  1. Sega Genesis 1. Outrun 2. Mortal Kombat Hard Drivin would be almost tied with MK, however if I was only able to have 2 games MK has much more replay value then Hard Drivin
  2. I would pay $12.00 for Outrun all day long Not because its rare, I have no idea if its rre or super common Because I love Outrun and used to play it all the time in the arcade, so when I finally got a Genny and was able to play Outrun at home I was in heaven There are games that I loved so much back in the 80s that I would pay for even if I thought it was too expensive I would have done the exact same thing you did AtariLeaf, good call on getting it down to $12.00
  3. Another awesome buy! I am very torn with the O2, its a system that I see no reason to not collect for but I have so many other systems in line ahead of it I just hope that in 5 years systems like the O2 dont skyrocket in price when if I would have bought one now I could getit for a decent cost Thats what scares me about all of the systems I want, so I am thankful that I already own the main systems that when I started to collect I bought Right now the Emerson Arcadia has been on my mind and for some reason I want that system next
  4. I have been playing Donkey Kong Arcade on my Intellivision for a couple hours last night and about an hour today. This game is amazing, it is so close to the arcade not just with all the stages and intermissions but with the difficulty level spot on to the arcade. Best $35.00 I ever spent on a game.

  5. there is another one up now.. shitty way to sell them all.... at super high prices. only the rich can afford to buy games this way. i want one but cant afford ebay prices. this isn't the producer of DK Arcade that's selling his run of games on eBay, this is a reseller who bought them at $50 and is now selling them a couple of months later. try to contact the maker, he may have some spare carts still available at a cheaper rate. http://www.intellivision.us Im not sure, but I think he sold the last of what he had (with no box) to me and a couple other Atari Age members
  6. Best game ever for the Intellivision! I got it in the mail yesterday and played for a couple hours until I got to 100,000 points (with Toni) The game is just like the arcade in terms of difficulty Its a great tribute to what could have been produced back in the day The gameplay is smooth and the INTV controller works great on the game I was thinking about making a quick gameplay vid of getting to the Pie Factory really fast just running through the levels as fast as I can (no point pressing)
  7. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 130605978931 Everyone better back off! Im buying these!
  8. When you use 10 or more exclamation points in a post and spell the word you with a single word, the copy and paste function is automatically disabled
  9. I would say that it was worth the trouble for sure!
  10. I use a simple rule when I collect If I didnt play it as a kid (for me thats 1979-1996) then I will not buy the system or collect the games So systems I never owned or played like the 3DO, Turbo Grafix 16, Jaguar and the like, I just dont bother with Now thats not to say in the future that I will not buy a console I never played, I never played or owned an Intellivision, but I knew about it back in the day, and im so glad that I bought one because I fell in love with it Thats the reason I want an Emerson Arcadia and a Bally Astrocade But those are the exceptions to the rule For now I have to stay focused on what I already own because I have a wife and 3 children, so I cant just spend whatever I want Im very satisfied with what I own so far, no doubt there is a ton of stuff I want, but I dont think I will ever get to the point of feeling overwhelmed
  11. Moon Patrol used to drive me insane The crazy thing is that I loved the game, maybe thats why I got so pissed off at it
  12. When Boxpressed told me about this method it helped alot of my carts work for sure I have no idea why that is but like my NES alot of times it works best when I dont insert the cart all the way and it makes it hard to push the game down into the NES I always figured that the pins made a better/cleaner connection then being inserted all the way
  13. I never knew the INTV Lives website was down It has been in my favorites for a long time and has worked for me
  14. Yes I have seen that video before, but its always nice to watch it again I would have loved to work there
  15. You already mentioned cleaning the carts before use Just make sure you clean them on a regular basis as well, along with the cart slot on the VCS Collecting tips would be to buy games in lots off Ebay and Atari Age (always check the marketplace) that is a great way to get a lot of games for cheap, even if the lot has some games that you already own but is a great price and has lots of games that you dont own you should buy it The cool thing about Atari is that the best games for the syatem are pretty common and easy to find I always go with the Activision games (Pitfall, Kaboom, Freeway, Dragsater, Enduro, Stampede) because there are not many Activision titles that are bad, if you buy an Activision game chances are you will like it Imagic is another company that made some great games (Atlantis, Demon Attack) And dont forget about the Intellivision and ColecoVision if you own an Atari sometime in the future you need to check out these two amazing consoles
  16. Loved your story, there is nothing like getting back into the good old days of retro gaming I love my Intellivision Right now I am very excited as I will be getting Donkey Kong Arcade soon and plan on playing that until my controller blows up
  17. That paypal hold on the seller is bullshit! I got a letter saying that because I havent sold enough items over $100 in the last 6 months they are now putting a hold on all payments made to me until I get positive feedback or 21 days I was so pissed I called paypal and said look at my feedback! I have 100% feedback and have sold items for $2,000+ ( I sold my Mickey Mantle collection, every Topps regular issue Mantle card from 1956-1969) and sold most all of my old sets and cards for $100s of dollars http://feedback.ebay...tab=AllFeedback They didnt care, they said we look at a number of factors and the fact that you have not been selling is a red flag I told them that I havent needed to sell anything over the last 6 months and that it was not fair for a seller to take the hit just because they have not been selling as of late and has never ever had a problem with paypal I told them I would never sell on Ebay again unless they changed the policy, the supervisor said thats fine with us, we need to protect our buisness as well They were treating me like I was trying to scam them! I only use paypal to pay until like I said they change their policy
