  1. ( this thread is going to be interesting to read like 3-4 years from now ) I'm probably like in the 1% here on this. But when I switched from buying VHS movies to DVDs in 2000, it was easy. I mean, I bought a DVD player, a couple of DVDs, and bang! I was on my way to being a DVD format consumer. That was it. There was nothing else to consider. Today? If you don't do the research, (like I said, I'm probably in the 1% here) you kinda get lost on what to do. 720p, 1080i, plasma, LCD, DLP, component, HDMI...geezuz! Maybe I missed the reasons, but why the hell are there like 20 variations (read my sarcasm on that figure) when considering HD? I wonder if the HD format was a little more standard (and this is just me) a little less confusing on what your getting into, maybe these new formats would be more welcomed. And since I have not really researched HD tvs and the new DVD formats, maybe there is a simple or standard setup. Eh, I 'll figure it out one of these days.
  2. I have not, but after seeing this set-up I can't wait!
  3. I think we'll easily get another 30 out of 'em!
  4. Did I read somewhere, that you would be able to add or load your own music to play to? That would be killa
  5. Kinda of the wild. Loose in Atari bin at a local game shop for $.94 Dude, the next time you go out shopping let me know and i will go along! Never find stuff like this in the wild! Your one lucky bastard! Those sega games and now this. Congratulations! haahaahha. I don't know what it is. I wasn't really even in the mood to go hunting. I was driving by the store and decided..well, I better stop, just to have a look. Here I go again to go stare a table with a bunch of commons on it. Yeah, I did a double take when I saw the end label.
  6. Way cool. Somewhere on here I posted a christmas pic of myself sitting next to my dad Christmas day. He is unpacking the new Atari. If I found the reciept for that purchase...that would be quite a magical find!
  7. Probably. I tried to play it when I got. I had no idea what was going on. Looked at the instructions here, so I'll have to give it another go. It cleaned up nicely. I think I had about 7-8 qtips worth of dark brown gunk on the inside (slot), and a damp cloth to clean the cart itself. The other games I picked up also suffered the same cleaning.

  9. Very cool finds! I occasionally find receipts in with my Atari finds as well, and I save all of them. Check inside that Boxing cart for the elusive foam...1980 is about the right time when Boxing was first released, so chances are good that the foam is intact. poop, i got nothing.
  10. I picked this up this weekend. I saw it is listed as a R9. What! Really!?! I'm posting a pic to verify if this is really the R9 Glib listed here.
  11. Oh, here is what I picked up. All with instructions, and found another receipt from '81.
  12. Pick up a few boxed commons. Nothing to get excited about, until...I opened the box. I pulled out a rolled up slip of paper that was shoved into a corner in the box. It was a sale receipt for the purchase of Boxing! Not only that, but the date (3.29.80) was the same as the day I bought it (3.29.07)! How flipping crazy!!! I just thought that was the coolest ever. Yes, they were .94 each.
  13. See thats just it. I think this wheel will really shine when used with those sim racing games like PGR3 and Forza. To me, Burnout and the like are more of a button masher race game versus driver finesse. Yeah, I think I'm going to have to go get this. Thanks for your input!
  14. I know! I may just have to go pick this up at some point. I want to attach some hand clamps to it so I can fabricate psuedo handle bars while racing MotoGP!
  15. Yeah I dont know, I've never really gone there searching for games. Guess I should start. Tapper was on top of the box. I was so excited when I saw that! I've always wanted to have/play that one. The others were just added bonus. I got these during my lunch break, now I have to wait to get home to play 'em! Right now, I'm coasting on that proverbial "collecting high"
  16. Just wanted to share a personal collecting accomplishment. Other than a few must have titles (from ebay), my collection is entirely finds from the wild or gifts. Needless to say, I think my rarest game was a R5. The rest, a slew of R1-4s. Went into a pawn shop looking for a effect pedal for my guitar, found nothing. So decided to browse the store. Saw a box of Atari carts. Picked thru what I needed and left the rest (common stuff). Walked away with these for $10 bucks. Up N Down, my first R7!!!!
  17. You know, the bolts that hold carts together. I need to find a tool that unscrews those little guys. Thought I'd read somewhere here what you guys were using if you don't have one of those nifty little devices. I picked up a NES toaster style console too, and it has those same damn screws. I want to tear it apart to clean it. Can you even find that type of screwdriver at a local hardware shop? Even a link to another thread will do.
  18. Funny? Well, it kept me entertained. I got a chuckle here and there. I'd say he did his job. At least he has video documentation of his MS support "progress". Geez, (knock on something wood) I don't want 360 problems and have to go thru all that nonsense.
  19. Are you saying 07 is harder putting? What about Tiger vision? Did that carry over? And does a caddy tip still say something like 4 ft left and 3 inches short or whatever while putting? Power boost. Still have that? Where is it on a 360 controller?
  20. I've played my friends Xbox Tiger Woods 2005, in fact we play it about 3 times a week. I want to get a copy for my 360. I see that there is 2006 and a 2007 for the 360. Are they the same? One better than the other? I really like and am used to the play stlye and format of 2005 on the Xbox. Which would suit me best? Thanks!
  21. Same here! I must not be a "collector" though. I have niether and I'm not going to pay that kind of cash. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of both movies, and would love to have them, but I'll have to wait till the day I might find them in the wild.
  22. Well I (we) did see something different. Last night I asked my girlfriend to look at both M.A.D. and Commando Raid because she was there with me when I played it Saturday. She agrees. While the play was like Commando Raid, the background was different (not rainbow colors), and the canon was not in that trench/hole place. It was on level ground. Who knows.
