  1. I don't think I'm going to get any closer than this! Bump n Jump Special Scoring: 99,932
  2. Surely you don't want to play this godawful game?!! ? The keypad buttons open and close doors - 1 for red doors, 2 for white doors and 3 for blue doors (I think). It's on page 3 of the manual.
  3. Last go for me I think. The game really speeds up at 70,000 but I'm a bit gutted I didn't reach 80K and get another life! Mission X: 78,630
  4. If you divide your final score by the hits number, you get your average score per hit. Yours and mine are not too different (you have 232 per hit and I have 198 per hit), which means you obviously shot slightly higher scoring targets on average than me in that game. I guess you either play this game shooting everything in sight and score a low score to hit ratio, or aim for big targets and get a high score to hit ratio. I'm not sure which is best to be honest - I don't think it really matters.
  5. That is the hardest thing about this game - suddenly switching from bombing everything to shooting. And the plane always seems to turn up when you least expect it!
  6. Thanks Rick. I can see a lot of people getting close to this score limit though - I'm not that great at Bump n Jump!
  7. It's a bit tricky to judge what score you're at as it only shows your score when you crash. Bump n Jump Special Scoring: 98,228
  8. Ah OK - I see what you're doing, though it's a slightly strange way to play the game - I guess you've just got to crash your remaining cars once you get to the score limit!i (One alternative way to do this would be to ask people to take a photo of their screen after the second roadway pitstop (regardless of lives left). Top score wins - any scores of 100,000 are disqualified). Anyway, I'll give it a try and see how close to the limit I can get. Hitting 99,998pts exactly does sound pretty impossible! ?
  9. I have to admit I'm a bit confused about the scoring in this! Why is there a limit of 99,998 pts? I realise you don't want people to get more than one 50,000 bonus for not bumping any cars, but you can still score over 100,000 points in a game by just bumping cars after that. There's no limit to the scoring as far as I can see. Or are you limiting the game to just two seasons/roadways - a clear run followed by one of bumping cars? ?
  10. Does anyone know what the point of the "hits" figure is when your final score is displayed? Is it good to have a high or low hits total? I don't really see what the point of it is or how it matters! ?
  11. I've never given this game a proper go before. I remember renting it out from the local video shop as a child. I've never laughed so much playing a game - 2 player with my best friend playing as the zombie was hilarious! Anyway, here's my best score so far. I don't think I'm going to improve on this. I don't know how Rick managed to get over 20K - very impressive scoring! Dracula - Hard Level: 16,700
  12. If I remember correctly, you can bring up your score after the game's finished by pressing a button (disc or a side fire button).
  13. I've improved my scores a bit. I had a nightmare midway through that Burgertime game and lost 4 lives on one level, so quite pleased to salvage a decent score from it! Burgertime: 288,250 Diner: 285,400
  14. I own the Dracula cart but I've never been too good at it! This is my best so far: Dracula (hard level) : 5,750pts
  15. Haha, I thought that as well. At least in Burgertime you're making decent looking burgers (although trampling all over the patties, buns and ingredients as you build them isn't particularly hygienic)! In Diner, you're kicking unidentifiable "food balls" down ramps and making some weird gloopy mess down at the bottom - really not very appetising at all! I don't think that the Diner would get too many customers with that sort of service, but perhaps I'm over thinking it!! ???
  16. I've played both emulation and original hardware and haven't noticed any difference between them. Each enemy type responds in a different way to your position, so I'm not sure if you're expecting them all to behave the same way and when they don't, you're thinking they are just doing what they want (forgive me if that'd not what you're thinking!). Generally if you're standing on the same level as an enemy and there is a ladder up and a ladder down before they reach you, the hot dogs will go down the ladder and the fried egg and pickle will go up the ladder. However, if you're above any of the enemies or below any of the enemies, they will move towards you (they will go down if you're below them and go up if you're above them). As you progress through the game, this changes a bit, but that's the general mechanic as I see it. I personally haven't noticed any difference in the way this works between emulation and the original game.
  17. Here are my first entries. I can see how you could get enormous scores on Diner if you have the patience! It's nowhere near as fun as Burgertime though. It's also making my eyes bleed looking at the awful colours and graphics! ?? Burgertime: 276,200 Diner: 250,850
  18. Burgertime is one of the best games on the Intellivision without a doubt! Everything about it is just right. My first impressions of Diner though is that graphically it's a complete mess! I find it really hard to work out where the "food balls" are going to go when you kick them, and it's not very easy to see what's supposed to be up and what's supposed to be down. Saying that, it actually seems quite fun to play, but I'm terrible at it!
  19. Just managed to break through the 2000 mark! I don't think I'll improve much on this though. Utopia 30/30: 2,093 pts
  20. No, I didn't record this one unfortunately. I've got the hang of this game again now though so I'll try to do another one for TG at some point soon!
