Atari_Warlord replied to Atari_Warlord's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
mvigor, I noticed this morning that my email address wasn't showing and have fixed my profile now. I couldn't find a way to contact you, but if you drop me an email with your address I'll send one of the Amidar manuals to you. Mark, I've dropped you an email. -
Free Manuals - Air Sea Battle / Amidar
Atari_Warlord replied to Atari_Warlord's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Here are some of the relatively common manuals I still need: Arcade Golf Bank Heist Beany Bopper Championship Soccer Earth Dies Screaming Fantastic Voyage Fast Eddie Final Approach Flash Gordon H.E.R.O. Math Maze Mania Memory Match Miniature Golf Mr. Do! Name this Game Piece O' Cake Pooyan Porky's Soccer Sorcerer Star Strike Strawberry Shortcake Tunnel Runner Word Zapper Worm War I -
Like Eminem, I'm cleaning out my closet. Rather than trying to sell all of the duplicate stuff I have, I'd rather give the common items to a collector that needs them. Here are the first items up for the taking: 1. 4" by 6.5" Black Air-Sea Battle Manual with a crease running down the front cover. The rest of the manual is in good condition. 2. 5" by 7" White Air-Sea Battle Manual with 5 languages; English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. It has the cover, but it has been ripped off the booklet and the last three pages of the spanish section are missing. 3. Amidar Manual in good condition with the proof of purchase intact. 4. Amidar Manual as described in #3. If you are interested in any of these, please respond to this thread so that others know which items are spoken for and email your address to me. I'm not looking for any compensation, but if you feel the need to help me, there are a number of common manuals I'm still missing from my collection that are listed on my website.

Yes, his site is fantastic! I couldn't stop reading it this morning.

What other game systems/carts do you collect?
Atari_Warlord replied to Scot from S.C.'s topic in Atari 2600
I have a sealed Intellivision Night Stalker game that came in a box of Atari stuff I bought a while back. If you want it, email me your address and I'll drop it in the mail next week. -
Well, I would bid, but this seems like an obvious ploy to dupe someone into buying the PAL version, unless you're looking for that version of course. I always refuse to buy from people that aren't willing or smart enough to test their games.
-
Woo Hoo! I was starting to suffer from ADS this morning. Atari deficiency syndrome.

I'll definitely buy one. Unfortunately I never had the original, so I can't give any feedback.

Is it possible to ask your brother what his friend's name was? -
Digital Press guide and no Crazy Valet am I going crazy?
Atari_Warlord replied to Atari2600Lives's topic in Atari 2600
Leornard is correct, DP7 is missing Crazy Valet. Here are a few other gems I noticed on my first reading through the 2600 section. Pg 58 - Under Defender II it notes that there was a lawsuit that prompted the name change from Stargate. Pg 73 - Under Stargate it notes that they don't know why the name was changed to Defender II. Which one is right? Pgs 70,75 - It mentions Sea Battle & Sword Fight are available through the intellivionlives website. I contacted them a year ago and they were long sold out. Pg 119 - Under Homebrews it mentions that Gunfight is an improved version of Atari's Outlaw, but it might better be described as a more acurate conversion of the Midway Gunfight Arcade game or Bally Astrocade version. I'm still not sure that Outlaw/Gunslinger were base on this arcade game. Also under Homebrews it is missing Sean Kelly's Multi-Carts, which are listed for other systems. Pg 123,124 - They mention most of the CGE 2k2 releases but left Holey Moley & Realsports Basketball out, which could have been an issue with the timing of announcements. Pg 135 - McDonald's under Rumor Mill verses One of a Kind section. Again, probably just timing. It certainly is not my intention to be overly critical. This is the first version of the DP guide that I've purchased and am finding it a fascinating read. Especially all the systems I've heard little or nothing about. Since my primary passion is the 2600 I hope Leornard will eventually reprint his book at some point so I can have an opportunity to buy it. -
Wow, I can hear the crickets chirping in here. I guess there isn't much interest in trading at CGE or maybe I smell funny. Bloated Monkey, I'm interested in some of the games you listed and will try to talk you into taking some cash since it doesn't look like I have anything you need.

