I have been reading the new release of ABC to the VCS and my mind is filling with strange thoughts about some of the games that never seemed to be released after the crash. Is there any chance that Mission 3000 A.D. = Spectravision Vortex? Does anyone have the red/blue 3D glasses to test this theory? It is probably just really bad flicker, but the constant color changes seem odd. Oh well, let me know what you think. If you need the ROM, it is attached. miss3000.zip

Thanks this fixed the problem! Out of curiosity, where does the string for the first line come from?
-
O.K., here are a few to start with: 1. Berenstain Bears & Smurfs Save the Day - Start but will not go past the initial screen. I assume the kid Vid is not supported, but just wanted confirmation. 2. A Bump & Jump hack on Atariage called Breaking News causes the screen to go crazy when started. 3. I get a blank or crazy screen when trying to start the hack Mr. Roboto. 4. Magicard looks like a bunch of bricks scattered around the screen and does not respond to any buttons. An enhancement request you have probably heard before would be to add the ability to rotate the screen 90 degrees so Merlin Walls could be played correctly. Any help is appreciated.

Is there a list of games that currently don\'t work in Stella? I checked the website and couldn\'t find anything like that. I\'d be glad to report the ones I\'m having trouble with if there isn\'t one.

Is it O.K. if I add a question occasionally while I\'m working through the book? In chapter 5, 3-D Havoc by Amiga is mentioned. Was this shown in working form at a CES also?

How to dump your FB2 games
Atari_Warlord replied to batari's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Thanks batari, switching to hyperterminal worked! I successfully dumped Power Off! and QB Holiday Edition. Now I need to find the parts for modding a FB2. -
I just started reading the book, great job! I noticed that Choplifter gets mentioned, Chapter 2 I think. Do you have any additional information about this title? I did a search in the Atari 2600 forum and saw there was a screen mockup in an old Atari Age magazine and the DP guide mentioned it was talked about at a CES. I'm curious if you ever got to see this one or if it was just a sales sheet?

How to dump your FB2 games
Atari_Warlord replied to batari's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Just a quick follow up to clarify my setup: I am doing this on a regular six switch with the dump bin loaded on an A26 Maxicart. I downloaded a free terminal program called realterm and set the parameters as specified above (there were a lot of other options I left on the default settings). I made a cable by cutting the end off a db9 one and hooking up the pins on the Atari side with a female crimp style plug picked up from Radio Shack (you have to go to the non-mall locations). I had to use an Ohm meter and a paper clip to identify the correct wires to hookup. -
How to dump your FB2 games
Atari_Warlord replied to batari's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Well I finally gave this a try and everything worked except my capture file ends up being 41,656 bytes and it won't transform into a working bin file. Any suggestions for someone who has very limited knowledge of how this works? I tried to dump two different games with the same results. -
Thanks, I just read the thread and will give this a shot. Also thanks to Video Game Addict for the roms. I was aware of the Ebivision policy and am a little irked since I've purchased all their games three times already. (once from Hozer and twice from Atariage)

Here are some I'm missing: Alfred Challenge Allia Quest Edtris 2600 Mental Kombat Mine Sweeper Pesco Power Off! Sea Battle Tetris26 Vault Assault TE I also have a bunch of Taiwan Coopers and Brazilian CCE and multi-carts with roms I'd like to dump.

I need to get some ROMs (not available on Atariage) from cartridges I own in order to be able to play them on a cuttle cart. If there is an easy way to make one, I'd appreciate a point in the right direction. FYI, I'm terrible with a solidering iron and would just as soon buy something pre-made if possible.

Flashback 2 Online Manual?
Atari_Warlord replied to mvigor's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
The manual is now online: http://www.atari.com/us/images/games/FBK2/manual/main.htm I noticed the Bonus Online Content index item wasn't linked to anything? Also, they may want to check the second paragraph on the Combat instructions. -
Tilde is the little sqiggly line above the tab key ~.

