Do you know if there's a way to make MessUI not save that information? Or a way to use MessUI with .cass files? I do usually use MessUI, it's so much more conveniant. I just can't figure out how to make it work with .cass files...

I am trying to use Mess with TRS-80 CoCo .cass files. The problem is that when I enter the command: mess64.exe coco -cass filename.ext it should start the CoCo emulator with the filename.ext file in the virtual tape player and then I should type cloadm to load the file and exec to execute it. But it seems that mess "remembers" a previous rom cartridge I was using and so the coco always boots to that game before I can do my cloadm and exec.... How can I make Mess "forget" about whatever I was playing previously? Thanks

Hi Trebor, Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. I thought I was crazy or something. It's such a strange thing with emulation sometimes. I read everyone saying how some emulator is so fantastic, then I try it and I right away say "this isn't right..." Then I immediately think "What the heck am I doing wrong?" While digital input for the joysticks on a 5200 will work on a lot of games it really is kind of missing the whole point of the 5200. Thanks again for your help.

Nobody here uses Altira to emulate the Atari 5200??

Does the Altira emulator support analog joysticks for the Atari 5200? It seems to me that it is behaving as if my analog joystick is digital. Is this a setting I have wrong or does it not support reading analog joysticks properly?

What was the version of Mame where they made that change that caused all types of sound syncing problems with older games? I'd like to rollback to prior to that big mess. Mame has gone downhill from there as far as I'm concerned...

Yea, but how do I get the roms back to the state they were in in a previous version? That's the main problem.

I wish I kept my older version of Mame in my cabinet. The newer versions of screwed up quite a few of my old 80's favorites....

I will probably pick one up after a price drop and Halo 5 and/or Crackdown 3 are released. But I doubt it will be my go to machine this generation, like the original Xbox and Xbox 360 were... I just prefer Sony's vision of a console more. I almost choked saying that... Lol

As a huge fan of the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 it pains me to say this but goodbye Microsoft. I guess we just grew apart and see the world differently today. I will always remember the good times we had together but it's time for us to go our sepererate ways....

If you think you can copy directories to a DVD and then copy them on to a new windows pc and everything will work, well I don't know what to say.... That won't work from one XP pc to another XP pc either.... Windows programs have to be installed. Very few programs support xcopy installs...

I get what you're saying and I know I'm coming across as an even more crabby old man than I really am. But like I said if the config files were there and you had a readme file there that said the rom names need to match the config file names users would be 95% there. I just think that when someone who is not a complete computer noob can't make heads or tails out of what is wrong things could be easier. Like I said, I got everything working great thanks to pimpmaul69's help. But I never would have gotten it to work without his help. And that's a damn shame because this emulator is really, really good. Just my 2 cents....