Off Topic: Speaking of the Out of Control auction, I was going to bid on it until I read at the bottom that the manual & box were not included as in the top description. Do you just not have these items, or selling them seperately?
-
Wow! This annoucement has me more excited than all the other releases. I loved to be insulted by the arcade game and this is beyond anything I expected from the 2600. Thanks.

Multiple Controllers for the same game?
Atari_Warlord replied to Atari_Warlord's topic in Site and Forum Feedback
O.K., I took a look at the Thrust entry and see it lists both controllers. I guess that answers my question and now it becomes a suggestion to update the listing. Shouldn't there be a Thrust Plus listing in the database? Thomas, I see Thrust + is going to be sold at CGE. Does this include the extra contoller? When will this be shipped to those of us who preordered a while back? -
Can the database list more than one controller, or is it limited to one? For example, Beat 'em and Eat 'em/Lady in Wading shows the Paddle, which works for Beat 'em, but Lady requires a Joystick. If the database can handle only one, maybe something could be said in the game notes. It seems like there were some games written to work with either the paddles or a joystick, I can't think of any examples off the top of my head though.

Well, I've been holding off posting this until my trade lists were updated, (about 99% accurate). Here goes: In order to pack as efficiently as possible, I need to know what items in my trade lists people are interested in. Rare stuff: NTSC Master Builder and SwordQuest Waterworld Comic. Would Like: Waterworld Cartridge, Crazy Climber, Halloween /I, Miner 2049er /I, Mr. Do!'s Castle, Survival Island, Sword of Saros,or Up n' Down /I. I would consider trading each of these for multiple lower rarity items also, as well as combining them to trade up for a higer rarity. If you go to my home page and look through the lists, I would be glad to bring whatever you might be interested in. I have a bunch of extra manuals also. Is there anyone that needs carts to reuse for creating a new release? I would be glad to donate common carts for a copy of the final product. Is there anyone that collects for intellivision, Odessy 2 (SP?), or NES. I don't, but I have some items I need to get rid of. I picked up 3 Odessy carts this weekend with boxes and manuals. I can't remember the names right now,(One was Pick Axe Pete), and the boxes are somewhat mushed. I also have a sealed Intellivision Night Stalker that came in a box of Atari items as well as some NES Manuals. I'd be glad to look through other people's lists that are attending also. Looking forward to geeking out in the desert.
-
I'll take one. "Ed Mann" will be fine.
-
This is my first time going to this conference and need some advice on what type of clothes to bring. I need to pack as lightly as possible to leave room for items picked up at the show. If anyone went last year, was it acceptable to wear shorts? Was the place super air conditioned as to make this option uncomfortable?

I grew up near an Air Force base and they had a bombing range for practice. I always thought that this was what Canyon Bomber was about.
-
I know exactly which auction your talking about. I bid on it also, obivously not enough. I normally skip any auction that just says swordquest, but for some reason I was drawn to this one.
-
Cassidy, I'm interested in your loose Waterworld. I have everything but the actual cartridge. Click on my web page link and go to the video game link and then the trade list and let me know if there is anything your interested in that I could bring to CGE.

Version of Missile Command exist W/O "RF" initials
Atari_Warlord replied to Scott Stilphen's topic in Atari 2600
I checked my three copies, and they all had the initials. -
There is and always will be people that need to win an argument. The "Fart on your Hobby" technique is a favorite among the immature as an attempt to pull the rug out from under you. We've all experienced the argument over a toy where someone doesn't want to share and when they are forced to they say, "I really didn't want that anyway". My response to this technique is usually silence. Since I enjoy my hobby and the person believes it is a waste of time, we have nothing in common, so I move on. Maybe I'm older than the average AtariAge member and I've been hearing the same put downs since I started gaming in 1975, so I just tune them out.

Room34: I don't have any idea what percentage don't have the initials. My guess would be that the number is low and would only be copies purchased in later runs. This game was quite popular and I think most of the copies sold would have been at the initial release time. I know I bought mine as soon as it came out.
