I feel compelled to drop a line after whats happened to me after the past month or so... A few weeks ago, guy I work with and I were talking about 80's and games etc. So, the Atari was mentioned. After about a 20 minute monologue spilling my love for the console (which at the time, I didn't have one...only as a kid back in the late 70's) he tells me he got one at home, been in the garage for years and it's taking space. Fast foreward to the next morning, and he walks in, hands me an Atari console, 2 original Joysticks, Paddles, 15 games, 1 being Omega Race complete with the "booster" grip controller. and all the wiring to hook it to the tv.
"Here" he exclaims, "Seems like you'll enjoy it, keep it"
WOW. not what I was expecting. No, nothing rare about the games, but who cares. I'm re-united with an old love affair!
Thats about it, I found AtariAge doing a search on Atari stuff. I had no idea that the Atari community was still so prominent! I've found so much info here-like paddle cleaning-
Ok, enough rambling, thank you Atari! Thank you AtariAge! And glad to see all you all here keeping the Atari legacy thriving!
Man, this is great!
