Go diagonal down from the top when they are on their way in and straight down slightly off center on the way out. diagonal seems to work well in this version for some reason even though I could never hit that way in the original. I think I have hit from the side before, but it almost never works.

Intellivision HSC Season 16 - Game 5 - Night Stalker
crade replied to Rickster8's topic in Intellivision High Score Club
Respawning site is in the safe zone.. Until you have played too long and gotten too far, then they take away your safe zone so you die faster! die already! -
Another trick is that the you can hit the recognizers as soon as they show up and while they are leaving. The recognizers are definitely your friend in deadlier discs since they refill your health and give you big bonus score. If you keep the doors open, they will often just keep coming over and over

It's more critical to block the white discs in deadlier discs I think to get a breather. Killing the guys will just have another guy pop out, maybe right beside you, maybe with another white disc and kick your butt, but if you block the disc, that guy is out of the fight for several seconds so you can reposition or even get a recognizer to recharge your life. Not sure if it's intentional or not, but if you push throw disc in any direction after you block and get your disc destroyed, it comes back immediately.

What have you actually PLAYED tracker for 2022 (Season 15)

NES: 45 minutes - R.B.I. Baseball - For HSC. I'm terrible at this game. -
I don't think one stop shopping is necessary at all, one nice thing about digital is that creators can release their own work. Maybe it's just me, I just keep running across ROM releases that I never even heard of and I'm having trouble figuring out what is out there currently when it was released, where you can get it, what versions have been made available, and what was once released to buy and is not available anymore at all, and what was once released and is now free, which ROMs are demo versions, which paid roms have demos available to try etc, etc. Usually the only time I know something is available is when I happen watching when the thread about the digital release goes up. I also don't have any locked ones, but I have no idea what I am missing The only reason I knew Ghadlan' Thur was available is because it was nominated for the digital release this year, and it's spectacular. The awards was great, really appreciate the effort that went into those awards. Makes me wonder what else I missed though

1000 isn't really all that much.. Many people probably got 2.. Some people probably just got the LTO to play the main library, Some might have one (or two) for testing their own stuff I'm sure there are a bunch that only got for collecting Many people probably bought one (or two) and then had some sort of life change (got busy with other crap) and don't follow the forum anymore and may come back at some point I also really appreciate the digital roms, I find it tough to justify all the space and environmental impact of physical releases anymore for anything that doesn't actually need to be physical. I personally would be willing to pay a bit more for roms since I don't usually buy physical releases anymore. Maybe a different model would work better, like kickstarter or a tiered model but I think a big trouble is that a big part of the market for intellivision games are collector only and digital releases don't look good on a shelf? I do find the intellivision digital rom market to be kindof confusing, roms that you bought end up being released for free and visa versa, ROMS can jump from one store to another, the DRM thing makes things complicated. I think a good pinned rom release checklist might do wonders

Probably for the best.. I've played the real thing before and as I recall there was an awful lot of waiting in line

Next time there should be bonus points for outlasting the intellivision. Who knew Mouse Trap was pushing the limits of the technology! It was ahead of it's time in so many ways... -
Intellivision HSC Season 16 - Game 3 - Mouse Trap

On the intelli you need to click the disc like a dpad. Holding the direction you want doesn't work worth crap. Maybe try the dpad on the xbox controller? -
Intellivision HSC Season 16 - Game 4 - Buzz Bombers
crade replied to Rickster8's topic in Intellivision High Score Club
Just claim it was intentional to go with the story -
It's a non issue. Anyone who downloads the ROM without paying wasn't going to buy it. Worst case your rom gets stuck in a bundle every random out there downloads and you are out nothing from those people who weren't going to buy anyway and best case some of them are impressed enough to go buy it afterward. Edit To each there own of course, I just don't see it as realistic you are going to have people from a close community like this who know how much work goes into these deciding they are going to go searching online for a way to avoid supporting the devs, or inversly that you would have non community people who randomly come across this rom online who would have been customers otherwise either

My Intellivision Top 10 Favorite Games...
crade replied to Rickster8's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
lost caves of kroz - special place for me, my brother came by for christmas and we spent many an hour trying to figure out the puzzles. First time we played intellivision together in probably 30 years Sea Battle - Might help that it's 2 player only and so never get to play it Utopia - Really only like this one 2 player as well Tron Deadly Discs - Not many games feel like they were actually made for the intellivision controller Dreadnaught Factor - look at those graphics! Lock N Chase - controls are smooth as butter! (wink wink nudge nudge) Burgertime - never was very good at it Space Spartans - To me this is the beginning of Real Time Strategy games Astrosmash - The only game my mom ever played with us Bomb Squad - Just feels fresh and different for games from this era I'm sure I'll remember some that I like better, but those look good for now. -
Intellivision HSC Season 16 - Game 4 - Buzz Bombers

I wasn't sure if that was a pic of the score or the sat night live performance! -
I'm good with space spartans instead of Tron if you guys like, I love it but from the last thread of space spartans it looked like everyone hated it, and I'm sure Tron is played all the time anyway STARBASE 1, UNDER ATTACK!

What happened to Q*bert such that new jzintv doesn't run it? Seems like an interesting story I am missing out on haha
-
you might want to have two groups of scores instead? minotaur killed above ranked first then others? i owned this game my whole childhood played a ton and never actually cleared it lol might be a bit harsh if we have noobies

A lot of HSC activity this Week. Second week for Tutankham, although I barely improved from last week. First week for Mouse Trap, the controls were so bad on it that I had to pull out Lock and Chase just to make sure I my controller was working! Picked up the new digital ROMS for intellivision released this week. I'm terrible at donkey kong. INTV (on intellivision 1 and intellivision 2): 158 minutes: Tutankham 255 minutes: Mouse Trap 5 minutes: Lock N Chase 10 minutes: Melody Runner 25 minutes: D2K Arcade DOS (on PC/DosBox): 105 minutes: Tie Fighter Collection CDRom Played the special edition last week and got it all configured, but the music is so much better in this one. PSX ( Original Discs on PC/ePSXe ) 25 minutes: Tenchu Shinobi-Gaisen 50 minutes: Tenchu Shinobi-Hyakusen I picked up these Tenchu games for PSX a way way back because Tenchu was my favorite PSX game and I thought these might be have more similar stuff. Tenchu is such a gorgeous game. I wasn't super impressed with these two tangents, Shinobi-Gaisen is mostly just an enhanced Japanese release to bring the features they didn't get from Stealth Assassins. One extra feature it got though was a level editor. Hyakusen is a collection of Fan made levels from the level editor. The first few levels aren't great and no story.
