  1.

So, I've got some good news: until the end of October 2018, I will discount international shipping from $40 down to $25 flat-rate for any number of Lynx games you order direct from the Songbird website. To make this work, I will not include the plastic CD jewel cases in your order; you will need to supply your own. Just enter "NO CASES" in the shipping instructions, and I will manually refund $15 to you. You will of course receive the Lynx cartridge and printed CD insert / instructions, just not the plastic case itself.

Is the plastic inside your CD case cut out, or is it the normal one to hold the CD?

The cc65 ComLynx library exists but it works with 2 Lynxes only. One sender, one receiver. When you start connecting more Lynxes you get framing errors and need some kind of special code for handling who should talk and when.

Even with just 2 Lynxes a multiplayer mode would be great! :)

As somebody else said, most of us own more than 1 Lynx. Finding someone with a Lynx shouldn't be the problem.

  3. Opinions?

When the night falls I planned to have some loot from the car chase that would be useful - a night sight!

The question is: how dark should the interior be at night? Pitch black so that you can only see with the night sight? Or should I leave a little to be seen?

The original Lynx screen vs McWill makes a big difference here too. What do you think?

I'd prefer the nightvision instead of the flashlight. Looks more Bond-like (gadget).

The dark interior is great. Better than pitch black, where you have to scan the whole area.

  4. Hard Drivin is awesome as a technical showcase for the lynx, its basically a 3D polygon racing game on something with the same cpu as the NES!

Steel Talons is the better polygon showcase. It runs more fluidly (more fps).

  5. Samples used for extra effect and as speech sound effects are really fun though, like for example in APB. It'd be fun to see more of that in homebrew games.

On the PC-Engine some games (Blazing Lasers f. e.) use the synth chip for music and add samples ONLY for drums, which sounds fantastic.

Because the PC-Engine is an 8-Bit System too, this should be possible on the Lynx without wasting too much memory for samples.

    Has anybody ever tried this?

    Sage?

A new release entered the list!

    EJAGFEST SLIDESHOW by sage.

It's a tribute to the german retro-event and

    shows pics from 2000 - 2016.

Music by Der Luchs and Carts were made by

    Lynxman.

Duranik allowed us to use their small plastic

    case for this release!

    Don't miss the:

    European Atari Jaguar Festival 2017

    4. Nov. – 5. Nov.

    Hochstraße 26

    41352 Korschenbroich

    Germany

    See you there :-)

    Great!

    How much will it cost?

Discount for people pictured in the slideshow? ;)

  7.

Somewhere in the tunnels/pits.....don't remember. I thought it was probably my cartridge but since I sold all of them and I now use the SD card it still happens...

I have completed it on the Lynx, too. It never crashed.

Maybe your Lynx is faulty, or there are different versions of the game.

  8. What I mean by fractal rendering, is I am using a midpoint subdivision algorithm to build the display, similar to how the Lucasfilm Games group did back in the '80s. Actually the Suzy plays very little part in this part of my application, as they are very specific, optimized 65c02 assembly routines to fill the frame buffer, using a y-buffer.

You mean like Rescue on Fractalus and Koronis Rift? :-o

Great! Count me in for a copy.
