Just Yesterday, the game can be preordered along other 3 coming out from Homebrew Inc. The first shipment as I understand, will be only in groups of the four games. If you are interested only in Mr. Chess, you can also write to homebrewinc [at] hotmail (dot) com to get into the second shipment.

Thanks to @timdu for reminding of uploading an updated version of The Leprechaun's Flight that I published on the Intellivision Homebrew Group on Facebook. You now can select two different characters to play, and also there is an easy difficulty mode, because I noticed several people (including me) had trouble advancing in the game. You can find this new ROM in the first post.

The latest news is that Mr. Chess engine now is faster when playing, and stronger also there are intro screens for the tournament characters The main problem of the beta-testers is now to outsmart it to check that the tournament mode is fully working

Unfortunately you cannot adapt this PCB to a 4K EPROM memory, because it is missing the contact pad in the bottom of PCB (the 5th pad from the right in your first picture) The missing pad is the A11 address line, required for a 4K memory.

It sounds good for me. You need to implement it so you can see how it feels.

The most common bug is using a period instead of a comma. IntyBASIC reports it but continues parsing, so your data could be mis-aligned.

I've some good news: The game has a publisher attached, and he likes "Mr. Chess" The newest version of the game allows to promote to any valid piece. Also, the board setup is now done in a separate mode to ease the editing of the chessboard.

Finally, I managed to get a decent playing speed for the chess engine, and also squashed all the bugs. It was like riding in bicycle, you start to remember things as you go. 😉 I've sent the ROM to my wide testing group, currently composed of one two three person people 🤪

I forgot to say it has castling, en passant, and promotion. Also it can use the USCF Chess overlays I think Atomchess doesn't have "catch" for a box. I'll think another name.

The stories are a good idea. I'll think about it. The puzzles would require a lot of development. At this moment I'm trying to make faster the engine.

I cannot believe I've added a tournament mode complete with tiny pictures Midori can play against Monkey, Sue, and Professor Shifu.
