    It looks like my participation in this HSC will be a little shorter than expected! My raspberry pi-based Ultimate Intellivision Flashback has stopped recognising my Flashback controllers for some reason and I can't get it to find them (it just says "no gamepad detected"). Has anyone else had this happen to them? If I can get them to work again I'll give Dreadnaught Factor another go but otherwise I'll have to give up on posting a score for this round unfortunately. ?

    Hi guys, It's been quite a while since I last took part in a HSC so I thought I'd dust off the Intellivision and give this one a go! These are both games I've never played before so it'll be good to have the chance to try them out. Here's my best scores so far for White Water. (I'm still trying to get to grips with Dreadnaught Factor so no scores to post yet - level 5 is hard!!) ? White Water Game 1: 1:02.2 Game 2: 49.0

    You can add and delete as many as you like - every available game in theory. Emulators use rom files for each game and there are lots of websites that allow you to download them, though from a legality point of view, you should only really download rom files of games you already own physical copies of (cough cough). I'm sure there must be threads on here explaining how emulators work and the best sites to find game files.

    @Rickster8 As Mr_me said, my Flashback's no longer really a Flashback. It's just the shell with a Raspberry Pi computer inside running the jzintv emulator. I don't have my old Flashback innards any more, but someone like Byte Knight probably has lots of spares as he takes them out and replaces them.

    That's what I use - an Intellivision Flashback housing a Raspberry Pi emulator. I have my original console too, but use the emulator for the games I don't have physical carts of. I think it's an easy job to do but I'm not very techy, so bought my Raspberry Pi ready-made. Byte Knight (a member of Atariage) built mine. I'm not sure if he's still doing them, @Rickster8but you could try messaging him. He's very helpful.

    All sounds good Jacob! Thanks for all your work on this. If you need any suggestions for games, just let us know. I'm sure we've all got some we'd like to see on the list (Pacman's a game I've never been good at, but that's a good shout by IntyFanMatt).

    I'm so sorry to hear that Jacob. That must have been quite a shock. I know it's a cliche, but stories like these do remind you how important it is to make the most of the time we have. You just never know what's round the corner. ? Hang in there and thanks again for all your work on the HSC. A bit of light hearted (and often competitive!) nostalgia definitely helps us all get through the mess of 2020!

    Thanks. ? I was trying for one last big score on pinball too (I think I could have just drawn level with you if I'd leapfrogged Rickster and Ace's scores), but it was never going to happen. That 353k score of Ace's in particular was phenomenal! To be honest, you were easily the most consistent over the whole HSC. I would have felt I'd been very lucky if I had managed to catch you! Congrats on being a worthy winner, BiffMan. That was a lot of fun! ?

    +2 This has been a really great HSC. I've enjoyed trying out games I've never played before and revisiting some of the old favourites. It's been fun playing with you all - there's some great people on this forum! A big thank you especially to Jacob for running it all and for choosing such great games (even the Coleco ones ?!). It's been a welcome distraction during these strange times. Looking forward to the next one, once I've given my thumbs a rest! ?

    I'm still not consistent enough at this game. It was only on my 5th ball that I managed to rack up any sort of decent score - I had two that just went straight through the flippers. Still, quite pleased with that. 210,020

    I finally managed to get the golden ball! It didn't seem to help me a huge amount score-wise, but it was nice to experience another feature of the game anyway. I got the moving target on the second table too, but as usual, couldn't hit it! 132,980

    Nice score! I've never been able to make a golden ball appear. I had the moving target come up once, but didn't get anywhere near it!

    You don't need to get the letters in order. It's exactly the same as the previous levels with the hearts - just grab all of them that come down to you in any order. The red ladder in the middle of the ship gains a rung with each letter you catch. Once the ladder reaches the deck above, you've caught enough letters and it moves you to level 4.

    I'm always amazed how long it takes for me to get up to the second board, but how quickly I manage to come back down again! It's incredible how addictive this game is, given how frustrating it can be!
