  1. Well it made me laugh... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XBOX-INSTRUCTION-MAN...1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. I don't get mad at games, I'm just too chilled for that. If I feel frustrated by something such as learning to fly in San Andreas, I just swap the game disk and play something else.
  3. I still say $400 is a bargain. It is quite a bit more expensive here in the UK though.
  4. Fot those who are worried about the wireless controllers running out of batteries, I read somewhere that you can plug them into the usb ports and carry on playing. Problem solved.
  5. I think that those figures are based on average wage at the time and compared to average wage now. It's probably more accurate than you imagine. Look how much your house cost in 1977 and what the market value is now. Look how much a candy bar cost in 1977 and compare that to now. It has all gone up in cost by a few hundred percent so it does make sense.
  6. Either consoles have previously launched cheap in America or lots of people on AA are very tight. $399 is significantly cheaper than what the original Xbox lauched at in the UK. I really think that is a bargain. I think all the moaning is due to thae fact that there are lots of anti xbox folk here on AA. This is something I have never understood.
  7. I have all of the above, but haven't played LOC for ages. I keep thinking I must plug it in again, but then I think I have to re-learn everything as its a fairly heavy simand that takes ages, so I end up playing something else instead. I would do it, but I'd need lots of help as I'd be the same as a newbie.
  8. It should just pull away - it can be a little stiff though.
  9. I used one last year in September (it was a beta but the guy from Gizmondo thought it was 99% there) and it felt very very solid and good, but for me it was just not one thing or another, jack of all trades type machine. Not bad but never great. It's doomed.
  10. Tell me, what mind shattering level design themes can you come up with that have never been done before? jungle? done forest? done ruins? done tundra? done buildings? done castles? done underwater? done space? done space station? done urban? done beach? done factory? done volcano? done train/subway station? done graveyard? done desert? done feudal japan? done construction site? done I could go on, but I won't. There's only so much that you can do until you get into the realm of, "Oh shit, somebody's already done it. Oh well, ship it out anyway." 908420[/snapback] How about a FPS set on the moon complete with low grav
  11. Just chill bro - that threads like so old - it doesn't hurt to start a fresh one.
  12. I think #7 bosses should be removed from games altogether - its just such old fashioned crap, we really should have moved on from that by now. The whole crates and barrels crap is another issue that gets me, somebody please think up something else.
  13. Its a very VERY easy swap - PM Starscream like he said. Takes less than 2 minutes to swap.
  14. Hmmmm yes, but who in hell would want to fly around a whole world where there is nothing interesting to look at. I think good graphics help immerse you into the fantasy. The next gen should give us bigger playfields and better graphics. Now that is something good.
  15. Some VCDs where large as well like a laser disc.... Oh yeah don't forget laser discs, Mmmmmmmm big and shiny
  16. I totally agree with that statement. Never trust the press. If I was to review games I would always score it on fun. Afterall fun is the reason we play these things, else there would be no point. Some games are more than the sum of their parts, lets call it the Tetris value.
  17. In my local GAME store the shelves are split as such... PS2 - 5 racks + small gondala + used section Xbox - 4 racks + used section GameCube - 2 racks including used section. It is possible that the likes of MS and Sony are paying for shop space (I know this happens with cel phone service providers) but I think it's more likely due to sales. If you sell more PS2 games then your going to devote more space to the PS2. Simple economics.
  18. I really like the look of WW - but then I really like cel shaded games. I am also a fan of adventure games, but I have never actually got to playing WW myself. I bet I would love it though.
  19. I have to say I really like the look of that stumpy joystick. Much better than a normal d-pad.
  20. I thought it would be nearer half those figures.... but I was only guessing.
  21. Lego Star Wars is actually fun to play, unlike most Star Wars games. The reason for all the sports and movie tie-ins is simple. It's guaranteed to sell because that's what casual gamers want to buy. Casual gamers probably make up 75% of game sales. People like us who are clued up gamers, do a little research before we buy our games. Casual gamers buy something that looks good on the cover. And I like some sports games and there have been a few (very few) good games based on movies. Spiderman 2 and Chronicals of Riddick are good examples. Anyway I'm off to play some Links golf on my Xbox...
  22. Has it been confirmed that it is Xbox only and not 360 as well? It is possible they are making two versions. Remember Rare tansfered Kameo onto 360 including a complete spruce up in just a few weeks thanks to XNA. So it wouldn't be that big a deal to do the same with HL2.
  23. Much like everyone else, I find the rarity guide on AA facinating. Perhaps I just enjoy statistics even on a basic level. However, it struck me that I have no reference to what it means. So I was wondering, if an Atari cart was released with only 1000 carts produced, where on the scale would it be? I would really like to hear the answers from both collectors and AA admin alike on this question. I also am aware that there is more than just production figures involved, but this still remains the main factor.
  24. The only console I actively collect for is Xbox. Currently at 274 games and counting. Only last week for the first time ever I catalogued them so I could actually see how many I have and exactly what I have. The down side of a large collection for a modern console is that I have 3 family members who use me as a free rental service.
  25. Things tend to be a lot more expensive in the UK anyway, so if we buy it cheap in the USA and then pay more on postage we still tend to be quids in. I really don't see it as a major problem unless its a heavy item. You have nothing to lose by offereing it so long as you make the postal charges clear I see no problems.
