  1. looks like they did the same thing with all the other SMS games as well.
  2. Make sure you ship the dead bug back to him. Don't want him claiming it was returned incomplete!! I feel for ya.. I'm screwing around with a bunch of deadbeats that cant even send me the correct controller.
  3. Yeah I missed a chance to get a boxed gyruss just last week, but I think it was for the computer line. I hate it when I forget about an upcoming auction!
  4. Is there a diff between the sm124 and sm125? Or is there no such thing as a 125?
  5. I think your right... it may be a normal famicom controller... Here is a link of an auction for a famicom controller.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...75&category=187 Here is a link to one of their auctions for the same thing I got. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3531760926 Here is a link of one of their own auctions of what they SHOULD have sent me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3038512497 I think these people have reached a whole new level of stupidity. There response to my last email was. "We thought it would work, what do you want to do". I should have told them to stick it in their ear. Anyways I sent them a nice little email with the link of their very own auction!!! Buyer beware!!
  6. I know the pictures suck, but has anybody ever seen or heard of this? If you have a web link with info, that'd be great!
  7. Do you know if any of these "conversions" are available somewhere on the internet? I was thinking of starting a thread on this, cause alot of the problems were created by direct calls to ROM routines that were moved. Many of which would be easy to correct. Funny how this never occured to me "back in the day", or maybe it did and I ran into problems. Who knows.
  8. I tried my cute little radioshack NIMH battery charger/universal adapter pack thingy with my lynx today and the thing acts like the batteries are dead. Oh well.... guess I'll have to find another alternative to that D battery brick that I have to carry around.
  9. You sound almost like me... once I got into BBS's I spent more time chatting in the msg boards then gaming.
  10. Just a warning about store displays... pay attention to the lighting. Sometimes they provide "optimal" lighting conditions to make a handheld look better. I remember toys -r- us did that for the neogeo pocket.
  11. The exact text from the auction was... "You are bidding on a Brand New GAME AXE system package which includes the following: 1 brand new GameAxe portable handheld system, 1 GameAxe Famicom converter(allows you to play NES games on the GameAxe), 1 GameAxe AC adapter, 2 GameAxe controllers, .... etc etc"
  12. I got this dilemna and wanted to ask people who are a little more experienced with ebay on how they would handle this. I got this item that I purchased on ebay with buy it now. It's a game axe portable system. It comes with a power adapter, cartridge converter, a cable to hook it up to a tv, and two nintendo style controllers. The box arrived a couple days after I won it. The only thing in the box was the game axe system. So I sent a nice little email asking the seller if they shipped the other stuff in a seperate box because it was not there. They said they would send it out right away. About a week plus later, still no sign of the missing items. So I sent them an email asking if they sent it. The only response I got was "Yes it was sent". I got a box from them the next day. Inside the box was an Atari Jaguar UNIVERSAL power supply. They must be universal cause everyone seems to like to use them for systems besides the Jaguar (Another system I won came with a Jag supply). That's fine.. I can deal with that. As long as it works. The cartridge adapter and tv connector was there, as well as two controllers. Problem is the controllers are standard sega genesis 3 button generic controllers (no select button). By this point I have no intention of leaving the knuckle heads positive feedback, cause they screwed up my order twice already. So I send them an email telling them the controllers were standard sega genesis controllers. There response.... "They should work"... Bulllllogna!! What a bunch of numnuts. So I sent them another email saying that the controllers work great in my sega genesis, but the DO NOT work on the game axe. I even sent them pictures from their own website of what the controllers should look like, as well as pictures of the ones I got. I'm still waiting for a response regarding that. But my question is, should I leave negative feedback? My concern is whether they would leave negative feedback in retaliation. If they cannot cough up the proper controllers, I at least plan on asking for a partial refund (enough to pay for the correct controllers). I may even tell them to do a ebay search on the words "game axe controllers" so they can see what they are supposed to be selling. If I'm feeling really fiesty I may send them pinouts of a sega system compared to a game axe system. Anyways, any suggestions?
  13. Yeah while they are laughing all the way to the bank with the money they get from auctioning it off on ebay. No thanks. Do they at least pay to have the stuff shipped to them?
  14. You guys are way out of my league. Luckily I have so many systems I'm collecting for it will be eons before I get to the rarities!!
  15. Ouch... to bad I just sold my XEGS..... But I still have a lynx system and a handful of carts for it. The lynx is sorta kinda pending trades, though. I really need to catch up with the people who made offers.
  16. We really need a manual preservation site for the 8-bit. I was going thru several titles for my 8-bit with my sio2pc adapter, and my memory is a bit fuzzy on alot of titles. If I have time I'll have to dig thru my disks. I know I had a pretty decent sized collection of typed up documentation somewhere.
  17. Anybody have the translator "cart"? I always wonder whether it interfered with disk based binaries that load into the "cart memory" area, or not.
  18. Kangaroo? What was wrong with kangaroo? I actually liked it better than the arcade version.
  19. From http://users.erols.com/tiltonj/games/tech/power.html True.. but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the lynx's do not handle this extra output very well. Or is it they do not have very good protection if the polarity is reversed. Either way, one has to be careful what they plug into their lynx.
  20. I don't really remember what happened to my first 2600, but then I never had many games for it. I had an intellivision two with a decent selection of titles (Diner included) that I think I gave away to a neighborhood kid. Most of the stuff I had over the years I just traded in for something new, or gave it away to people I knew or family members. I sold off most of my computer collection when I got married. Wish I woulda kept it all, especially my SNES stuff.
  21. This story would be even better if the person you sold it too frequents these boards.
  22. You suck.... On a serious note, the AI is tough, like you said. But I got good enough to be able to consistently beat the computer. I say we make a list and post a poll... My vote goes for the bat in Adventure. He has caused me more trouble..
  23. Rayman advance is another game that is hard to see on a GBA. I completely stopped using my GBA cause I was tired of all the contourtions I had to go thru just to see the screen. That completely changed with the SP and has actually renewed my interest in it. Although I admit it does cramp my hands a little. In fact my index fingers (which wrap around the l/r buttons) tend to bump into eachother. Annoying. Can't they ever get anything right? I'm seriously considering getting one of those mad catz grips. Ahhhh to have younger eyes.
  24. Get yourself some bi-focals sonny!!! Or better yet buy a GP32, it has a bigger screen!
