Thanks champ ! I will be in touch soon. Zylon , is that cursor moving up and down a calibration thing for you ? I know had that same problem early on after getting my 128-1. Once calibrated that issue stopped , but I will say that the cursor is real stick sensitive. Ive turned the 5200 on and if the stick is pointed in whatever direction it at times is either scrolling or flipping pages on me. No plug, but the Atarimax guy has Demon Attack and Atlantis on carts so I would likely get them there , though it would be nice to have them on the multi cart for ease of travel as well. I'm down with a 20/7

I'd like to see a shorter season for both tournaments. I can only speak for myself, but a non stop gaming gaming season has not only become impossible to stick with, but it also grows old. Where as I love participating a 2 week break is far from a real break. Thinking out loud here.... The 2 week break right now is just fine before the new regular season begins . Maybe a 2 week break mid summer [4th July] or maybe a 1 week break at that point and then the 1 week break between the Regular and OE we had this year ? Keeping things fresh while still pounding the controllers I guess.. As for picking the games, I like the 2 game method we did this year. I think it worked out well and was fair. No, we didn't all get to play both of our games, but do we really want to play the same games we played during our regular season ? or even half of them ? I agree with the above game suggestions. I'd love to see some A8 comversions [provided I can upload them to the crummy 128-1 cart I wasted a bunch on, still no help from the maker on uploading ] or if the majority of us can have those games put on custom carts on a timely basis so as to even compete. No emulation here, so I'd be out on every one of those games if I couldnt do either of the aforementioned. Conversion games like Atlantis ,Demon Attack, Caverns of Mars , Spy Hunter , Shamus and M.U.L.E. come to mind and could afford us all some variety and infuse some level of new interest, rather than beating the factory catalog to death over and over. Zylon has done a great job thus far , and I am sure he will work something to everyones liking.

I've never played this other than some screwing around on my multi cart. I played today and yesterday... Superbowl Sunday will cut my run short, but another awesome port to add to the rotation and build on ! 198,207 Go BRONCOS !

+2 on calibration... More often than not this is the case , especially if you put lots of time into gaming. If it is something that happens all the time, you may want to invest in a new bias pot. I have this issue on my beloved 4 port , but I play so well on it, that I simply leave the screws out of the housing so that I can calibrate as needed. Even on NOS motherboards out of the package you can still have to adjust simply because the hardware is old. There was also mention of the cursor going off center when the joystick is released. This is usually due to the age of the rubber boot. If left jammed in a certain position the rubber will eventually develop a memory and will naturally go to that position. Always store your CX-52 with the stick dead center up. Not sure how one can spin the pot arm around on the pot shaft as they are press fit and have ribs. If you are able to move the pot arm on the shaft chances are you've stripped the plastic teeth and will be adjusting it quite often.

Roarunner are your controllers updated with gold contacts etc .? If so you may want to re-calibrate your machine. I had some issues on this one after calibrating for Gyruss , then ended up doing it again for Defender as I did not have full screen top to bottom movement which is typical of Missile Command if you are not calibrated..

This game is the entire reason I got back into Atari 5200, but I suck at it . Weird 169,500 an easy one to top.

I am in the process of making that switch.. Both the old and the gold ones get mushy over time anyway. Either way I am constantly taking the controller apart, no big whop to clean the contacts if it saves the flex circuit.

Thanks Champ ! Yea, this one is one of those games where your thumbs numb then turn to jell-o. Feels like I smacked my thumb real good with a hammer It's also one where if you play it hard enough you'll ruin your gold flex circuits from mashing the fire button so much.. I don't mind rebuilding ,provided I've made it worth my while by breaking a record to do so..

I don't know what the heck my stumbling block is, I'm frustrated playing on my 2 port ,and though this is one of my faves, enough is enough. Either way it is no record breaker which irks me further. On the up side , I finally figured out Qix while taking a break from this round

Weird as I used this exact joystick while playing this game on the 2 port with no issues. I know the stick is tip-top as its the one I build over and over again..

Quick question , I got back in town on Monday after playing This one @ the cottage on my 2 port.. Worked fine Have a score but no pic as left the damn Disk at the other house. I've tried the actual cart and my multi cart in my 4 port and the game does not function as it should , I have no left or down movement.. Is this a calibration issue or do I have to play this on a 2 port. in which case I am screwed for a score with picture becuase I wont be back to the cottage until monday... No threat by anystretch as I had 5100 something for a score.

I am actually using a non upgraded one myself.. I seem to be burning through gold flex circuits and am tired of warranting or buying new ones. I'm averaging one every 3-4 months. I may begin using the better flex circuit with the original carbon buttons in hopes that the softer contact will be less abrasive to the flex circuit. BTW; Nice score !

Trak-ball is 100% period / factory correct. Though something I own but seldom use, it should absolutely be included , especially for this particular game.

Another change.....? My understanding was nothing but factory Atari items were allowed. That was the point I made in another post, which you agreed stating only upgraded contacts, before this was up and running. What is the point of running an OE tournament if the only criteria is using a 5200 console ? I am already competing all season long with a 2 and 4 port and am using a CX52 90+% of the time. The regular season is long enough as it is, I would not have signed up for basically an extension of what I am already doing had this not been laid out crystal clear and reiterated after I questioned it twice. I'll finish this round up and wait for the new season to begin... I see no point to this tournament if it is not 100% OE Atari only
