My favorite two play Atari 2600 game is Realsports Volleyball. (And I don't like sports) But I think this has the most fun two player gameplay for the system. Also great: Frogs & Flies, Warlords, Maze Craze

I guess I should specify, a list of unique NTSC North American Atari 2600 games.
-
I would also like to know how many unique titles there are. Wonder if someone has a list?
-
I just want to own every unique game. I'm probably going to take "Night Stalker" off my list, since it's nearly identical to Dark Cavern. It's really just a rerelease.
-
The only problem with that, some are saying there are differences in the gameplay.
-
I collect loose carts. Mainly NTSC unique titles, but do have interest in games beyond that. Just don't consider them part of the "complete" list. I pretty much go by this list (at least the NTSC stuff) with some exceptions. http://atariage.com/forums/blog/279/entry-5704-how-many-atari-2600-games-are-there-answer-470/ Here are the Atari 2600 games I still need to complete my collection. If you are selling any of these, contact me! Air Raid Atlantis II Birthday Mania (does this even exist?!) BMX Airmaster (atari) Eli's Ladder Fatal Run Frogger Starpath Gamma-Attack Gauntlet Lochjaw Magicard (not even a game really) Malagai Mangia Night Stalker Telegames (similar to dark caverns) Obelix Pepsi Invaders Red Sea Crossing River Patrol Seamonster (Puzzy) Space Tunnel (Puzzy) Spider Maze Spitfire Attack Stuntman Survival Island Starpath Sword of Saros Starpath Swordquest: Waterworld Tooth Protectors Video Life (not even a game really) Wall Defender

Is night stalker for the 2600 PAL only? If anyone has a copy of this game, I'd be interested.
-
I already have Dark Cavern. I see that it's the same game. So here's my question. If one was trying to get a complete Atari 2600 collection, would Night Stalker count since it's the same game? You wouldn't count the same game twice just because it has a different title right?
-
I have been having trouble tracking down a copy of Night Stalker on the 2600 Atariage lists the rarity at a 5, yet I never see any copies floating around. What am I missing here?

Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.

Please do. Even if you can't this weekend, please do it eventually! The truth needs to be revealed! -

The Dolphins will not mind if they also uncover some of these https://atariage.com/cart_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=147 All joking aside, there were concerns about toxins at the Alamagordo dump and they dug that up. The Sunnyvale one could be dug up. You just gotta pay the right people. -

I'm certainly not saying to go poking around in every dump in the country looking for ET carts. This is the one (and only) other dump site that needs to be searched. It's right down the road from Atari's old headquarters. It makes sense the million carts would be there since they were not in Alamagordo. Also, I'm not trying to act like they didn't find ET carts in Alamagordo. They did. But we only saw photos of maybe a few hundred at most. I understand they didn't dig up the rest of the stuff, which is supposed to have equaled up to 728,000 games. But again, that is made up of OTHER games. If they dug it all up, sure they would find more ET carts, but probably only a few thousand at most. We are looking for A MILLION here folks. And there is still the possibility (as slim as it may be) that they are in Sunnyvale. -

That's exactly what we need. If we have some more info and public records of the area, then maybe we can piece this together. Also, someone really needs to talk with Curt Vendel and Marty Goldberg. We need to get them to give us more information about what they know of the Sunnyvale ET burial site -

You're in Sunnyvale right? I guess try and take a trip to the library when you have a chance and see what you can find about the dump and that area back then. Any old records would help. -

That would be great. We need a lot more information about this dump. Especially concerning what it was like in the early 80s. That would help us pinpoint the location. -

I wish there was a wayback archive of google maps in 1983… But at least we know the basic location now. What we need is a photo or map of what the area (dump) looked like back then. Judging by the photos of the buried carts in alamagordo, it seems like the games would still be somewhat intact. Perhaps metal detectors, or some other type of ground penetrating radar could be used to find the 1 million ET carts buried at the Sunnyvale dump. -

Well, they clear out sections of cities to film big feature films. They could block off the park. Do the dig. Replace the grass, and then it could return to normal. -

See that! People were saying that it would be impossible to dig there, but your comment here is a sign of hope. ALSO, before they dug up the Alamagordo landfill, everyone said it was impossible to dig there too. That is until some people got together and made it happen. It's not impossible. Sunnyvale needs to be unearthed. -

hahaha. The difference is, we can't just go to Sunnyvale and dig up god with a couple bulldozers. I don't see why this documentary team can't just go over there and dig it up and end the discussion once and for all. I guess they want their documentary to be incomplete. -

Elvis8Atari replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
You're right. The Alamagordo landfill may very well be the site. And maybe they did get the number wrong. I'm not arguing that. But the fact remains, all we saw was a handful of ET carts. While yes, that may very well have been it, we can't be sure. They did not uncover everything, so we just don't know. Combined with this is the fact that most of that stuff isn't even ET cartridges. The 728,000 games contains a lot of other stuff. All I'm saying is, we can't be 100% certain. There was a book written by two well informed authors. "Atari Inc. Business is Fun" Where they talk about the Sunnyvale dump. Nobody has dug that site up yet. So who's to say the million ET carts didn't end up there? And that the stuff in Alamagordo isn't just some junk from a plant in El Paso? I'm not saying you are wrong. You very well might be right. But why are you so dead set against others giving the other alternative a shot? What's there to lose? What if they actually turned up in Sunnyvale? Cant we give it a shot? -

Elvis8Atari replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
Hardly. Now that the nonsense about Alamogordo is solved, the real hunt in Sunnyvale can begin, and maybe we'll actually get to see the million ET carts. -

Not sure where Sunnyvale dump was located back in 1983. The Sunnyvale dump may have changed locations over the years. But that's likely where the 1 million ET carts are, since they weren't in Alamagordo. -

Elvis8Atari replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
"They found the important one" I would say the important one was the one where the million ET carts were dumped. And since they weren't in Alamagordo, as was proven by this dig, logic would suggest they are in Sunnyvale. Also, I'm not alone in believing this. There are others in this thread that believe the same. -

THANK YOU! That is my entire point. The mystery isn't over until the Sunnyvale dump is uncovered. -

Elvis8Atari replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
That's all fine. And I believe everything you wrote. However, the myth that we were always lead to believe was that there was one million ET cartridges. That information may be wrong, or made up, but that WAS the myth. And they did not show us a million cartridges. Also, by looking at the images, you can see that there is a lot more than just ET carts in that pile of 728,000 carts. So even if they DID dig up the rest of the stuff under the concrete, it seems like there would still be nowhere near one million ET cartridges. Since so many other games makes up that 728,000 amount. Also, can any of us REALLY be sure that Atari didn't also dump a bunch of ET carts at the Sunnyvale dump? Why didn't this documentary crew dig up BOTH landfills? It only leaves room for speculation that the carts could still be under there..
