  1. This should be a poll. Anyway I choose RPG as my favourite.

    Lynx or Lynx 2?

I think the Lynx I is more comfortable to hold than a Lynx II - but I feel the differences are barely worth worrying about. I own both and would recommend both.
  3. It is easier for progression to play in a party after level 10, but I can assure you there are some very powerful solo players out there. I like a mix of solo and party - each provide a very different gaming experience. Solo is nice because you make all your own decisions, and can dip in and out of play as and when you feel. There are no restrictions. You play at a slower pace, but you do get a good sense of achievement. Party is nice because you can level up quicker, take on bigger foes and it provides security against attacking Goblins and the like. The social aspect is also a big plus, and its nice to work as a team, especially if you work together well. As a party you can take on much tougher missions and quests and get hints, tips and help from your fellow party members.
  4. The Ninty Rev is a very interesting curio for sure. I really don't know what to think about it... it's the lack of information that probably keeps my interest up.
  5. Someone once told me that these controller adapters suffer from a very slight lag. If that's true, then that would ruin gaming for just about anyone.
  6. A very good read - all opinions are subjective of course, but it was an entertaining read. For that I thank you.
  7. I've had 3 Xbox's and 2 are noisy (especially the crystal) but the 3rd is near silent, even the drives are silent and the eject seems silky smooth. The fan definately works but its very quiet. Nice. But all the Xbox's seem tame compared to the 360 when its on full song. Fortunately that shuts some fans down when using other media besides games.
  8. Installing it was a total nightmare (unless you have a keyboard) and it took me nearly 2 hours!!! But it was well worth the effort and it has already become one of my most played games. I am very pleased because this should last me to March when all the really great games start being released.
  9. I like interviews like this, he is asking some of the questions that people want answers for. I also think he got very good answers. Although some of it was just a thinly disguised attack at the Xbox 360, but that just backfires and makes the interviewer look stupid & desperate.
  10. I just can't believe anyone is saying there is not much to do in GTA Its one of the best sandpit games ever made. Possibly only bettered by MMORPGs.
  11. Best games on 360 imo: PGR3 Call of Duty DOA Kameo Condemned is a great experience, but the gameplay is shallow. Favourite Arcade game is Zuma. The real reason for console shortage is a worldwide launch rather than a staggered one. MS should be applauded for their efforts, but laughed at for not seeing the obvious.
  12. To save and quit... press X left on d-pad Log Out wait for crouch heal to go 30 secs and you are saved and quitteded so to speak.
  13. I've been doing it a few days already on 360. Currently a level 7 warrior.
  14. I spent a few good days on Azurik - didn't complete it but I got quite far and enjoyed it a lot. I also like another crappy game, Pirates The Legend of Black Kat. I actually did complete that one and enjoyed every damn minute.
  15. It's strange how some Xbox fans are very loud and some are near silent.
  16. I prefer knitting myself... it's very vogue.
  17. Play the game yourself on a hi-def TV and stop to look around - then I think you will have a very different opinion.
  18. How much is the Blue-ray DVD drive alone? If Sony want to be competitive they either need to take a huge hit on selling the consoles or drop the drive - none of which is likely so I think it will be a $500+++ console and when (not if) MS drop the 360 price as the PS3 launches then it is going to be hard to justify paying the extra $200+ price difference. PS3 will surely lose a lot of it's kiddie gamers due to this - which will be Nintendo and MS's gain. I don't doubt that PS3 will be the most powerful console but at what cost? Either way I will no doubt buy one because I always want the most powerful console.
  19. Yeah it is impressive but it's only a rushed launch game remember. Imagine how good it's going to be after a year or so when developers get a good understanding of the tech.
  20. If you ever wondered how realistic games will get on the next generation then check out Project Gotham Racing 3 on the Xbox 360.
  21. I dissagree and feel that ads are needed to keep game producers in business. We quickly complain when games are sub par or stop being made, but with the extra revenue we can avoid some of these issues. More time can be spent making the game to give us a better product. Too many big companies now and not enough small ones. If you make a movie - you also get to sell the DVD and all the merchandise that goes with it and sound tracks and any advertising you can shove in it. If you make a game you get to sell the game. It seems that ads are required in the future so best get used to it. In a game like Tony Hawk you skate around a city - which is not going to be very realistic without advertising now is it. I for one support ads in games if it is not interfering with play or slowing down my enjoyment of the game. So billboards in game are fine but having to watch an ad before I can play is not. edit:
  22. The VGA lead comes with the 15 pin connector that goes straight into the monitor, but it also comes with an adapetr in case your monitor is the type with a lead so it should work whatever. With regard to your switch... I dunno, never used one.
  23. I thought about it a little bit more and you should add 'GUN' to your list. I am not sure but I think Div3r is also free roaming. (In truth I've owned it for nearly a year and it's still sealed, never had time or felt the need to play it yet!) To a lesser extent there are a lot of racing type games which give you a whole city to mess with, but usually not much to do other than mess around. A good example would be Midnight Club.
  24. Closest to lumberjack game I can think of is a very cool classic from the early 80s called 'PEDRO' But its more of a gardenening game. There are a few driving games where you hit trees and they dissapear.... not really the same thing. Hmmm maybe we should move onto the next level and discuss a beaver game where you do lumberjacking and build dams... I think the Japanease have some beaver games... not sure how they play.
