  1. Hello everyone, I´ve been playing this adventure quite a while with my girlfriend together and we were having fun with it. But now it gets annoying: For some reason we don´t get any further, we´re stuck at Europe 1700. I can make it across the swinging axe, but then I don´t know how I can get out of the building (afaik I have to get into the "backyard", but I don´t know how). I already have the white and black key. The FAQs/Solutions on the web don´t do us any good, they´re not precise enough and that one on Atariage doesn´t even come close being of any help. Please, anyone?
  2. Try a different technology. Step away from NiCD and NiMH. LiPo is the thing you might want to try. Small in size and VERY powerful. It´s THE technology in micro RC Helicopters.
  3. Well, at least now I know that they are selling different batches of "grades" of batteries...
  4. Well, in my case I NEVER buy from private sellers, only from official retailers - in this case from Amazon. I do know about cheap fakes, so I thought I could sort that out when I stick with retailers. And they didn´t look like cheapo fakes, since you can buy exactly the same brand and type in supermarkets for a much higher price....
  5. I did it in the past. The reason why I stepped away from it is that the connector doesn´t stick tight enough. It happened several times deeper into games that I moved instinctively during gameplay and lost power. Thats the main reason why I rather use batteries (or the Naki Pack for Lynx II). I didn´t have a chance so far to buy the power pack for Lynx I. I plan to make it a rechargeable battery pack some time in the future.
  6. Well, that would include EVERY KIND of brand...
  7. Well, I bought an industry pack (50pcs/pack) off Amazon. Didn´t have any trouble yet with them, one was Duracell, one was Panasonic.
  8. Panasonic is a "crummy" brand? Since when?
  9. No, certainly not. I used 6 fresh batteries from Panasonic, named "Xtreme Power". Lynx I usually powers off around 1.19 Volts per cell, I have measured that in the past with my voltmeter. Every cell is around that value, +-0.02 Volts. I am 100% sure it is not Lynx-related. It must be a battery issue. Like I said, I´ve never seen that happen to me.
  10. I am really interested in your reactions, folks. This never happened to me during the last 20 years or so....at least I NEVER experienced this myself. Before we started, I replaced the batteries with new ones (Panasonic "Xtreme Power"), just to have enough power for our session. I was playing "Rampage" today with my girlfriend, when suddenly her Lynx I flashed for a brief moment its screen, making a fizzing noise and switched off. The noise would stay, and from underneath some brownish soup started to leak onto our sofa. I reacted quickly and took out all batteries (yes, one or two were leaking!), grabbed some handkerchiefs and started cleaning the Lynx, while she put the blankets covering the sofa into the washing machine. Fortunately nothing leaked onto the boards, no damage and after a short I found everything to work fine. Thanks to the cleverly designed battery compartment. Now...did you experience this on whatever console or handheld game DURING a session? I am curious...
  11. Well, maybe someone here on the forum could do a port, if it´s not too difficult....I wouldn´t mind paying 30-50 Euros for that game if it came in CIB.
  12. Wouldn´t make that a nice port for the Lynx? http://www.retrocityrampage.com/
  13. I haven´t followed the way of development so far of that game, but I have to say that it´s well done! The only thing though that disturbs me is the status bar being rather big compared to the size of the screen & to the right side instead of "down". I think for playability it would be great to either map it to a button (e.g. only show it when needed), or to make it smaller at least. I don´t think it would hurt gameplay if it stays where it is in the original game... What do you think?

Why don´t you mod a NAKI powerpack? It´s still available on ebay, and NiCads are incredibly cheap nowadays. I get roughly 7 hours out of my modded 2400 mAh pack. Frankly I don´t care about the power draw - I always have an ac adaptor as a backup lying around.
  15. Naaaah....I don´t think so. People just upload them to the chip in their brain
  16. I think this is the guy who posted the "Manga Poker" a few weeks back on Ebay - I was referreing to it in a post. I remember it by the VHS-cover he is using on his homepage for boxing the games. It must be him who is selling them for quite some time now - although they don´t show up regularly on Ebay....looks more like a "promotional" sale then. Edit: Looks like he is conntected to or in the modding scene. He is selling those RGB-cables, that are sought-after on some TV-consoles of the 90ies.

    Hahhaha...a very good one!
  18. Been playing it with my girlfriend quite often now, we´re having a lot of fun together with it. There´s only one problem - she´s dying way too quickly. I finally found out why - there are some soldiers (the dynamite throwing ones) in the middle of the buildings, especially on higher floors (4th and above). They keep giving her a hard time and her life power is down in no time. You can´t outmaneuver them, they keep hitting you with the dynamite almost everywhere... Is there a way to eat them? Those on the sides of a building can be eaten easily, but them in the middle it seems impossible to access. Is there solution to this, or do we have to live with it?
  19. Yes, like the first games on the PC in 16 colors.

    Lynx to VGA

    Cool understatement.
  21. Nowadays it shoudln´t be such a big problem - having access to a 3D printer helps. On the VB forum someone printed out gamepak covers for homebrews, that looked exactly like the original ones. Maybe this is possible for the Lynx too? One would have to 3D scan the sticks assembly and then print it. I wonder how durable this kind of plastic is...
  22. Good to know! Do you know if this thingie still shows up in the UK? Afaik it wasn´t available at my place, never saw in stores back in the 90ies, when I had my GB/GG...
