  1. I have a modified Atari 7800 with s-video out. After around ten minutes of play, the screen will go black. The game is still playing because I can hear sounds and control the action. I just can't see anything. I turn off the machine and back on and I get a picture. Any ideas?

  2. I have a Kangaroo cabinet with atari volcano start buttons on it. From what I understand Kangaroo never had light up start buttons like Millipede and other games had. The buttons don't have two additional wires for the leds. I wondering if it is possible to wire up the leds to blink when a coin is inserted. I assume it would be similar to Dig Dug.

I'm not sure how that would work on an unmodified system considering 5V is too low an input voltage for the 7805 regulators inside the 5200.

How about a unmodified 2 port system? Same problem right? I wish I could find that link.

  4. Any chance we will see Pac-man DX be released? I have an old beta that doesn't really work very well on the Phoenix. It would be nice to have the completed version.

How about Space Invaders DX, The Maze of Galious and Lady Bug? I know DK is pretty much dead.

I got the same problem,  i bought a hdmi switch to do on off (like à reset) when i switch a cartrige and now work very fine, contact them if you  have problem, they gave me an excellent customer service and we fix the problem in the same day

Mine is more of a hardware problem since the cartridges don't work at all. White screen every time. We will work on an exchange this week.

Try unplugging the HDMI and power then turn on the system with no cartridge. Does it boot up the first time? Is it only powering off the system and then turning it back on that generates the white screen?

A cartridge will always generate a white screen. Without a cartridge, it is in black and white with the switch. I've even restarted the switch. I'll try it directly now.

There are 2 known issues at the moment.

The white screen on boot is one of them. Some TVs backfeed power to the system which keeps the system from powering all the way off. The best way to fix it is to use a HDMI switch inbetween the tv and Phoenix. Inserting some original games, like DK Jr., into the system when the power is off can actually power the system down and allow it to come back up. The other temporary option is to unplug the HDMI cable and put it back in.

I do have a switch between the second tv and the Phoenix. Turned it back on with no cart and it's in black and white.

I'm still holding out hope for a 7800 core. Would it be a difficult one to do?

A machine that does CV, 2600, 7800, and Intellivision would a dream come true

Better still a 7800 core with built in XM support. We may never get a physical XM but a FPGA version would rock.
