking number that was no good, eventually blew me off thinking Id go away.....after filing a dispute on ebay, he finally refunded me today...no explanation whatsoever... seems the item didnt bring what he wanted so he left me hanging after payment was made. kind of pissed me off as I REALLY wanted an earlier 7800 than I have... oh well.... I 'll just buy more 5200 stuff
  13. It just sold on ebay a week ago and wa slisted here as well. nos sealed in the package.
  14. lot pricing now offered on the vic stuff, keyboard excluded in that lot.
  15. No offers as of yet, so this section is now the $10 blue light special aisle. [printer excluded]
  16. getting quiet out there, maybe we need some new games added .
  17. bought a new vcs...
  18. I hit 161,000 on gyruss, commodore 64 this weekend...I'm gonna have a heck of time catching doctorclu on the 5200
  19. I know the cx52 isnt for everyone... You'll love the gold rebuild...makes the stick better than original new. I bought a pair of those NOS boxed cx52's on ebay a couple months back & neither worked right , they both were last production ones with the really sh!tty pots in them having the carbon cloth glued down for the sweepers to run on...what a joke ! I gutted one, and installed a pair of good used panasonic pots and the gold rebuild flex circuit & buttons . Man the controller is a monster now! There was a masterplay interface up not so long ago. I should have bought it as it sod for reasonable compared to most.
  20. I'm a lefty as well...As a kid it always frustrated me that ALL joystick manufacturers assumed the entire world was right handed. Though about 70% ambidextrous I have this problem with weed whackers and all kinds of stuff still today clearly made to be used right handed. I'd play games against my little brother and his fiends and it seemed I was always the one struggling to get comfortable playing, which often led to lower scores... my game suffered for quite a while until the universal sticks appeared. CX-40? forget it....it's simply NOT human hand friendly ! Why atari and other manufacturers couldn't grasp ergonomics until around the super nintendo's release is beyond me ! It's like they had some old tool and die maker telling them everything had to be square with sharp edges or 3 " thick. I prefer pilot type sticks with fire buttons on the top of the stick & have some really clean bordering new Quick Shot joysticks for 2600 that I recently got in a large lot , which I simply cant use . I thought I'd be a smart asz and flip the removable ergo handle around but before doing so figured I'd also have to reverse the guts [impossible] or get a schematic to reverse the wire locations for the up /down & left /right to function correctly. In the end,the fire button would have been on the right hand side, but to the back of the stick, not to the front. a lost cause. So they are going on the bay with a system I'm putting up. I love the idea of having cx-78's, but dont care for the joypads on platform games,[most games really] as at least to me they seem to stick, especially on Donkey Kong. I have to say I am not a fan of the 7800 controller either, at least it has ambidextrous firing buttons , just seems the guts are cheap junk and they don't last long ! Ive used a Suncom Tac-3 for so many years on 2600 and commodore games that it's become an item I buy whenever I find a nice one. I have a NOS point master pro sealed in the plastic box that I have been toying with finally opening and using as those are pretty nice sticks. However, we are talking 5200 controllers aren't we ? The Wico command control is a well built stick, but I detest the pointy top of the stick, and the buttons are on the wrong side...and why would I spend that kind of money for s used one much less new to still have to use a frigging Y cable, which means I still have to get off the couch to hit pause or fiddle around with a second controller and tangled cables???. Space Dungeon and Robotron 2084 are enough of a drag with 2 controllers, I'd can the system if I had to do that for every game.... The cx-52 was so weird feeling for me back in the day. I believe If you work with the cx52 long enough it becomes an extension of your hand/arm. All the complaining about the lack of self centering really doesn't bother me, as I feel in complete control of the movement rather than working off of the self centering of a digital stick. If your cx52 is fully functional and your console properly calibrated, you don't need the Wico stuff. Just an observation..Everyone is different and that's why we have the many options we do for Atari ! Good topic for us lefties !
  21. What would it take to port this to 5200 ,and would anybody be interested in taking on that task ? any interest in this for 5200 from others?
