I apologize for resurrecting an ancient thread, but didn't see this elsewhere.

The MilkMan hasn't been active since last August.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a PDF overlay for a 6-switch, please? ?

I'm around...occasionally. Just shoot a PM with email you want PDFs to go to, I usually can send in a day or two. Some lager files will be sent using "HighTail" (large file transfer service) with a download link to get PDFs.

  2. Hey, I'm looking for PDF overlays for the 6 switch Atari 2600. I did PM The MilkMan but haven't had a response. Does anyone else maybe have them available?

    Thanks!

Got your PM. And I found 6 switch overlay artwork. On these PDF files...give me a minute...I'm not in front of this computer 24/7. Sorry if I don't respond right away.

  3. To all those wanting PDF overlays, please shoot me a PM request, and which version you want. As I will need an email address to send the files.

Note: I'm having trouble locating my old 6 switch artwork file. I may have make another one soon If I can't locate the original. I will edit this post when the 6 switch overlay is found/ready.

  4. Loved Space Shuttle! I would open 2 folding chairs and place one front of me, one behind. I'd place my 13" TV on the fold out chair in front of me, and the 2600 was on the floor. Then drape a blanket over the two chairs...that provided the fuselage (tent) of the shuttle. I'd sit between the chairs on the floor and use a pair of headphones (hooked up to nothing of course) as a headset to communicate with CAPCOM. Haha...man...good times!

  5. VADER Space Shuttle overlay

    Space Shuttle overlay

    Space Shuttle overlay detail

I made homebrew versions of the overlays some time back...I think I made both 4 and 6 switch...and I think even a Atari Jr version. If I find 'em, shoot me a PM and see about getting a PDF to you. Love this game. One of my all time favs..

  6. My wait was for the games.

I'm more of a "racing games" player, especially bikes. When I heard (last Sept or Oct '15) that a Valentino Rossi game was being developed, I knew I would be buying a next gen console.

Valentino Rossi The Game came out in August '16, and thats when I bought my PS4.

I went with PS4, just because I guess. I have a 360, but have owned all previous PS iterations.

    PS4 games I have...

Valentino Rossi The Game : MotoGP16 - Big fan of the Rider, so I love it all the same. Ya, It's more bike racing.

Ride - Kinda like GT or a Forza game. Lots of great bikes to ride/buy/upgrade. I like the game play of this one too.

Trials Fusion - This one is fun! Side scroller kinda of action with jumps, loops, explosions...fun bike tilting physics title.

MX vs ATV Supercross Encore - More MX vs ATV action. A good series, looks good too!

MXGP2 - Real tracks, real riders. Cool motocross racer. Kinda hard.

MadMax - I don't know about others and other views, but I'm loving this game. I love the simple yet satisfying controller fight mechanics. Love the combos and giving bad guys a good beat down.

Transformers - Pretty cool. Have got too far into this one yet. Looks cool though!

Blood Bowl 2 - I have the board game. I had no idea this was even out. Im not a football fan, but dam...I love the shxt out of this game!

GTA5 - Own this... regardless if you already have it on PS3. I did.

Marvel Pinball - I just got this one so not much to say other than, if you like pinball and marvel comics....

Now I'm just waiting for Ride 2, and MotoRacer 4. I think they are already released in Europe. We always get the Bike Racing titles last. Rossi was available almost 2 months later in US after being released in Europe.

Good idea on the controller charger. My controller stays plugged in too.

I hate how they have the "Options" button placed. Its the small oval button to the right of the big touch pad. I can never press it correctly without having to actually look for it, carefully place my finger on it, then press it. Otherwise I mash the touch pad. Very annoying.

  7. The link you shared doesn't work anymore. If you got rid of you website could you please some how make it possible to print that layout again. I just got Space Shuttle for my Atari 2600 Jr. and I would love to have the layout for it. Thanks.

I should have the PDF, gotta dig 'em up. Shoot me a PM and with an email address and I will send it along.

Hey Milkman, do you still have that Star Raiders insert available? I picked up a controller in a lot, but not insert with it..... was the original insert a paper, cardboard, etc???

Spawnshop....yah I should have the pdfs somewhere. Have not dug them up in awhile. I made original repros, and some custom variants too. I just printed them on a heavy cardstock (like a 60 or 80 lb. gloss paper) and cut em out. Worked pretty good. I will have to post some images of the variants. Thanks for asking about them :)

  9. I've been watching Netflix on my PS3. After I click the Netflix icon, It asks to sign in (PSN), says it cant, then the netflix screen pops up...

You'll get the loading gray squares under the Netflix logo, than it will say cant connect, try again later. Keep trying. After about 2 or 3 tries the menu pops up.

Takes alot longer to load the movie titles, but it works.

Not sure if others have said this already as I have not read thru all of the pages here...

  10. I hit level 30 and unlocked the Vettle challenge in the special races.

    hahaaa, yeah.

I tried the Monza track first. I did it in 2:14:something and got bronze. The next time qualification for a silver is 2:05:something...

It took me like 30 minutes (mulitple tries) to just complete the 2 laps and get a legit time. All my previous attempts I could not

    complete a single lap.

I cannot see how in the hell I'm going

to get a 2:05, let alone 2:04 time for a gold in that challenge. Flippin Hard!!

    @Reaperman...

Yea, me and my buddies will do that. One of us will open a lounge, we hop in, and the host determines HP for the race. Then we all find something exact or comparable.

Or favorite are those 60's C800 race Hondas (yellow with the red stripe). We take those out on the Nurbergring!

    Ya, the cuppacinos too!

