  1. Sorry for the confusion.

I really want Relief Pitcher and Hotdog Lynx carts very much.

I bumped this old post to get the attention Willard from Beta Phase Games website to talk him into releasing carts of "HotDog" and "Relief Pitcher" again because I missed the first run back in 2011.

I think Everyone in this forum who missed this when these awsome titles were released 6 years ago should reply to this post to persuade them into releasing these awsome prototypes again.

Perhaps if enough people show interest here, it could boost the chances of releasing these again.

    Definitely worthy of another run.

I know I would purchase immediately. I unsuccessfully been trying to get a cart of these 2 games for years........I havnt had any luck finding Hotdog or Relief Pitcher. Last time I saw them was on ebay a few years ago and the price was insane. The seller on ebay wanted like 200 dollars and up. I havnt seen them on ebay or anywhere else since.

I did however see someone was selling Hotdog in the atariage marketplace last year for a much more reasonable price than the ebay seller, but i was too late responding and missed out.

    Bumping this one too.

I am still interested in having this game, I am sure there are still a lot others too.

How about a production re-run of this game?

  2. Hi All,

I have already own prototypes since over 1 year. The protos running stable and you have no flickering. I have tested a lot of games and there were no problems. It is 100% compatible. With these PCBs you are able to get the ATARI LYNX-II connected to VGA! It is also a replacement for an old or defective LCD. The replacement is a 3.5" TFT and the result is much much better than the original! Very high contrast and perfect colours! It is very easy to install in your own ATARI LYNX-II. You just have to connect 2 cables for power, 9 cables for LCD, 1 cable for VGA switch. If you want to connect to VGA, you only have to connect further 4 cables. At present it is only available for the LYNX-II. With the backlight-button you can switch between onboard-LCD or VGA. The new LCD saves a lot of power.

I attached some pictures. If some people of you are interested to buy the full assembled PCB, please let me know via PM. The price is 95,00 EUR for the assembled PCB, VGA-Connector with screws and installation guide plus shipping.

These days I will start an auction on ebay: ATARI LYNX-II with power supply and LCD replacement and VGA.attachicon.gifFull_Size_VGA.JPGattachicon.gifVGA_Cable.JPGattachicon.gifPCB_LCD.JPGattachicon.gifPCB_Upper.JPG

I would be very sceptical, since user McWill has no known history except for those 2 post on the same topic. Who guarantees that we will receive what we paid for, and that the quality lives up to what is promised.

No video and no other evidence, be it from other forums or reference from users is a minus as well.

I´d rather wait for one of the two already established solutions unless we hear more on the subject.

  3. I contacted Mr Candle a week or so ago on his private page, asking as kindly as one could if he could address this topic.

    I quite wish he would.

I intend to pay him for his work a few times over if he will make them.

Mr McWill, you have 2 posts , identical.

So, you'll have to go some way to get my money.

How are you building these? Are you copying Mr Candle's work, has he given you the designs and the code to burn?

    Just wondering.

  4. Why not make it a kickstarter campaign? I am sure there will be enough backers for this project.

Graphics are awsome, I am sure the gameplay will be great as well....first production will be sold out quicklier than you can think :D

  5. OmniWars for Atari Lynx

I'd like to show you some mock-ups and animations (made by me) and two demos (made by Matthias Domin, he made them just for fun based on the mock-ups "tutorial" and "underwater-stage" without knowing further details about the project) that were created last year. I hope you like it ;-)

    Just W O W.

Please make a game out of this!

  6. same, just hold on a little longer :P plans are by end of year still for hotdog at the very least.

Oh, well ...I was hoping to find it as a present for myself under the xmas tree...

At least its good to hear that there is progress. Thanks for the update!

  7.

hotdog will be available this year yet for sure. hopefully before Christmas. Whether it will be released with whatever else we wanted to is still unknown but likely, just keeping the end of year as a deadline so that we get it out regardless, and do the best we can with other projects before then.

That´s great news! Is there a chance to already pre-order?

  8. yes its identical to least time. i don't know about relief pitcher, that has not been discussed yet due to how busy things have been in regard to work, other obligations .etc. it is good to see there seems to be a reasonable amount of interest though, the plan was once we finish releasing all our projects we can begin to make them more consistently available. but the prints will be sporadic until we get all of our releases out because our main goal is to get everything out to the community and make sure it's preserved and out there.

