Allan, I kinda figured pokey was the lower left . This thing must have been in for service at some point if parts were laying inside of it and an Atari service decal is on the bottom.. This one may be a good candidate for the vid mod . I've been itching to see what difference it makes in picture quality and I have a bunch of other units I'd never mod, so ...

switch works . nobody has confirmed which is the pokey chip. I assume by part number, it is the lower left hand large chip in the center of the board ? Allan, what does the 6502 do? weird it was laying in the console ?

this is weird... took the 2 port apart last night and removed the RF shield, and I see that there is/was a loose chip floating around inside the console. not under the shield, just loose in the console casing. first picture shows location where it was found resting upper left hand corner lower shows the chip its self. what is this chip ? I see no open spot for it. there is a silver foil Atari service sticker on the bottom of the case.may have already been in for service? replaced part that never was removed ? could this have been grounding something out? causing the noise? made no difference with the case apart and that out of the system. still have the same white noise static

Can you open it up and see if the Pokey is socketed? Allan where am i looking ? have it open as we speak

Picked up another 2 port this past week . picture and game play are fine, but I get no sound other than static like the tv is on the wrong channel, called best elec, and they said it was pokey chip or something in the sound section... kind of hate to buy a new mother board, but I'd guess if I were to buy all the parts to fix or have someone do it, it would cost me the $35 and then some. your thoughts ?

Ive been going round and round for 4 months trying to figure out which game other than gyruss I used to love playing in the arcade in my teens. I kept going back to Galaxian and Galaga but theyre both invader type shooter types, so incorrect game play...it literally drove me nuts until I bought another 5200 lot which contained 3 colecovision games.... The game is Space Fury by sega. Has anyone ever seen this ported for 52 or 7800 ? I sure would love to play this game without having to buy another system !!! while i am on this topic parker bros Gyruss is not exact to the arcade is it? when you get the multiple laser guns in the arcade didnt they spin on to the tips of your wings or sonmething along those lines? or do I have both gyruss and space fury mixed up with another arcade game, I may have played... I can picture it in my mind, just cant spit it out.. this space fury game with the alien with one eye that talks to you really rings a bell though !

We are still weeding through all this stuff... sort of disappointed in the lack of true atari stuff. especially when thats what was promised. lots of boxed printers, tractors, hundreds of ribbons, disk drive guts. IBM covers, seems there is more IBM stuff than anything...Is this worth listing here or on craigslist or will the end result listing it really be a waste of time? seems guys dont want the atari,apple, ibm what have you software , unless its free. I'd like all this stuff out of my garage.. minimal local hits... your thoughts .?

smoking deal ! congrats ! I have kind of gone overboard on 5200 stuff of late... I found a guy selling a boxed 2 port missing the power supply , but had one original USA controller and one non marked new one that works fantastic , as well as clean CIB'S of >> star wars,frogger,space dungeon, super cobra,real sports baseball, qbert,and moon patrol. all for $25 ! she works too !

That copper will eventually corrode, looks nice though... electro-dag [guitar cavity shielding paint] painted on to the contacts works well too and takes far less time. I didi a controller with this about 3 months aog and it works fine . Looks like your joystick was packed in a box with the stick pushed over to the left and the rubber aged and hardened some into that position... I'd rebuild it with best elec's NOS and gold contact parts.... my rebuilt joysticks are better than new back in the day !

are these the ones on ebay ? they sure look nice ! embroidered is sweet... would like to see the correct brown covers with model names as well! gotta pick up a trakball cover ! personalized is a big plus as well !

Ive been open to that from the git-go, and that should be clear by my asking for offers on other things. Ive made several package deals with folks here and all seemed happy in the end to get what they got. my collection is comprised of 5200 ,7800 , and some scant c-64 stuff ONLY, so uch of this does me any good , not to mention its taking up space in the garage. I was led to believe i was getting a ton of sealed 2600 games, along with about 100 sealed c64 games, and a bunch of 800 stuff on top... for what I ended up with in the end I never would have taken this little task on. I am not going to send things out for shipping costs, I don't have that kind of time . With the closest post office 6 miles one way, and another 15 miles away. I am not going to scrounge up boxes and buy packing materials or drive around for the sake of doing so. most of this stuff Ive let go well below what Ive seen it sell for on ebay, I've had few guys here tell me I am letting some things go for too cheap...No biggie.. As for snapping pics... i have a garage full of stuff...I have snapped many pics for those wanting specific items, to do so of each and every item without interest makes no sense to me. I may be sending the entire lot to france, I'll have to see how that develops in the next day or so. meantime ,offer away. I have a bunch of IBM stuff, a NOS in the box apple 2E with monitor and dual disc drives, tons of printer crap...