  11. Yeah, for the arcade kind of games, like the Burnout series..Need for Speed etc, your not gonna benefit from the wheel. But these racing sim games,

I really feel some type game design was developed toward using the wheel. I'm not saying either the regular controller is not going to

work well with GT5. But for me, the slight, and subtle inputs I use with the wheel, and the feedback (read-the feel of what the car is doing or reacting to your inputs

thru the wheel) make using it far easier, real, and better.

With the stick I can hold a line thru a corner pretty good. But passing or heavy braking with traffic in a corner, I tend to flip the stick all over the place. I also seem

to smack into cars more often as a result.

Haha, yeah Im not fooled that Im on my couch playing a game, but why not get the most out of it. My TV is 57 inch, and when I play, I do sit a little closer...kind of fills

up the peripheral vision! Maybe that element helps pull me into that "zone" and I can forget about the room, couch, and TV, and lets me be sucked into feeling like its real.

I dont know, weird. Its a sim racing game, so I guess I just treat as such...try to get the most realism out of it.

Maybe its just the real track experience I've done, and regular road racing experience, translates easily to me with the wheel.

  12. I don't know if anyone else is using it, but I got the Logitech PS3 Driving Force wheel....um...yeah....

I played the first couple nights just with the hand controller. I would fair ok. But with the wheel, the driving sim is so much more precise.

You can really feel the control of the car, which allows me to get a better line and drive out of the corners.

I have Forza2 and the Xbox wheel. I thought for sure that combination would be unbeatable. But this PS3 wheel in GT5 is just as accurate with feel and control over the car.

Not only that, but I feel it gives the game a whole new experience over using a regular controller.

Construction is high quality. The feed back is good, and realistic. The foot pedals (only gas and brake on my version) have a good build to them.

It has a drop bar with spikes on it, and they really dig in and hold on carpet! ( my xbox pedals would slide all over the place)

Yeah its an extra purchase to play GT5. And if you can, I would highly recommend it. Otherwise (to me) it would be like playing rock band with a regular controller.

Having a guitar structured controller just allows for more fun and realistic play. I cant see playing GT5 now any other way other than using this wheel.

  13. Q: Does it really take 50 minutes and 40GB to install? I have read this on some review, but I'm not sure that I buy it.

maybe 40 minutes, about 8 GB

Yeah, and you are given an option not to. But it does warn if you choose not to install, expect looong load times.

Im just getting started. Finished the B1 license. Took awhile, as I'm a stickler for getting all golds in the license dept.

Did the kart racing in the special section. Those are a blast.

The only online racing I've done is with my buddies. I set up races in my lounge, invite them in, and go race. Pretty fun.

I want to try out the track maker. I love that stuff. Oh man, the HOURS I spent with the C-64 on Racing Destruction Set track builder!

Now, I hope they work on a PS3 Tourist Trophy at some point, as I still play this title nearly daily. MotoGP 09/10 is great. But to buy and tune production bikes would rock...to me.

  14. Today is 'official news' day (finally).

Nov 24th release date for USA/EUR.

    Complete car list (here)

    Complete track list (here)

    1031 cars

despite the rumors about 'all of them,' only 50 are skylines

El Capitan track--my favorite in the series--is missing. I wonder what happened, I'd swear there was a few seconds of it in a trailer.

citta di aria, costa di amalfi, Seattle, infineon raceway, new york, opera paris, seoul, twin ring motegi, mid-field, apricot hill, are all MIA too, but El Capitan hurts.

And the Top Gear test track! Its and air field, but still kinda cool.

  15. I'm pretty sure Hat Trick and One on One Basketball did. Xevious also used it but it could be played with a one button stick but both guns would fire at the same time. Choplifter too maybe? I'm going by memory here but I know Hat Trick and One on One need two buttons for sure.

This makes sense. I just got a 7800 and only have a 2600 joystick. One on One, Baseball, and 1 other i cant remember I couldn't get to work. Looks like i'll have find some 7800 sticks!

  16. Anyone know of any similar games that play like this? Thanks.

Over at my buddy's last night and played Just Cause 2. It has missions, free roam, shoot stuff, blow up stuff, and in the (3rd person?) viewing style like uncharted. Pretty fun. I think it would be a consideration.

  17. I love bike racing (a very unpopular gaming genre) but Moto GP has always been insanely hard. Are the controls just as bad as ever in this version?

I'd say it the controls are the same.

What can make it hard is if you drive the bike like a car. Or play the game like a kind of arcade style. You cant hold the throttle button, and rip thru corners. It just wont work. Its a balance of speed on straights, and slowing for corners.

Also, over correcting the steering is what I see happening alot with players too. The bike wants to go straight, and are very touchy on steering (flicking left and right). Too much causes you to go too severe left or right, and so you are constantly fighting to get it back on a straight line and under control.

To avoid this, brake on an upcoming corner. Slow down to a good entry speed.

Look for breaking markers on the track, numbers on cards 4 3 2 1. Or the red/white stripes on the edge of the track. They can give you info to let off the gas and coast to the upcoming corner. I use those as throttle on or off indicators myself. Even a graphic, banner, or part of the stands at a corner. Something you can always remember that when you pass it you know.. "there, now I need to start slowing down for this corner"

Initiate the corner. Once you see and feel the you are on a good line thru the corner (meaning your not going to run wide and shoot off the track. or to slow and start to go inside the track) start to accelerate thru the corner.

Once you can see your corner is about to be complete (straight away) let go of the control stick to let the bike stand up and go its straight line. If you come out of the corner a little to much left or right of the track, all it takes is minimal input on the stick to correct your line.

I think people are used to holding the stick all the way left or right to turn. You dont need to that with this. Its only a light tap or touch that is required to reposition the bike.

The only exception to holding the stick all the way left or right, is in the corner. All the way left or right in a corner helps keep you at max lean angle to get thru a corner.
