  1. Welcome to the forum! The Intellivision cartridges are complicated enough in such a way that the average homebrewer cannot make these himself. If you are trying to test your own game, you should get an LTO-Flash, a Backbit cartridge with Intellivision adaptor, or a Cuttle Cart 3. If you prefer to build things yourself, then you can try the most recent development: a T-Card that uses off-the-shelf components https://forums.atariage.com/topic/347603-t-card-for-the-intellivision/ Alternatively, you can contact people that manufactures PCBs on a on-demand basis like @5-11under
  2. Movement validation is now implemented. Missing end of game detection. Maybe some sound effects, and a title screen.
  3. I think playing chess is a very good ability to help planning things for the daily life. BTW, I just finished implemented en passant, castling, and promotion.
  4. I don't know. Out of curiosity, I could do a gameplay between the two. Thanks! BTW, a few years ago I saw your video of Intellivision USCF Chess vs Atari Videochess.
  5. I managed to correct the bugs in the engine. Currently, the engine is very basic (284 lines of assembler code), and it doesn't play "complicated" movements like promotion, castling, or en passant. I should be sleeping, but instead I put the clocks, and smooth movement of pieces.
  6. Well, I don't do this to sell. It is just for the thrill of getting something with better graphics, or better playability, or both.
  7. Hi all. I was drawing some "fat" chess pieces à la VIC-20, and I decided to port Toledo Atomchess just as an exercise. However, it is becoming harder than I thought. Anyway, I snapped a vanity screenshot, and I wanted to share it. So far it doesn't require any extra RAM memory.
  8. From my list you can see the Aurimat sticker outside of the box is rare. I've only one box (Tennis) with it.
  9. It took me a while but found Barry Silverman's Github page here, and it contains his email address https://github.com/trebonian The Visual6502 projects source code https://github.com/trebonian/visual6502 is mostly on MIT license. Probably the die image falls also under the MIT license, but to be sure you would need to ask to the author.
  10. Jokes apart, I'll build another breadboard to test fifteen VDP chips that I'm pretty sure are duds.
  11. Wondering how many Colecovision on a breadboard should have a guy
  12. I had a similar trouble with a labeled EPROM that appeared as blank. I just polished the pins by the internal sides and it got alive. Once you dumped both you can easily concatenate both in DOS: COPY /B ROM1.BIN+ROM2.BIN ROM.BIN Or in macOS: cat rom1.bin rom2.bin >rom.bin
  13. I would suggest to polish the pins on the sides were the programmer catchs it. I did that myself with several memories.
  14. The TMS9118 generates composite video, so it would one plug for video and another for audio. However, I didn't had another plug, so I opted for a tiny speaker. But yes, it is easy to output sound to TV. The Colecovision combines both signals into the RF.
  15. I've dumped all the memories, and I've sent the binaries to @Tempest The unlabeled EPROM were empty. atari_protos_from_nanochess.zip
  16. It looks cool! I would need to research this. I think there is already an open source TMS9918 core with VGA output. However, I would need to study how to generate a TV output.
  17. I think yes, but finding an inexpensive FPGA is almost as hard as tracking a TMS9118. In fact, I've a turtle, and it grew up from a stamp size to bigger than my hand in only two years! But happily it doesn't jump over my breadboards
  18. The VDP is the most difficult one. I had to order from four different suppliers, only one could supply a working VDP. I suspect there are remarked chips, but I'll test later. The sound chip isn't hard to get. Interestingly it was hard to find a 4mhz Z80 and 2K RAM, so I got a 6mhz one. It operates on a single power supply of 5V+
  19. Now I need to take some detailed pictures! (and test a Princess Quest cartridge)
  20. Hi all. For a whole year I've been collecting components for repairing my aging Colecovision consoles (I have two), and for a long time, I had the idea to build a simplified one on a breadboard. I decided to start by building a video board, but apparently I got some non-working video chips, and it stalled me but fortunately I decided to order video chips from another seller. I restarted the project by doing a Z80 board with 8K of EPROM, and 2K of RAM, along a memory decoder compatible with the Colecovision. Once the Z80 was working, and I got the new VDP chip, I put together both boards and managed to get a working Colecovision BIOS screen. In the next two days I built the interface for sound, cartridge, and joystick (only one controller). I think for being a hobby it came out pretty nice! At the same time, I was willing to try some video editing and I got hooked! First milestone: Z80 board. Second milestone: VDP board. https://youtube.com/shorts/-0sjp-fSgOk?feature=share (for some reason this couldn't be embedded) Third milestone: Cartridge connector. And the last milestone: The joystick interface
  21. Having all these in a box, so I got a quick glance at all. I'll upload the warrant cards for Sharp Shot and Frog Bog, also the front of the Tennis box because the sticker, and a picture of the Tennis cartridge. Apparently the M marked cartridges are rare. BTW @Morpheus please send me via PM your address, I think I bought twice from the same guy, and the NFL Football manual came alone in the second shipment, and probably it is part of your game so don't let it stand separated!
