  1. My last go - managed to break 100,000 points so I'm happy with that! Nova Blast - Cadet level: 105,950
  2. Great game! - and I've never really given Diner a proper go, so it'll be interesting to play that. I'm curious how these games fit into the Race and Space theme though! I guess you're racing away from the hot dogs and pickles? ??
  3. I've just bought a cheap CRT TV on ebay so I can play my original Intellivision without the screen going crazy! This was an absolutely terrible game, but I managed to improve my score a bit. Nova Blast cadet level (original hardware): 91,650
  4. A bit of an improvement for me but not cracked 2000 points yet. I think I need to find a way to improve my scores in the early stages. Utopia - 30/30: 1,998 pts
  5. My first go at this. Thought I did pretty well, and avoided any disasters/shipwrecks, but still some way off Rick's score! UTOPIA - 30/30: 1,898 PTS
  6. I used to play this game against one of my friends when I was young and really enjoyed it, despite the fact that he used to deliberately sink all my fishing boats with his pt boats! I can't remember how to play it at all now though so will need to refresh my memory. Great game though - a real classic.
  7. Ah I see. Well, I've got the cartridge and my original console (it's actually on that I've got my best scores in the past). I'll have a look at hooking it up again some time soon and submitting a score to TG. Thanks guys. ?
  8. Amazing. ? I'm not sure how to video gameplay though (other than using a mobile phone!) . Does anyone know how to do that? I'm emulating via an Ultimate Flashback/Raspberry Pi. Is there software you can get to do that?
  9. No way?! I've got scores over 120,000 on Nova Blast before! Surely the world record must be higher than that?! ? Perhaps not many people play it!
  10. I really don't remember this game being as hard as this. It all gets a bit frantic once the water walkers appear! Nova Blast: 73,000
  11. It was a good idea, and a game I'd never tried before so thanks for adding it, Rick. That's what I like about the HSC - you can play the games you're familiar with/good at, but you also get a reason to play games you might never have tried out otherwise!
  12. Finally managed to win a few races after losing all my money several times! Horse Racing: $9,999
  13. Try it and see! ? I think it's good. It's a nice looking game, the sound effects and graphics are good (the laser in particular is pretty awesome!) and it's good fun. I've read some reviews that haven't really rated it, but personally I think it's a decent game.
  14. It's kind of a cross between Defender and Atlantis. You defend cities like in Atlantis, but have to fly your ship bombing and shooting at land and air based enemies.
  15. I remember buying this game in Argos (a store in the UK) for £26.99 in about 1984. It amazes me how much games cost back then - that must be £70 or more in today's money!
  16. I can't believe I've never played Loco-motion before, but having read a bit about it now, it seems Mattel were forced to launch it with virtually no fanfare and at a discounted price because Happy Trails had already come out and been a big success. I guess it explains why I missed it at the time - I didn't even know it existed! Having played the two games now, there are lots of things I like about Loco-motion but I have to say I still prefer Happy Trails. The ability to change direction in Happy Trails is a massive difference between the two games and I much prefer being able to do that over the random "panic" button in Loco-motion. I also think Happy Trails has better controls - speeding up and moving tiles feels snappier and the graphics and colours are more pleasing (to me at least!). There's more strategy involved in Loco-motion because of the variety of enemies and situations you can find yourself in, but I personally prefer Happy Trails' simpler gameplay. Anyway, enough of my blabbering, here's my latest scores for the two very similar but different games: Happy Trails: 146,144 Loco-motion : 74,325
  17. And my first Happy Trails effort. I totally messed up halfway through this game and went down to 1 life so I'm surprised I managed to hang on for a fairly decent score! Happy Trails: 125,461
