  3. I'm wondering which game had the first Options/Settings screen. Early games were as simple as Switch-on, Select Your level, and Play . Modern Games almost all have an Options Menu with over hundreds to choose from such as Audio, Graphics, Gameplay settings, etc.
  4. I can never understand whats so bad with Windows ME, and why ppl called it the 'Mistake Edition' it certainly beats Windows 98 SE for stability. I have Windows ME installed on my old Intel Pentium 266mhz 320MB RAM machine, and its perfect, installing WinXP over the old machine would make it too slow. I had WinME installed on that machine for over 5 years, an my OS hasn't corrupted yet, plus its comes with Windows Movie Maker just like WinXP.
  5. Thanks I got it going now, main thing I didn't know you had to press the Escape Key to continue after inserting the required disk, and theres me bashing Spacebar or Enter. Now I can play it!
  6. Thanks for the disk images, so I know I don't have corrupt copies then, because it does the same thing. I used the player disk to boot, it tells me to insert Dultipcate disk, and I think i'm in need of AtariDOS or I can't get any further, is this freely downloadable somewhere, or is this treated like a rom and can't be distributed. Because I've been trying to search for a disk image with AtariDOS or is it MyDOS and had no luck so far ?
  7. I think I'm getting a picture now, theres a ultity somewhere on the Program (boot)Disk, I guess I have to use AtariDOS or something to find it and execute it. Then use a blank disk image with it.
  8. I tried turning of Fast Disk Access on Atariwinplus, but it doesn't make any difference other than faster loading.
  9. I can seem to play Ultima II on any emulator, I don't understand. I'm using Atari800Win Plus 3.1, I boot it up, I then press P to Play a game of Ultima II, then it soon says "(Insert Player Disk)", so I click on File>Attach Disk> and I select the player disk image, but nothing happens, I can't cannot get any further than that. No sign of disk activity or nothing. I gave up on that, and downloaded the Apple II version of Ultima II using Apple IIe Emulator for windows v1.12.9.1, and I get stuck at the exact same spot, where it says "(Insert Player Disk). I insert the Utlima 2 player disk image, then press SPACE or ENTER, nothing happens... Is there some sort of combination of keys I'm suppose to press? I have pressed every key I know off on my PC keyboard and its got me stumped.
  10. I'm the opposite, I found Ghost'n'Goblins quite easy and Ghouls'n'Ghosts way too hard.
  11. I hate Steam, its such a greedily hog with my connection, I mean I got Steam installed for Half Life 2, I can play offline, but once I mistakely loaded up Steam while I was still connected to the internet, and its was initialising or something, it really needed all my connection for something, about hour later I gave up, (I had no idea what it could possibly be doing) and quit steam with the ALT CTRL SHIFT, restarted my computer, and Half Life 2 would never load again. Never played Half Life 2 again, but If I got a spare 5 hours oneday, I may re-install it from scratch, but Half-Life 2 was the biggest waste of money ive ever spent.
  12. More than enough to play the game, This is what first comes typing dxdiag and Display Devices The game runs very smooth, hardly any lag at all, I might not been getting all the speical affects because of the graphics card, just crashing every time I try to save or it the game automatically saves.
  13. I finally fixed it somehow, I can play now offline, I've never come across a game so painful to install like that. Trouble is now, my game just keep crashing or locking up every times it auto-saves, this is completely preventing any fun for this game. I can't find a way to turn auto-save off. Right now i've just given up, some error engine.dll and closes if I try running it in a window to try to solve the problem.
  14. I purchased Half-Life 2, and I had to go online, to create an account and enter my serial number and for it to download updates. So far, the game took me over 3 hours to install, but I got it going and all, and works well, trouble is I have to be online to just to play the game. Theres a box, called OFFLINE Mode, and when I click on that, it comes with error, such as could not connect to... This really bothers me having to go online just to play an offline game. I do believe it can be played offline, and should be played offline, but how... Any ideas ?
  15. Beach Head would be another No no.. Beach Head requires you to press keys 1-4 to select your skill level before you play the game, now try that with just a joystick
  16. I have mixed feeling about this one, reminds me of the failed attempt of the unsuccessful C64GS, the keyboardless C64 thats was technically a console. Althought this is different, but built-in 30 games isnt many considering the huge software library that exists for the 64. Dunno looks like it got built in Hardware to emulate the games, which really isnt the real thing at all... But love the idea, that only 4 AA batteries are only required the power it up! Summer Games wouldn't be much fun 1 player, also I guess it wouldn't be able record your world records, what make the real version so entertaining. Also includes Gateway to Asphai, that would be unplayable with just the joystick, Gateway also require the use of the keyboard (function keys) during gameplay... Ok, theres 30 games built in, but how many of them can you actually play?..
  17. Howdy, with so many Apple II emulators on the net, im looking for a decent one that actually has Save States I use AppleWin 1.12 which is an excellent emulator, and even emulates a mockingboard, but cannot find a way or is there... thats lets you Save States. so, im looking elsewhere, A good emulator (Save states of course) for a P3 PC (WindowsXP) Thanks....
  18. After searching keys so hard, I finally found the West key (Shift/Plus) but couldn't find the East key at all, until i found already a Ultima III keyboard template file (did I put it there or did it come with AtariWinPlus? ) in the Atariwin folder. Now moving is much easier, arrows for East/West. but oddly for North and key for South. Buts its much better now anyway...
  19. Howdy, the other day, i wanted to play the Atari version of Ultima III, so i use AtariWinPlus, and created up my party and all that ok, but when it came to play the game, I could only move North and South. Cannot figure a way to move East or West, does any one know out to move East or West in Ultima III on AtariWinPlus ?
  20. Something has gone seriously wrong with updated version. On PAL Games, the colours are all wrong and it plays too fast. And whatever happened to Pitfall 2, it sounds awful.
  21. Hi, I wanna play Ultima II with AtariWinPlus, but everytime I get to a point where it asks to insert PLAYER disk, so I change disk images and yet nothing after that happens. Is there a speical key im suppose to press after "inserting the disk"? I get to this point (see screenshot below), after the Title screen, I press P to play a game of Ultima, until this message appears everything appears to lock up . Can someone help cause the Atari 800 version is my favourite version of Ultima 2. Thanks !
  22. Hi, looking at the screenshots, it seems Truxton is the game im was talking about! And don't worry, I can get the ROMS, alright. Ill go and find out!... thanks i really didnt think I would ever come across this game again. well ill let ya know! im sure Truxton must be the game.
  23. Maybe!.. looks simular, I won't be able to find out until I test it.
  24. * Cant edit my post for some reason!... ? Sorry about the double post. But it can't be Raiden 2, as according to the Coin-Top museum, this game didnt come out to 1993 I know it was a game in the very late 80s. but 93 is way far off. hmmm, any more suggestions?...
  25. Well looking at the screenshots it wasn't Galaga '88, but maybe it was Raiden 2, im not sure until I test this within MAME and ill should notice it straight away. So, Ill get back here to let yous know if it was successful or unsucessful. Another thing I can remember, the game played noticeable Music aswell, with (well watching other ppl play), was this bright white/gray zigzag continusously Lazer, which I looked at, a bit of a cheat really (well its looked like it!) Just really wanna play this game...
