  1. FYI, the address I used was not the partial one given in the other thread. So the lady you spoke with might have been truthful. I was hoping he could give me the date of my letter, so I could confirm it is the same person without personal information being used.
  2. Mr. Esken. The Atari collector community is very small and as you can see cautious about any claims that don't seem to be substantiated. The fun of our hobby is more than just owning the original games or reproductions,it is knowing the stories about them. Please consider answering a few questions to add to the knowledge of this game. 1. What prompted you to bring Gammation back? A phone call, email, letter, or something else? If it was a letter, and you kept it, what is the date in the top left? I sent a letter to your attention but never heard back. 2. Just to clarify for everyone who thinks you're dead, you are the Jr. that started the company, correct? 3. So how did Gammation get started? How old were you? Was this a first business? 4. What is the story on how the company name and mascot were chosen? 5. How did you learn to program for the Atari 2600? 6. What tools did you use to do the programming back then? And how did you produce the cartridges (cases, chips used, etc.)? 7. What is the story on Gamma Attack? Was this a hack of another game or an original from scratch? 8. How many copies did you sell? If you had leftover stuff, what did you do with it? 9. What are your memories of the video game crash? 10. Would the new levels you mentioned be a separate cartridge or somehow incorporated into the original game? 11. Anything else geeks like us would find interesting?
  3. 1. Burnout: Paradise City 2. Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction
  4. I agree with these sentiments. The other suggestion would be to have a way to pause it if there isn't going to be level breaks.
  5. I like it. It's quick to pickup. Any plans to add some atmosphere music?
  6. Marco, have you ever run this program to see what it looks like?
  7. I couldn't find a reference to any brochures looking through the other threads. Did I miss something?
  8. nagn2, Have you checked your private messages? It's near the top right of the page where it says "# New Messages".
  9. Does anyone live in the Orlando area? There is a industry trade publication for christian stores called Christian Retailing Magazine. According to their website, they have been around for over 50 years and during the early 80's known as Christian Bookseller. It appears one of the main purposes was to introduce products to the independant stores. If they kept all the back issues, it would be interesting to look through the 82-83 issues.
  10. I just did a search on the California, Secretary of State's website for Steve Stack, Inc. and found the following entry: Registration number = C1141679 Dissolved = 5/17/1983 Agent & Address = Steve Schustack 3607 Ocean Front Walk #5A San Diego, CA 92109 I think this is legit!
  11. I'm in the Dayton area and have the ability to dump it. Al is in the Cleveland area. Any idea what part of Ohio they are in? I'd be glad to help.
  12. Sorry, they're very common and not worth much. Usually people give them away with other sale items just to get rid of them.
  13. I'm about three hours away but would definitely like to come if possible. I have a business trip and family reunion during the 12-19th week. Sundays work better for me.
  14. I haven't been since they left Vegas, but I'll definetly go if AtariAge will be there.
  15. Holy Cow! I've got to pay better attention to the forums. I bought 2 FB2's and I can see myself buying at least 4-5 of a portable for gifting purposes.
  16. So is this proto rom dump officially dead like the Pink Panther? It has been great to see these long lost games surface, but very disheartning to see them be sealed up again. Hopefully this one is an exception.
  17. Is it from the William Tell Overture?
  18. PAL or NTSC? I'm interesed in a NTSC one.
  19. Thanks for doing a Windows CE port. Although the sound and controls are glitchy this will enhance an upcoming trip I'm taking. The games that don't take real precise control work well, ie Adventure.
  20. 1) How old are you? 38 2) What sex are you? M 3) When did you get an Atari? 1977 4) When did you become involved with the Atari? (i.e. you wanted to play this over newer systems at the time or today). See Number 3 5) Why the 2600? What does it offer to YOU that other systems, whether old or new, don\'t? Simple, Fun, Variety, Quick Sessions 6) What drink keeps you going? (in case you spend long hours on the 2600). Mountain Dew 7) How many hours a day or at a time do you play the Atari? About 3 hours per week, depending on my schedule How many days a week do you spend on it? About 4 9) Your top 3-5 games. WHY these choices? I love all the games, but here are a few that pop in my head right now: Warlords - Multiplayer goodness Fall Down - simple and addictive in single or multiplayer Go Fish - must keep playing to see how big I can get Tennis - I love the perfect controls 10) Do you play any other systems besides the 2600? Colecovision, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar, SNES, PS1, PS2, PC 11) How do you view gaming of today as compared to the 70\'s/80\'s? I enjoy both. In the early days everything was new and it definately felt magical, like someone said above. It does seem a little more like work to play the modern games since there are a lot of controls to learn and progress is tracked. It seems a little more disposable, there isn\'t much reason to play again once the story is completed in a lot of the games today. 12) Do you usually just play the 2600 alone or have someone play with you? (If so, is it a relative or friend?) Most of the time alone, occasionally can talk my wife into playing. About 4 times a year a gaming buddy and I get together for marathon sessions. 13) Finally, do you or have you ever tried to turn someone to the \"Atari side\"? In grade school there was one family that had an Intellivision and we used to give them a hard time like Xbox/Sony/Nintendo fans argue now about who is better. But once you mature a little you realize there is no reason to hate competition and almost every system has fun games on it.
  21. If you want a 1 or 2 player simultaneus game, I would suggest Fall Down. My wife, who hates playing video games, loves this game. She even plays it when I'm not around!
