  1. And I'm sure everyone that feels like this makes sure that when they walk into a Salvation Army store, Goodwill store, yard sale, and/or flea market and spots a Glib or Chase the Chuckwagon priced at $2 that they inform the sellers of their mistake and bring out their checkbook and write out a check for the fair amount. Wouldn't want to take advantage of people. Riiiiiiiiiight. Mendon
  2. Another case of people complaining for no apparent good reason.. I don't see any posts here stating they know HOW the item will be shipped. For all anyone knows, this might be a perfectly packed and shipped cartridge, not put in a Little Debbie box, shipped media, and a price of $5.50 exacted. Based in the U.S., priority mail is $3.85. Delivery confirmation is $.45. Total $4.30. Wear & tear and gas on your vehicle, your time standing in line at the post office, packing materials....... this is all worth something and jumping the shipping price from $4.30 to $5.50 is NOT outrageous. People constantly complaining about this and "reporting them to Safeharbor" remind me of the religious right turning in radio/TV stations to the FCC because of content. There are two knobs on a radio/TV.. one turns it on & off and the other changes the channel. Same thing with high priced eBay auctions.... ya don't want to pay the price, don't bid. Makes me wonder if people turn in 7-11 to the FTC because a bottle of aspirin costs $3 more than it does at the pharmacy. Mendon
  3. Just thought I'd make a quick post: I recently won two eBay auctions from Bre for Atari 8bit games. They sent me VERY timely Emails regarding payment instructions and status of shipment. They also shipped VERY quickly as I had the games 3 days after paying for them. They were excellently packaged and boxed. I highly recomend them if anyone is looking at dealing with them One thing that I thought was interesting is the brochure they included with my shipment. They have a Buy-Back program and will buy video games, systems, DVD's, and VHS tapes. As an example of their Buy-Back prices, here is their Atari prices: Jaguar: We buy games with box and instructions for $0.50 each. We buy Jaguar systems for $5.00 each. We do not buy Jaguar CD games or Jaguar CD systems. Atari 2600,5200,7800,Lynx: We buy Atari 7800 games with or without box and instructions for $0.50 each. We buy Atari 7800 systems with 1 control pad, AC Adapter, & RF cable for $5.00 We buy Atari 5200 games with or without box and instructions for $0.35 each. We buy Atari 5200 systems with 1 control pad, AC Adapter, & RF Cable for $4.00 each. We buy Atari 2600 games with or without box and instructions for $0.15 each. We buy Atari 2600 systems with 1 control pad, AC adapter, & RF cable for $2.00 each. We buy Atari Lynx games with or without box and instructions for $0.25 each. We buy Atari Lynx systems for $5.00 each. Now, you know if you can't sell something on eBay that you can get rich, Rich, RICH by selling to Bre Software!! Mendon
  4. Millenium 2.2 Deuteros Anything by Sinister Developments (especially Painter!!) Pac-Man STe Anything by Munsie (especially Berzerk & Frantic) Dungeon Master & Chaos Bards Tale Alternate Reality - The City STario World Many others but these are my favorites. Mendon
  5. I couldn't wait to hook up my STe and try out Xenon II.. man, I cranked up the volume and rocked for a couple hours with that game. Awesome soundtrack, awesome game, fantastic sound on the STe. But methinks sound has a lot to do with the programers. For example, one of my favorite games on the ST is Millenium 2.2 and its sequel, Deuteros. On the Amiga, Deuteros sounds great and somewhat realistic but the ST version has pitiful, pitiful sound that is more irratating than anything else. I'm sort of biased and greatly prefer the ST series. I've tried the Amiga (but not alot other than some game playing) but found its use much more user-unfriendly than the ST. The ST seemed geared for easy use; put a blank disk in the drive and BANG, yer at the desktop with its commands all ready to be used. The Amiga seemed to be more confused about whether it was trying to be a DOS machine (with command line entries) or a Mac machine (by using a mouse and icons). Of course, I found the Atari 8bits much more user friendly than the C=64.. so I guess my bias is showing. Just my opinion. Mendon
  6. Maybe this is a dumb question, but a couple posts here say the SMS import carts work fine in a U.S. system. Does that mean you don't have the PAL prob's with a SMS that you do with a 2600 or 7800, you know rolling screen, etc? Mendon
  7. Thanks for the VERY informative post, Steve; very much appreciated. The system I bought has everything needed for the 3D glasses to work; just a broken earpiece. Think I'll try it out first before investing in a non-broken set just to see if its worth the $$$ So.... what games do you recomend? I know I want Phantasy Star, Ghost & Goblins (or Ghouls & Ghosts... whichever the SMS had), Rampage (which I heard is GREAT), and maybe an Alex game or two. Any others I should look for? Mendon
  8. Thanks very much for the response Tempest; much appreciated. Like I said, I've never owned or played a SMS before so I'm really looking forward to checking it out. Not sure how much I'll get into it but want to play it some as I've heard a lot of good comments about the system. Being a Phantasy Star fan, I'm going to make that one of the 1st games I pursue. The system I bought comes with 3 3D games & the glasses, but of course one of the ear pieces is broke. Seller is including the broken piece with it and says maybe I can repair it... never seeing one before I have no idea if they are fixable or how fragile they are. But there are a couple boxed 3D glasses for sale on eBay right now and if they are worth the time and money, I might invest in a non-broken set to see how good it is. Only other 3D game I've tried is the Vectrex; Coaster was excellent. Thanks again for the info. Mendon
  9. I've never owned a Sega Master System but will have one in a few days. I was just wondering how good the 3D glasses & games were for it? Is it something worth investing in or was it more of a novelty that didn't really work that well? The glasses I see pretty frequently on eBay and they don't seem to be priced too high, but seem to have a breakage rate higher than 5200 joystick buttons as the vast majority of them seem to have broken ear pieces. Thanks in advance for any comments! Mendon
