I would say typically 3 gig - 5 gig...at least that what my Xbox says when I back-up. But HD graphics will make the files much bigger on the new generation of consoles.

Randomness, replayability, open-ended, sandbox?

Spiderman 2 + Mercenaries are 2 obvious choices. -
Atari on it's way out...again! (58% less value)
Clock replied to kevin242's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
I really liked Battle Engine Aquila, and the Unreal games are well liked by many. But when you actually look at the games there are a lot of poor quality titles in the Infogrames/Atari portfolio. -
In the Peter Moore interview I am certain he said it was for movies only... if that is so, then what's the big deal? Nobody will buy it and nobody will care. How many people complained about the 360 being expensive already on these boards alone? Imagine if they added a couple of hundred extra dollers just for the HD DVD drive. As an early adopter myself, I see no reason to worry.

I use a usb wi-fi dongle on this PC and it works very well indeed. It has no effect on my firewall. My usb dongle is some unknown make My wi-fi router is a Linksys And I use McAfee security suite I also have my Xbox 360 connected using a Linksys game adapter All works as it should no problems.

Of the 3 games I have I would rate them thus: Perfect Dark Zero 7/10 Kameo 9/10 Condemned 7/10 (For atmosphere it scores 10/10 - it really will mess with your head in 1 or 2 places)

Of all the games that are not on your list I would recommend the following... Jet Set Radio Future Top Spin Links 2004 Kung Fu Chaos (best offline multiplayer on Xbox) Beyond Good & Evil Jade Empire Steel Battalion Any of the Rainbow Six games Mojo (rare to find game but well worth it) Full Spectrum Warrior plus any of these which have already been mentioned Chronicles of Riddick Fable Burnout 3 Halo 2 Crimson Skies GTA San Andreas Doom 3 Psi Ops I have all of these games as part of my collection (300 ++) and they are all also highly recommended by the press. In other words, you can't go too far wrong.

His postage costs are very strange. Postage inside the EU is actually very little more than within the UK in all my experiences. If it's £6.50 to a UK address I would suspect less than £10 to Finland. It's not a heavy item by the look of it.

It will interesting to see how fast MS replace your console... here in the UK it takes 3 working days from the phone call. This is the first time I've come accross an actual major failure on 360.

Got to admit it though - it sure looks nice.

My old Xbox had a 07 HDD error as well. I just bought a new Xbox and just forgot about the old one for a few months. Then I thought I'd ebay it so I did... and for some wierd reason I decided to test it agin before I posted it, and it worked! It was alive! So my advice is to buyt a new Xbox. Ignore the faulty one. Attempt to sell it just to scare the thing. Then test it. worked for me.

You donuts! The HD cable caters for both HD and normal composite signals. It comes with 6 RCAs (phono plugs) 3 for HD, 2 for Stereo and 1 for composite video and it has a switch which switches between HDTV and normal TV. Congrats on your purchace - but it becomes a completely different console once you get your HDD and conect it to your broadband. That's the moment you start to understand what the next gen has to offer.

I was thinking about controllers and it struck me that something was odd. In the good ol' days of Atari joysticks most of us used our left hand for the fire button and moved the stick with our right hand. But these days with control pads we fire with the right hand and move with the left (or sometimes coupled with the right). It seems like we have all just accepted it without question. Why did it all change? and do you think it should have changed? would we all be better at games if we moved with the right and fired with the left as we once did? lots of Qs there I know, but I have never seen it discussed before.

PDZ is actually a good fun game on 360. It does look good (just look around when you play) and plays well (several ways to complete missions) but it isn't a killer app by any standards. The biggest thing that puts it down is the AI, you shoot a bad guy a few times and he stumbles in pain, but then 2 seconds later he is right as rain and running 'n' gunning as he was before you shot him. Dumb dumb dumb. I would give it 7.5 out of 10 - Kameo is a much better game (9 out of 10) and probably my favourite 360 game yet.

I love the 360 arcade - I mostly play the offline games like Zuma but I have had a couple of great online games of Gauntlet.

Any interest in an Xbox 360 b4 I return it?
Clock replied to RickHarrisMaine's topic in Auction Central
Why refund it when you can just start the auction at the retail price and then people can pay what their willing to. You can't lose from that. -
2 things need clearing up here... 1st - There were a heck of a lot of Japanease only titles on the original Xbox and I am sure the 360 wll be the same. Most of these games are probably just plain wierd and not suitable for a western palette. 2nd - Of the dozen or so 360 titles already released, I think 4 of them are already confirmed region free. There are many people here in the UK happily playing Ridge Racer imported from the USA/Canada because its not available here until the New Year. Just for your info, most Xbox Live titles are region free on the original Xbox and many non Live games also.

Some very good points, but the situation has changed in the last month with Microsoft releasing the Xbox 360. This is by far the best support of homebrews yet seen trough the use of the Xbox Arcade in the online marketplace. These simple games are selling very well and offer homebrew and indie developers a genuinely good way to make decent money for their stuff. It has a very high take up percentage as well.

What should Sony do? Well I actually like Sony and I like Sony products so I have very little beef with them. As far as the PSP goes, I only think it's a little overpriced, but it is a fantastic product. My only 2 compalints about Sony are: 1. They need to standardise with the rest on the industry - especially with their MP3 players 2. PS3 will not play second hand games. This means you won't be able to borrow games or trade in your games. I feel it is their biggest mistake ever.

I don't know if you can get them in America but here in the UK we have screens made by a company called Joytech. They have screens for PS2 and Xbox and I have heard good things about both these, although I have yet to experience them myself. The only portable screen I have used was the Sony PSone screen and that thing was brilliant.

I would strongly recommend Pikmin and Monkeyball games above everything else.

nintendo's response revo specs vs 360 & ps3
Clock replied to Shannon's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Well, Nintendo has has over 20 years to burn their characters into mainstream consciousness. It'll take that and more for Sony and Microsoft to do the same. They can't expect them to become memorable if they don't release games that feature them (Jax & MC,etc.) Shoot, is Crash Bandicoot a memorable character yet? 981250 Firstly MC will have his own hollywood movie.... Secondly the Lara Croft character became very famous and memorable after just 1 game. Strong characters get remembered, they don't need to be thrown at you constantly for 20 years. These are just 2 examples which prove that you don't need 20 games to get recognised. And really, who actually cares about a gaming character anyway? If anybody seriously did care then I would suggest they get some help. -
Nintendo's insertion of their characters

Sega do a similar tactic with Sonic... He appears in dozens of non Sonic games. So it is true that Nintendo are not the only ones. There is a website that lists them but for the life of me I can't remember it. -

...Personally reading Nintendo's take on it all, and seeing the interesting and fun way they are presenting their new system I think they have the kid at hearts who want to buy a toy... 980980 Nail on head. I think you are 100% right, if everyone thinks Nintendo is a kiddie system then they may as well make it a kiddie system. It could work for them, especially if it's cheap enough for parents to buy little jonny and janet a game every now and again. However I feel it will be the lost system again. Probably too expensive for kiddies and not impressive enough for teens and adults. All speculation at this stage, of course.