Any update on Hot Dog? Will it be available before xmas this year?

  9.

    Taking on the project.

    This will require -

    1) Getting PCB's made

    2) Soldering components

    3) Configuring chips

    4) Casing the boards

    5) Making and applying labels

    6) Selling / distributing finished units

Ok, send me a pm. Maybe we can work smthg out.

  10. Does anyone want to build the interfaces ?. I can send you the PCB file to get some boards made.

Well stupid question, I know. But what kind of help do you need? Maybe I can do something...

  11. Does anyone want to build the interfaces ?. I can send you the PCB file to get some boards made.

Richard, btw, your site doesn´t exist anymore (www.vectrex.biz). I come by it on many sites referring to you, and it is always your .biz domain. Do you have a new site?

  12. The biggest problem holding back making more is the cost of the Speakjet chip per-unit. The final price is largely a function of the generous (potentially one-off) volume-pricing discount that I arranged years ago based on the combination of me willing to take a loss and thinking that there were enough people out there to sell every unit. So if I were confident enough that there were, let's say, 100 or more people who wanted AtariVox+ units then I could probably order 100 chips and get a decent discount. Otherwise if I bought in a low quantity the boards would be considerably more expensive. While some people might still pay if it were more money, it doesn't seem fair considering how affordable the last run was. While they would still need to be assembled, there's no shortage of extra PC Boards--and used Genesis extension cables can still be scoped out.

So it's kind of stuck in a no-man's land where there are a few people coming forward to express their dismay that they missed out, but not yet enough to make me feel motivated to wheel and deal for a batch discount.

If I get bored enough I might build some more boards with everything in them other than the speakjet, just to get them poised and ready to go. There's a part of me that's kind of nostalgic for when I did the soldering back in the day, and my life has calmed down recently so that I'm not quite so much in the animation tunnel-vision. That might ultimately be the only solution, to premake everything and then buy the chips in low quantities and sell them at a higher price-point.

Sorry for my late answer, I didn´t check for some time in this thread.

I am still interested and wouldn´t mind paying 50 $ for that too. But I do get your point. I wish I could do that myself. Personally I really like the sleek solution that I saw with the black housing and a sticker on top...really cool.

If there is any chance to get one, please let me know. I definitely buy one.

  13. Will there be another production run of AtariVox+ for Vectrex owners?

I just found out about it and I am deeply disappointed that there aren´t any left to buy....

  14.

That was taken from my world record run of Star Castle on the Vectrex. The score is "0" and the row of "X" below it indicate I have more than 10 ships in reserve. So, in essence, it's a snapshot of me hitting a million in Star Castle. I have a YouTube video of the performance:

You´re now responsible for me bying a Vectrex in the nearest future. Have read about it lots in the past years, even came across it on a vintage game fair (but ending up ignoring it), but never really was interested in it until 1st of July 2014. Historical day, so to say :)

  15.

Thanks for the mention ; )

I released Sundance just 1 week ago! Check it out:

    http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1_1.htm

It's an extremely accurate re-creation of the Cinematronics classic. Several game modes, better sun graphics/animation, 1 or 2 players.

This is my first game with a simultaneous 2-player mode (2 controllers needed).

I released War of the Worlds in June. Another Cinematronics remake with some updated game play.

    http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m2_1.htm

At the beginning of the year I released Zantis, which is loosely based on the raster game Spiders.

    http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m3_1.htm

Last year, I released a series of games, the Sector-X trilogy: 3D Sector-X, Sectis, and Continuum.

And years ago, Royal 21, 3D Lord of the Robots, Vector 21, I Cyborg, and War of the Robots.

Warrior will be my next release:

    http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m1_1.htm

The following games are currently available for puchase:

    I, Cyborg

    Royal 21

    Sectis

    Continuum

    Zantis

    War of the Worlds

    Sundance

    Hey there,

just came across your post. Congrats on "War of the Worlds" - amazing work!

Are you shipping the game in an "original" 80ies box design? Just curious...I am interested in ordering, but dislike the VHS box design/feel...

    Best,

    Wolf
