  1. What is there to integrate? Why not simply drop all the config files in the roms folder that comes with your emulator with a little readme file that says these roms need config files? The rom name must match the config file name. You obviously have them to test your program. Sorry, I truly appreciate the work you did with this emulator, I really do. But as someone who was a programmer himself for 20 years (nothing like emulators, business database apps) I could always see why users would get pissed off at developers.I mean the solution is so simple and requires no coding at all. There is nothing to integrate in to the emulator. That's the old let's write a ton of complex of code to fix a simple issue that can be fixed in another way much more simply, I've seen so many times over the years...
  2. No way to configure the joysticks?
  3. Anyone have an extra set of Bally Astrocade Controllers they'd like to sell?
  4. But where were we supposed to get the cfg files? Or even know about the need for them? I mean these files should be mentioned everywhere. Hell, why doesn't the emulator come with all of them you need? There's no proprietary info in any of them. It contains no commercial code.... Whatever, it works now.
  5. That was indeed the problem. jzintv needs cfg files for the roms. You would think this tidbit of knowledge would be mentioned a bit more... Thanks pimpmaul69 for the help. Also DZ-Jay for looking into this.
  6. Well if jzintv needs configuration files for each rom then that's going to be my problem. I certainly didn't know this, didn't see this mentioned anywhere or have any idea how to create a configuration file for a rom.
  7. So you did have problems with roms and jzintv? where did you find roms that work with it? like I said all my roms work with my other emulators, just not jzintv
  8. Don't thank me dude, you are helping me. Sorry if I get snippy, it's just frustrating and I'm not (and least the voices in my head tell me I'm not) crazy.

  10. I download the latest version of jzintv (beta 4?) and copied that into the gui's folder but still have the same issue. I also don't use the intellivision roms that came with jzintv but rather the "official" roms that every emulator uses. Like I said who knows what the problem is? It could be the gui, but then why do some roms work fine and others don't? And I'm sorry, but software that craps out with no error message, no error file, no nothing in this day and age is just bad form to say the least.... Oh and you can't use long file names in the hackfile path? I don't know if this is the frontend or jzintv but come on! What year is this?
  11. This is exactly what is happening to me. And that is also what I "figured" myself, thus why I asked where people are getting their roms from. The roms I have are from who knows how long ago. I literally have no idea when I got them, it was probably 8+ years ago.But they work fine in every emulator I tried them in, Bliss, Nostalgia and Mess. Just tested them again. And like you I am using the gui frontend for jzintv, and I'm having the exact same issue. Is it the gui? Is it the emulator? Is it the roms? Is it the config? jzintv craps out with no message whatsoever... FWIW I'm using Windows 7 64 bit I didn't really configure anything in jzintv other than tell the gui where my roms are, where my grom, exec and ecs are, and what hackfile to use. It acutally seems that I might have figured out the hackfile issues for 1 controller but the emulator still crashes on most roms whether I use the hackfile or not. On the roms that do work, the controller is now mapped correctly. And like I said I am executing the emulator from the gi frontend. When I say the roms don't work I mean they don't work at all. Black or pink screen, nothing of the rom screen ever shows up it just crashes out in a few seconds back to the gui. The roms that do work work perfectly...
  12. Dragon Fire does work Dig Dug does not work. Again these are all roms that work fine in Nostalgia, Bliss and Mess
  13. BurgerTime does work fine Diner does not work Demon attack does not work etc. I would say 75 % of my roms that run fine in my other emulators do not work in jzintv. The window just turns totally black, or totally pink then after a minute or 2 the emulator crashes out.
  14. What roms work with jzintv? Obviously it is much more picky about the roms than other emulators are. Most roms that work fine in other emulators don't work at all in jzintv. Now that I've actually found a few that do work I'm making some progress configuring it. But where can I get a rom collection that all the roms do work in jzintv?
  15. Well I don't know how to upload screen shot images so I don't know how to show you anything...
  16. I still can't figure out how to configure the hackfile. The emulator doesn't just immediately exit anymore, but the keys don't work right. also jzintv doesn't seem to like most of my game roms. Most games just crash. everything works fine in Nostalgia, but of course it doesn't seem to support all 16 directions of the intellivision controller. Overall I think jzintv is a piece of crap. YMMV...
  17. I tried but whenever I tell jzintv to use the keyboard hack file it immediately exits. obviously something is wrong with the file but since I get absolutely no error message it's kind of difficult to figure out what it doesn't like...
  18. How do you figure out which controller is which in jzintv? I have multiple joysticks connected to my pc. Also how do you debug a problem with the keyboard hackfile? I tried using the keyboard hackfile that was linked to earlier in this thread and if I select it in the GUI the program immediately quits when run. No error is given or anything. God I f*cking hate command line based emulators with GUI front-ends. Yea they're great when its all debugged, but getting everything right sucks ass... With all the work that is put into these emulators how hard would it be to make a small configuration utility for them? Ridiculous...
  19. Not to be sound too stupid here but how do you configure the controllers in jzintv?
  20. Well I got it working. Forsome reason MESS doesn't seem to work right when the colecovion controller is selected. But when I say I'm using the Super Action controller it does work right, even though I'm just using the standard controller. Whatever. This device works quite cool with MESS now. Tomorrow I'm going to try it with an Intellivion Emulator. Any recommendations on which one works best?
  21. I tried this and the joystick on the colecovision controller still doesn't work in MESS. But the keypad of the colceovion controller does. What the heck? Is there something glichy with MESS? Should I try another emulator?
  22. I don't want to ask a stupid question but how do you configure a joystick to be used for the 5200 in your emulator?
  23. OK, so what do I need to do in MESS to make these work? I tried to configure my Colecvion controller in MESS the same way I configure all my controls in MAME, MESS sees my controller but the joystick doesn't work. It's obviosly not a hardware issue because MESS sees the up, down, left, right of the controller in its controller configuration setting area, but doesn't use the joystick when I start the game. So I must be doing something wrong in MESS but don't know what.
  24. Lol, bugs in the Coco rom? Well it was written by Microsoft... Actually I loved my Coco's. I had all 3 versions. Great little machine.