So how soon is "soon"? I keep looking for this everyday. Is there any chance Atariage or someone would be permitted to sell printed versions for those of us who like to collect the manuals? -

...Continued Random Thoughts Space Station: Caverns of Mars - Kind of fun, the flickering didn't seem to bother me as much as others Quadrun - No surprise, no voice. I really need to learn how to play this some day Saboteur - Just O.K. for me Space War - I'm probably one of the few people who really like this game Yar's Revenge - Love it Yar's Return - Hate it Skill and Action Zone: 3D Tic-Tac-Toe - I'm a freak, but I like playing this Aquaventure - I'll have to read Tempest's web page, I wasn't sure what to do except shoot fish Atari Climber - I haven't run into the bug yet, but like this one Combat - Better than 2 Combat 2 - Not as good as original Dodge'em - Never cared for it Fatal Run - I think this could be interesting once I figure out what I'm doing Frog Pond - Strangely addicting Hangman - I have fond memories of kicking my dad's butt playing this game Human Cannonball - Harder than I remembered, I'm sure practice will improve the skills Maze Craze - Like it Off the Wall - Like it Outlaw - I love playing this two player. Pitfall! - Always good, maybe they can stick II on the next FB Radar Lock - Good but I couldn't figure out where/how to land River Raid - One of the few games I really wanted back in the old days but didn't get until recently Save Mary - O.K. Video Checkers - Had fun beating the computer. Might be nice to stick the Activision version on in the future so two people can play Video Chess - I've never had the patience to play computer chess I would suggest adding Target Fun/Air Sea Battle to future projects as a nod to those of us who bought the Sears Telegames. Some category suggestions for FB3: 1. Sports - Realsports, etc. 2. Movies - 20th Century fox games and others. Yes, the licensing may be difficult/too costly. 3. Racing - Enduro, Grand Prix, Sprintmaster, Pole Position, Motorodeo, etc. 4. Puzzle - Rubik's Cube 3D (perfect for retro), Mental Kombat, Othello, etc. 5. Complete Company - Imagic, M-Network, etc. I can Dream. -

Walmart in Dayton, Ohio finally got a shipment and I picked one up on Sunday. Here are some random thoughts on this and future projects. Thanks Curt and all involved for this fun item. FB3 - Please add a way to get back to the menu without cycling the power switch. Add a cartridge port as a hidden expansion port, see the 7800 case. Add more games and see if anyone can correct some of the deficiencies of the new games on the FB2. Adventure Territory: Adventure - I played this game a lot as a kid and still enjoy it Adventure II - Seems fine, didn't have the color problems others have reported that make it hard to see Haunted House - O.K., has never really excited me Return to Haunted House - Colors were fine for me, need to spend more time figuring out what to do Secret Quest - I found this strangely fun and addicting Wizard - I was bored Arcade Favorites: Arcade Asteroids - Worked fine although I wish they had included the original also Arcade Pong - I really like this, didn't notice detection problems but my tv is older Asteroids Deluxe - Seemed O.K., the screen only jumped a couple times so was still playable Battlezone - Have always liked this one Centipede - Ditto Lunar Lander - Despite the flicker, I like this one. I just wish I knew what the parameters for landing succesfully are, I kept crashing when I thought I was going slow enough. Millipede - The non-alternate version, worked fine Missile Command - Played a quick game then switched to variation 13 and got the programmer initials Space Duel - As bad as everyone has said, although I had one funny moment where I thought I was dead but the object flickered off and passed through me before reappering I'll have to continue later... -

The pictures didn't come out very well, I couldn't find an angle that didn't give bad glare. The pause switch is the fourth from the bottom right. -

I have two of these units that I haven't been able to get working because of lack of proper equipment and lack of knowledge. I opened one up last night and took some pictures of the top of the board. This is the first time I'm posting pictures to the forum, so please forgive me if I do something wrong. I don't know how to add more than one per post either. The pause switch is the fourth from the left.