  10. Sniff... Sniff... I can't see it; I click the link and it says Invalid item. Mendon
  11. All of this begs the questions to be asked.... [*]Why do public toilets have the little piece missing from the front of the seat but your home toilet seat is a complete circle/oval????? [*]Why is it that no matter what color the bar of soap is (blue, yellow, etc) that the lather is always white??????? [*] Why do you always see the "First Church of Christ" or the "First Baptist Church" but you never see the Second, Third, or Fourth????????? Inquiring minds wanna know!! Mendon
  12. I just received a Jag Pro Controller; I know that Iron Soldier and some of the fighting games make use of it. Was just wondering if anyone has a list of Jag games that take advantage of the Pro Controller? Thanks in advance! Mendon
  13. As I said in an earlier post, I'd be happy to buy a cart/CD with Jagmania, Painter, Ball Game, etc on it. At the moment, I only have my Jag and Jag CD. I'm purchasing Protector SE soon so will be able to play these games, and will perhaps look into getting a cable also for transferring games from my PC to Jag. But for pure convinence I'd purchase a cart or CD with these games on them. Mendon
  14. I've seen Gameboy plastic cases for sale at Electronic's Boutique as recent as a month ago. They had both clear and colored one, I believe 6 or 8 came in a box and they were around $4.99. Next time I'm in there (which isn't too frequently) I'll take a look just in case someone asks this question again. Mendon
  15. As an aside, I was really looking forward to seeing Anger Management; thought the previews were really funny. Seen it last night and I give it Four Thumbs Down... really crappy movie in my opinion. Mendon
  16. ACK!! Sorry, wrong link.... here's the correct one H.E.R.O. Cart Sorry about that. I had the other auction linked because I was going to ask a question about 'Mar's Patrol". Never saw it before and was wondering if it was Moon Patrol with a different label or something. Good luck with Hero. Mendon
  17. Just saw this on eBay: HERO Cart Good luck! Mendon
  18. Wizard of Wor???? Ack!! You can't play that game single player!! Ack!! Playing WoW single player is like eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich without the bread: its a MESS! Wizard of Wor can only be played 2 player or it ain't Wizard of Wor! Mendon
  19. I'll just throw my quick 2cents in here.... I've been around Atari for many, many, many years; I've owned/own an Atari 800, 800XL, 130XE, XEGS, Lynx, 7800, 5200, 2600, ST, Falcon, TT... I was involved in user groups for almost 20yrs. And in all these years the questions of "What's piracy?" and "Whats an illegal copy of software?" has ALWAYS been debated and always will. Everyone has their opinions on it and few have rarely (if ever) changed them in regards to whether its right or wrong. I really don't feel like getting involved in this ongoing debate anymore in any kind of depth. In the words of a famous man, "Been there, Done that. I'm sorry about what happened to CPUWhiz... I feel its wrong and shouldn't have happened. I'm sorry that the AA forums have to be cluttered up with the kind of stuff that is being written here. I'm an old fart.. been around a few years. Since my hippie days I've always lived by the motto "Do whatever you want, be whatever you want... just as long as you don't hurt anyone". CPUWhiz... no matter what is said in this forum, in the end you didn't hurt ANYONE; in fact, you brought some joy and fun in this crazy, crazy world. And I Thank You for it. Mendon
  20. Just in case you or anyone else was interested, I imported a DC system long before the U.S. versions were available. I purchased several import games and after I got a few of them for the U.S. system I bought, I decided to try and sell a couple of my import DC games; the one in question that eBay nailed me on was Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Like I said, eBay claimed that Sega said it was "illegal" to auction import DC games. I don't know why it was illegal, I didn't know at the time I listed the game on eBay that it was illegal, and I still don't know what caused the flak I got. I had a legal import system and a legal import game so I don't know how it could be illegal to sell. Mendon
  21. Please add me to the U.S. Mail list, please. Mendon
  22. What is the status/condition of Eye of the Beholder? I've heard that its floating around but never heard how much of it was complete or even if it was playable or not. Mendon
  23. Does Direct TV carry G4TV? I have the Dish Network and its not on there, and its not on our local Time Warner Cable either. Hmmm... if Direct TV does have G4 maybe its time I look at changing companies, especially since they always give away the equipment and installation for free. Mendon
  24. I think what happened to CPU is wrong, wrong, wrong. I've never bought from him but seeing his feedback on eBay and his conduct here in the forums on AA I'm sure he's an upright and honest guy. But I'm sure his account on eBay was closed because they were afraid of something pirated or copied being auctioned and jumped before anyone or anything said a word containing the vowels L A W S U I T. Someone rips you off on eBay and eBay doesn't care; they won't lose anything and its too small to be bothered with. But let some corporation mention any combination of the words "lawsuit", "infringement", or "copyright" and the images of being tied up in a courtroom for years and spending big $$$$$ just to defend or settle a case sends them running to their "Account Closed" computers faster than Evil Otto after a human. They suspended me for 30days and threatened to close my account just for putting up a Japanese Dreamcast game in an auction; and I didn't have any idea is was "illegal" to do so and this was also the FIRST (and only) run-in I'd ever had with them. They ripped down my auction and sent me an Email saying something about Sega claiming it was illegal to sell imported Dreamcast games and if I ever was caught doing it again, I would be denied access permanently. Sorry it happened to you CPU.... Mendon
