Hello All, I've moved from MA to CA. Things have been hectic, to say the least. I should have posted sooner (like when Stone sent me his PM ). I just don't have nearly as much time as I used to have. I started working within days of arriving here and things haven't slowed down much. I will certainly make an effort to check-in more often. I'll be moving into a house of my own shortly, so hopefully I'll have more time then. JaySmith, I'm pretty close to you now and would love to see your HW collection sometime. Mine won't be set-up for at least a few more months. I did get a house that's plenty big enough. Now I can try to score a kiosk! Saturn, I miss you too, Man! Good to see this forum is alive and well. -Gregg

I inquired about a month ago about getting a copy and Clint said he'd email me back when copies are available. I haven't heard yet. I'd gladly wait as long as it took - even if he wanted a pre-order which wasn't offered. I will wait patiently.

Yeah, maybe I misunderstood But, as they say "3rd time's a charm". Maybe I'll get that bad boy for $350 . . . hehehe

Then again, maybe not Tony. Most people that list things a 2nd time on eBay usually lower the price to ensure a sale, thus avoiding the double listing fee. Seems like a SUPER way to make a sale, don't you all agree? Man, this $400 dollars is burning a hole in my banking account, too. Too bad T-bird has dibs on the other "Great Shape" kiosk for $999.99

Too Funny OTFLMAO T-Bird!

Jay, Yeah, my box is mint. I had sold Tony (t.skid) a copy that is Mint as well. Maybe Tony'll trade you his box? You can still pick them up from Go Atari for $80: http://www.goatari.com/at-jag-p.htm Funny how that title never makes their $.99 auctions on eBay I remember seeing it somewhere else for $70 - I just can't recall where. It was right after I had paid $80! If you want the box mint, it's probably your only hope. You never know, though - they do come up sometimes on eBay. I think Myst is more difficult to find a mint box for. I've bought several new copies and the boxes all have some "smooshing"

Why, yes, they are shrinkwrapped - thanks for noticing But don't worry - they're not NIB - I play my collections. I only wrapped them to protect them. For some reason, I think this system is going to be very valuable and highly collectible in the not too distant future. Hmm, I wonder why that could be . . . .

JaySmith has the mother of all collections!!! Jay, when are you going to start developing some games? It's a shame to let all that hardware go to waste! I have a few games. . . .hehehe

I already offered the guy $400 delivered to my door just south of Boston and he didn't even have the decency to reply. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait to complete my Jag collection. I'd prefer to have it complete, anyways.

Any updates on the development of this title

I hope GunStar reads your Chip's review, Clock!

The Lynx has games that are better than some on the Jag. I believe that's -what- an 8-bit soapdish

Continuation of whats the best game. whats the best seller?
TheBizDude replied to Nick Harlow's topic in Atari Jaguar
No doubt on T2K statement - and in triplicate EVEN! Dems fightin' words in this forum! That game brought 3D to a whole new level. When you're zonin' on those harder levels, it's like your brain is part of the game and your eyes and hands are just along for the ride. For game play, it's easily the best game on the system. -
I agree with GunStar and Stone's assessments. Interesting enough, there are only 3 titles rated as being 'pro controller compatible':

Easy on the 'submit' button, h_f! No way is Aircars highly circulated. If it was, we now know why the system died in its infancy. I know it wasn't released till '97, but the rumors started flyin' early on Wolfenstein 3D gets my vote for 3rD - it competed with the PC version. Possibly Doom, but being released later, it probably didn't fare as well. For production - wouldn't Cybermorph be tops in production? -
g) all of the above h) tempest and i) The controller just felt right in my hands! j) The VLM (my glory days of psychodelics). k) Those really cool commercials brain washed me - DO THE MATH. C'mon guys - let's finish the alphabet!

I'd like a copy of this game! Sign me up! -Gregg

Figured I'd add my $.02 to this mile-long thread :-) I have the original released version (J9000 700700) which came with my Jag the day it was released. I also have a boxed version (J9000E 700700-2). Both of these are black cases. The only other carts I have that are black are Raiden, Dino Dudes, T.McFur and Aircars. This makes sense to me because I purchased the 1st three when I picked the system up. Why Aircars is black is beyond me!

Yeah, If I had seen that lot in time, you and me would've been involved in a bidding war! I think you might just have the ONLY boxed Jagdapter in existance. I tried to get the un-boxed one that Don still had locked away in 'the vault'. bidding was crazy and I think it ended up going for over $200 - by that time I started eyeing the CatBox. How proprietary is the base on the kiosk. Or to ask another way, is it easily reproducable. It looked to me in the photos that it was a sort of metal file cabinet. Have you vented that puppy? I don't think i'd cut it - just place a few strategic fans.
-
Yeah, the winner of that lot scored BIG - was it you, T-Bird? IMO, that kiosk isn't worth a penny over $400 on my doorstep. It's "refurbished" - I still take it, though . . .hehehe He may have been offended by the offer, but it was an offer none-the-less and should have been responded to. What is a JAMMA cab? Is that the double screen NBA Jam size? A buddy of mine was describing the look on his wife's face when he showed up with one. He had to remove the door jam to get it in. A lot of 'jammin' goin on with those things! L8A! Gregg

Yeah BSF is the best 2-player game on the Jag, IMO. The other guy can't score goals his players all have NO heads! . . hehehe I guess that guy's not interested in parting with his kiosk, he never got back to me. It's so silly the $$$ those things are fetching. The last one on eBay went for over a grand. There was one about 6mos ago that went for $1500, but at least included almost every title and tons of extras. L8A! Gregg

Tony, Glad to see you're enjoying your Primal Rage! BTW, I'm trying to score that Jag Kiosk. I offered him $400 for it - we'll see if he bites. He'd have to deliver to Boston for that price and send LOTS of pics with his feedback rating. Can the person that saw this in Philly vouch for its condition? L8A! Gregg

Here's my full review of SOKOMANIA: I think this is one of the most addictive puzzlers on the Lynx. I find myself swearing up and down that a level is not possible, only to later figure out what I wasn't seeing. It really makes you think. I'd compare its strategy to the number sliding doo-dads of days gone by (or Vid Grid on the Jag). Some may not agree with hefty price tag that this game still carries. I say buy this one up before there are no more to be had. It's definitely worth it. Graphics - Simple but effective. Walls, Crates, Drop zones and the pulsing red dot that represents your 'forklift'. Sound - Nice music (though somewhat repetive) and the option to turn it off is a plus. I think it's called 'the entertainer' or at least a rip-off of it. Gameplay - Nothing fancy going here, just a little bit of brain power. You're not going to play it for hours on end. I try to make it through at least one level each time I play it. I'd compare its gameplay to Gridders, which was available on a few platforms in the early 90's. Options - There is a configuration option that falls somewhat into the category of gameplay. You can change the movement of your 'forklift' from choppy (for quick thinkers?) to smooth (for smooth people?). This option eliminates erroneous movements at inopportune times. Like at the end of a level in games like Crystal Mines and Chip's Challenge. It can still happen, but this option lessens the liklihood of you throwing your Lynx across the room. ***Please note that only a Lynx I will stand up to this type of abuse. Extras - None that I'm aware of. Overall - A definite must own for the serious Lynxer. PS - I rate this game a '10' in all areas, but others feel that this is only deserving of the cream of the crop games. In my opinion, this game is everything I'd hoped it would be - and then some! Maybe its overall is only a '9.5' due to the lack of extras!

Well - that being said, who's gonna supply me a PCB copy of Lode Runner?!?!?!?!?!?
