  1. I got the idea that people have already done that. I certainly don't want to be a bother, and he has (or his company has) released a couple other things in the meantime. Before disturbing him, I wanted to check first to see if anyone knew anything about the project. Edit: Sadly, I don't see an email, and they don't respond to questions about its status on its Youtube page:
  2. Bought some games from me. Smooth transaction and quick payment. Thanks and enjoy!
  3. I'll second the charge against Best Electronics. Very unresponsive. Their s-video mod crapped out on me not too long after they shipped back (although the composite still worked fine) and I never heard from them again.
  4. Just echoing what some people have said, but the ColecoVision is the best console to own from the pre-NES days (the 2600 would be #1 but a 7800 has backwards compatibility). It's graphics are very impressive even to those who didn't necessarily grow up with it (I can't be alone in that thought). It has superior versions of quite a few cross-platform games. Even if a game here or there is better elsewhere, you're usually getting a top-tier port regardless. When I tried to narrow the number of consoles I had from that era, the ColecoVision, 7800, and NES covered all my needs pretty thoroughly (sorry INTV owners!). And of course the new games really add to that as well. Gulkave, Ninja Princess, Moon Patrol, and many more. The controller is crap, for sure, but there are ball top mods for it you can get. Not sure why you care too much about the box, unless you display it? There are consoles that hard to justify owning, like the Super Cassette Vision, but in my opinion, the ColecoVision is not one of those.
  5. It gets worse when it comes to PS1 games, too. Region locking is the biggest scam these companies pull.
  6. @GoldLeader I never knew about Jaki Crush! I have the PC Engine games, they're great and some of the few pinball games I own, but now I'll have to track down this, too!
  7. I didn't love Millipede, so I didn't mentioned it, but it did get some other releases, notably Gyruss. Space Invaders was released but only in Japan. Same with Galaxian.
  8. The same NES that was first released in 198, just two years after Galaga hit the arcades? Both Galaxian and Galaga on the system are excellent ports, better than most other conversions (though I'm still eager to try the new 2600 port of Galaga). I can't think of any reason why we couldn't have excellent arcade conversions on the most popular machine after the 2600.
  9. I don't have Facebook, but 2 minutes on the Reddit really turned me off from that site, and snippets I've seen from FB don't seem much better. BBS for life! Then again, NA was a pretty toxic place too with a very unhealthy obsession with graded games amongst other illnesses.
  10. Just a little while ago: It's a long time in the making, though. With NintendoAge gone and forums in general dying off, it's nice to see AtariAge expand a little bit to accommodate another console sub-forum, even if many think Nintendo killed Atari. ?
  11. ActRaiser Contra III Demon's Crest Donkey Kong Country Final Fantasy IV/V/VI Gradius III Hagane Link to the Past Mega Man X Secret of Mana Skyblazer Sonic Wings Soul Blazer/Illusion of Gaia/Terranigma Super Aleste (Space Megaforce) Super Castlevania IV Super Mario World Super Metroid Turtles in Time Zombies Ate My Neighbors
  12. Ah, yes, we should always listen to stockholders about the dangers of corporatism. ?
  13. I know I'm asking the wind here, but this was one of my favorite demos for the NES...back when it was dropped in 2011... http://morphcat.de/superbatpuncher/ Is anyone aware of any information about it's potential completion? I see he/they have released two games recently.
  14. And one of the best shooters on the NES, along with: Zanac Gradius Life Force/Salamander Abadox Recca Fun but not as good as the above include Dino Riki and King's Knight. Maybe Star Soldier.
  15. The NES board was created just a few days ago. Here's its inception: What was done was to move the posts from other forums into it. You must have been thinking of the NES High Score Club.
  16. Seconded. There are a couple of high ticket items I still want, but it always has to be tied to a good game. Anything else is just madness to me.
  17. It's also far more affordable than collecting the rarities.
  18. If you buy a converter cart or make your own, you can play Famicom games on the NES, too, which give you great versions of Galaxian, Goonies, and Nuts & Milk. You can also get solid games like Son son, Battle City, and Kid Dracula. Some games that came out in the US are different enough to get the JP version, too, like Ninja Gaiden 3, which is a bit easier than the US version (but is also the original game - the US version was artificially made more difficult, even if the JP version is too easy compared to the rest of the series) and Salamander (= Life Force). Other great games not yet mentioned are: Batman: Return of the Joker Bubble Bobble Bucky O'Hare Goonies 2 Kabuki Quantum Fighter Kid Icarus Metroid Shatterhand StarTropics 1 & 2 Zelda
  19. That makes me wonder about a good stick for shooters. I have the Hori Fighting Stick, but I'm not really into PCE fighters. What are some other options?
  20. To be fair, CDPR said they'd offer console users refunds. This is just Sony finally going along with it.
  21. People were complaining (and sending in death threats) when the game was delayed, so it's really a damned if you, damned if you don't situation.
  22. Link me whenever you start the hot sauce thread. I'm eager to up my game in that area.
