  2. Hi........I picked up this game rather cheap from ebay....after reading ALL the praise and great reviews....in addition I am an average rally game fan....of course starting with the almighty sega rally......... I have had the game for about 2 months and have given it a fair shot...but I cannot get into it.....maybe its the controller....maybe its the transmission...i always use manual with racing games but with rallipsort challenge these cars have 6 gears...i'd be shifting like crazy with the amount of turns in some of those tracks..... Perhaps I should be downshifing with a manual instead of braking before a curve........... For whatever reason...I need some tips and suggestions from others who have mastered this promising game.......the graphics are stunning and I really want to like and play this game...really... Thanks all
  3. Hi, I have a wireless Microsoft network in my house that shares my cable modem connection between 2 computers. All this Xbox live online game play sounds really cool and I would like to get my Xbox live. Can I just buy another Wireless USB adapter and plug that into the Xbox and go live, of course after signing up and paying appropriate fees?. Is there more to it? I have seen dedicated Xbox live adapters etc....do I need one of these units....or can i just buy another wireless adapter and use that? Any other information would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance
  4. If its not too late...........please post from more pics of that work of art.....different angles / close ups...etc... That is the coolest thing I've seen in awhile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks
  5. I am up to the 150cc races on the 2nd set of races..........Just wondering what everyones favorite combo of characters and carts? I have been using paratroopa and the guy who looks like him with the cart that has the fastest accerlation..either the baby carrage one or the red paratroppa cart.........but I still have not won the Gold yet... For those that have completed all the golds on all levels....what was your most successful combo of characters and which cart is your favorite? Did you use the same combo for all the races for each level..........like the same combo for all the 150cc races??? Or did you switch according to which level you were racing? Thanks ant

  7. Cool Facts..............from http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/video-game6.htm The Sega Dreamcast was the first console to implement online play over a phone line, calling the system Sega Net. The Microsoft XBox is the first video game system to completely support HDTV. Popular Science recognized the Sega Dreamcast as one of the most important and innovative products of 1999. The Magnavox Odyssey, released in 1972, contained 40 transistors and no microprocessor. The new Pentium 4 microprocessor contains 42 million transistors on the chip itself! The PlayStation 2 is the first system to have graphics capability better than that of the leading-edge personal computer at the time of its release. The Nintendo N64 marked the first time that computer graphics workstation manufacturer Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI) developed game hardware technology. While the original Atari Football game was first created in 1973, it wasn't released until 1978. It was delayed because the game couldn't scroll the screen -- players couldn't move beyond the area shown on the monitor. When the game was finally released, it became the first game to utilize scrolling, a key part of many games today. The Atari Pong video game console was the No. 1 selling item for the holiday season in 1975. The first console to have games available in the form of add-on cartridges was the Fairchild Channel F console, introduced in August 1976. The PlayStation 2 is the first video game system to use DVD technology. On the original Magnavox Odyssey, players had to keep score themselves because the machine couldn't. The Nintendo GameCube's proprietary disc can hold 1.5 gigabytes of data -- 190 times more than what an N64 game cartridge can hold. On the market from 1977 till 1990, the Atari 2600 lasted longer than any other game system in history. The Sega Genesis featured a version of the same Motorola processor that powered the original Apple Macintosh computer. Mattel's Intellivison system, introduced in 1980, featured an add-on called "PlayCable," which delivered games by cable TV. Nintendo's Game Boy is the most successful game system ever, with more than 100 million units sold worldwide. The word atari comes from the ancient Japanese game of Go and means "you are about to be engulfed." Technically, it is the word used by a player to inform his opponent that he is about to lose, similar to "check" in chess. In the 1980s, a service called Gameline allowed users to download games to the Atari 2600 over regular phone lines. It was not a success, but did form part of the foundation for America Online, the world's largest Internet service provider. The first color portable video game system was the Atari Lynx, introduced in 1989 and priced at $149. Introduced in 1993, the 3DO was the first video game system to be based entirely on CD technology. The Sony PlayStation was originally intended as a CD add-on to the Super Nintendo. When licensing problems and other issues arose, Sony decided to develop the PlayStation as a machine of its own.

  11. Hey all, I have Rallisport Challenge and its a great game, just getting used to the controls for power slides. I have yet to have played Colin McRae Rally 3 yet. Being a huge Rally fan, I was wondering for those that have tried both which is the better game? I have read the reviews for Colin McRae Rally 3 which have stated that it is more of a SIM game as opposed to the more ARCADE RS Challenge. Any other differences and opinions of these 2 games? Thanks ant
  12. I know the development team of that title, they are friggin magicians, I went out to a celebration dinner with the entire team whilst staying in Japan. Believe it or not, they pulled this off in 9 months and the engine only pushes about 14000 polygons per frame (which is a joke these days). CPUWIZ, who do you work for? Are you in the gaming business? Just curious...... thanks
  13. Anyone getting into this game? Just picked this up from Ebay, I really like it. I have the n-64 version and the updated graphics and the addition of the turbo are really nice!!! Also gotta love the weather effects that can change throughout a race!! Currently I am into the HARD championship, havent completed it yet. I think its a great game, tight controls and great graphics!! Another GC exclusive!! What do others think about this game? Oh and who is your favorite racer? So far I like Nigel's control. I have also been using Serena, she's not bad. I hear that Rob Haywood is supposed to be good, but his control sticks!! Opinions? Comments? Later, Ant
  14. Hi....just picked this up at blockbuster for 19.99........wow what a great game.......I like it better than SM64..... The FLUDD device is really cool too!!! I just opened the 2nd level (lighthouse) .... Also still stuck getting all the red 8 coins on the first level....will give it another shot later.... Great graphics and control....although the camera is a pain sometimes... Any other thoughts or opinions on this game? Would love to hear others thoughts/ Thanks

  16. Hi, I managed to pick up a pre-owned X-box and Gamecube from this coworker who has two young girls who apparently "never" play the systems that their father bought them. Of course I made her an offer and the kids couldn't wait to spend the money at a Wal-mart shopping spree!! So I got a almost brand new Xbox and Gamecube with the following games: X-box: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Sims Amped Gamecube: Sims Animal Crossing Lord of the Rings Super Smash Bros. Plus all connections and wires, each with one joystick and three memory cards for the GC.........all for $300!!!! Not bad......... What do you all think? And of course, some suggestions about games to get please... ....yes I've read the websites and their opinions of the 'best' games for each system, but I want to hear it from you all....the real game players! Thanks....later ant

  18. Hi all I recently played through Paper Mario on my 'new' used N-64 console and thouroughly enjoyed it!! What a great game!! !!! I couldn't play anything else until I finally completed it!! My question is are there any other similar games for the N-64? How about that Quest 64? I have the two Zelda games for the N-64 but haven't got into them yet. Thanks, ant

  20. Hi I am in the market for some new NES pin connectors for my NES. I did a quick Ebay search and I was looking for the GOLD connectors as someone mentioned in another post and here is what someone had said about them on Ebay: "These PREMIUM GRADE connectors will outlast the GOLD verisons. Gold 72-pin connectors are not as strong and the gold plating tends to flake off the connector pin. Basically gold connectors are the standard NES silver pin connectors that has been plated with a gold plating. Our connectors do not have this gold plating that wears off. We also use the redesigned pins that are a lot stronger." Can someone elborate on the different kinds of NES pin connectors? Is there any real difference in the following connectors: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4&category=3605 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5&category=3605 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8&category=3605 Thanks in advance I definetly need to get one of these, just not sure what type. ant
