  1. It is so cool how you have replicated it starting from a screenshot. Kudos!
  2. Cool! It took you barely 40 minutes to get it! Excellent. Thank you!
  3. Since my book sales broke several of my own records (and thanks to everyone for that!) I was willing to do a kind of celebration, but instead I passed the whole morning searching in Pixabay and designing this old-style advertisement. Enjoy it! Bonus points if you discover from where I got the idea Happy New Year!
  4. And now it is available in Amazon! Hard-cover: https://www.amazon.com/-/es/dp/1387838148/ Paperback: https://www.amazon.com/-/es/dp/1387809962/
  5. I'm very happy to say that this book has broken the sales record of my previous books. So I only can say: Thanks to everyone for your support! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  6. Don't forget to clear the memory. CoolCV has a particular pattern for RAM initialization very similar to real hardware.
  7. I'm waiting to see where it goes, also currently I don't have too much time.
  8. Hi all! Your kingdom is in great despair since the king disappeared. The legend says that the crown is hidden somewhere in this world, maybe if you can find it, you can become the king! The objective of the game is simple: explore the world, find the crown, become the king!!! There are no enemies in this game. Move the peasant with the joystick directions. To take objects you simply pass over them. You can drop objects just by pressing the joystick buttons. You cannot go to certain places if you don't have the right object! Find attached the complete source code for the game, fully commented. And if you would like more detailed explanations about how it works, you can get my new book Programming Games for Atari 2600. the_lost_kingdom.bin the_lost_kingdom.asm
  9. Added a PAL50 version. I didn't change the colors because I liked the new color set.
  10. Thank you! Thanks! Wow! Thanks! Yes, indeed the hardcover version is easier for reference because it can stand open. Very good! BTW, just added two videos showing the book in the first post.
  11. It becomes zero! I should have ordered some patches for people rolling the score!!! I considered increasing difficulty but I didn't want to overload the code. After all, it was written to be easy to learn. It is a good idea to make a PAL version for Git, so people can do a comparison of the two versions.
  12. The eBook is in PDF format. And a big thank you from me! Wow! Thank you! Your name sounds pretty similar! Haha! Thank you! Amazing name! It is directed at beginners and it is self-contained to avoid referring outside the book. If you have a basic understanding of the command-line, binary and hexadecimal it will work for you.
  13. Thank you! All of these games have been expressly written from zero for the book. The first three are remakes of already known games (i.e. Pong, Breakout, and Space Invaders), but are required for learning purposes. The Lost Kingdom is a kind of Adventure game designed differently (I've rethought it many times so it can be easily modified by readers as the basis for other games), and I've just published Diamond Craze in this forum. I wanted to put even more games in the book, but I realized that if you are learning then it would be overwhelming for the reader, and already it was running to 340 pages! It is a thick book!
  14. Hi all. After years of searching, you have found a cave containing the biggest and most perfect diamonds. You only need to take them for selling! Unfortunately, these are guarded by monsters that wonโ€™t stop catching you. The danger is there, but your greed is greater! New casual game for a rainy afternoon! It has two difficulties: Difficulty B = Monster are slow. Difficulty A = Monsters run so fast as you. Reset to stop the game. Select to start the game. You have four men for your diamond heist! Find attached the ROM for the game and the commented source code. It can be assembled with dasm and requires vcs.h from the dasm package. I've wrote this game as an example for my new book Programming Games for Atari 2600, and you can get the book if you want to see a more detailed explanation of how it works. Enjoy it! diamond_craze.asm diamond_craze.bin diamond_craze_pal50.bin

  16. In fact on each gameplay the maze is a completely new one.
  17. The artwork is losely based on me after discovering a pizza on the table. This time Rev is too busy, so it will be published with another seal.
  18. You don't need to remind a man to do something every week. It is enough a remind every year.
  19. I'm still arranging the details. Already I've polished the games, and I've been given some suggestions.