  18. So your showing off that you just spent $650.00 with this seller and now all of the sudden you retract a bid of$21.00 because its too high? Whats a matter Mr Money bags? How can the pocket change of $21.00 matter to you when your dropping $650.00 like its nothing with this seller? That in it self is ludicrous Ebay logic I smell something very fishy, I can spot a crooked Ebayer from miles away
  19. I loved DK3 but many of my friends said they didn't care for it because it didn't "feel" like a Donkey Kong game without Mario. I don't know... I thought it was a blast to play. Mendon I can understand why people would say that because DK3 is more of a shooter then a platformer However to me as a kid it still had the overall Donkey Kong feel, the graphics and the look of the stages made it look and feel like a Donkey Kong game to me I loved how you could drop down on to the platform below you just like in Contra, and the NES Max was the perfect controller for DK3 as holding down the turbo button to use your bug spray was a must after long game sessions I love DK3 and back in the late 80s it was one of my favorite games My friends all had their favorite game series, Super Mario Bros, Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania, etc But my favorite game series was always Donkey Kong Its hard sometimes because everyone always says oh did you get into Donkey Kong because you saw The King of Kong? And everytime I have to say I was breaking 100k on all 3 Donkey Kongs almost 20 years before the movie came out (I say almost 20 years because the movie came out in 2007 and while I had an NES and all the Donkey Kong games in 1987 I wasnt great at them until around 1990/91, thats when I broke 100k at the Donkey Kong arcade at my local 7-11 after being taught about the 3rd elevator stage by an older brother of my friend John Buckley who dominated DK and DK Jr in Redding. How he knew what spring to go on on the 3rd elevator stage back in the late 80s early 90s I have no idea, but he knew, he did a counting trick and taught me to look at the bottom screen to see where the spring went, way more compicated then what I know today but back then it worked) by the time I was at 100k on the arcade DK I was scoring 250k on the DK on NES, 200k on DK Jr on the NES and in the 300k range on DK3 I am trying to get back to that level and go beyond it now, I plan on buying a DK arcade cab with our next tax return (my wife and I own our own buisness and write everything off so we get a very nice return every year and the wife lets me spend between $1 and $2k) I want a DK arcade with a DK Jr boardthat I can switch out For now I have all 3 on NES and also have MAME toplay, right now I am mastering all 3 on the NES Its fun getting back into my favorite series I cant wait to add the new INTV version to my collection and play th hell out of it
  20. This is on default difficulty and tourny settings (5 men no extra men at any point total, just 5 and done) My first tip is you need to have been playing since the 80s to get the whole real feel of the game Always keep moving and get to the point where you are being chased and firing behind you Always get to the outside! Get out of the middle right away In the late waves right when the wave starts look for the easiest line to get to the outside and blast through I move around th outside in counter clockwise cirlcles, I find that for being right handed this is the most comfortable on the arcade Use the trick with keeping Mikey alive because the grunts will try to kill Mikey first, so if you can keep him alive all the other family members will be on the screen, on wave 7 (I think I need to look) this works great, you will need to keep Mikey alive and kill all of the grunts except for one so tht way you can grab all of the family members in a row and rack up some huge 5000 point bonuses Dont panic I know thats easier said then done but dont give up when it looks like you are about to be cornered and killed, you will be suprised at how you can fight your way through or escape through a tight path of grunts This is how I play the game and have been playing the game for years, I always play with the TG Tourny settings as that is to me the best way to judge a players skill on Robotron If anybody on AA can score higher then my 469k on tourny settings my hats off to them
  21. SNES Favorite: F-Zero and Sim City are tied for #1 Least Favorite: Stunt Race My brother got Stunt Race for his Birthday around 1995 or so (cant remember for sure but I know I was in high school) and by this time I was dating my current wife (yes we have been together for 17 years) and playing high school sports and drinking every night. So when I came home on a school night I would always sit down and play some SNES with my brothers. Well I remember this game and remember back then hating it with a passion, I also remember my youngest brother always playing it for some crazy reason Genisis Favorite: Mortal Kombat and Hard Drivin (I know people hate this game but I loved it! The replay of your car crashing was so awesome, please tell me im not the only person who would try to crash on purpose all crazy to see who could get the most awesome replay?) Least Favorite: Toe Jam and Earl Planet Funkotron (I have heard this game is loved by many, however I hated this ridiculous game, I tried to get into it but never could)
  22. I didnt get the one on Ebay, but I got the email that I have been waiting for today and bought the Game, overlay and manual for $35.00 I dont get a box, but with the discounted price I had to jump on it, with in 30 seconds of getting the email I had paid for the game I did the same! YEEE-HAWWWW!!! Congrats, you guys are both gonna like it, but it's hard as hell! Damn you Carl! Thats the best part! I love the arcade version because of how hard it is, it keeps me coming back I broke 100k on the DK arcade back in 1991 or 92 at the 7-11 Lake Blvd in Redding That 7-11 had Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr in the store from like 1984-1994 before thy were replaced with Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat I have always been obsessed with DK, long before King of Kong came out I was playing DK, DK Jr and DK3 on the NES everyday in the late 80s trying to up my high score
  23.
