  1. Hello Everyone! I placed an order for some stickers for my nieces B-Day party and couldn't resit ordering a bunch of Jaguar Stickers. If anyone wants some, I have two sizes available.  Pictures included  to show the scale. The large stickers has a glitter foils look, while the smaller sticker has a prismatic look. Thanks for taking a look!

So I was looking at BigPEmu on youtube and thought "oh wow a perfect Jag emu". I have Phoenix which runs very well on my PC. But when I try BigPEmu it's slow and the sound is jerky. I tried playing with the settings but to no avail. Does this emu simply have high system reqs?

Intel Core I5 and 8gb ram. I would think that's plenty for a Jaguar?

I run BIGPEmu on an Atari VCS in Windows/PC mode and its full speed, full compatability and even lets me do all the fun whiz bang overclocking stuff. Surely the VCS is less powerfull than your PC?

Well here ends my interest in BigPEMU. I wanted to play World Tour Racing, and Rich didn't see fit to test his emulator with the only ISO out there for everyone to enjoy for free in the collection of Jag CD images at archive.org. Why he chose to use some version nobody will ever find I will never know.

It is not on any of the other sites that have Jag CD individual ISO. Disappointed.

It took me literally two minutes, using google, to find a complete set of working Jag CD iso's Including two different ISO;s for World Tour Racing,

  4. The 8-Bit guy has a really cool game that is being ported to a bunch of platforms including the Amiga and Genesis. I wonder what it would take to port it over to the Jag? The controller would be a perfect for the control scheme and since the Jag shares a Processor with the Amiga and Genesis (68000) there is already some common ground there. He seems really open the sharing the source, I wonder if this would be an easy port or too much of a headache to bring it over to the Jag.

    Thoughts?

Yes, I've not posted it publicly as some of those with new units tend to ignore the instructions given to them and just download and try to use the old firmware and ask me why it fails. I'm trying to avoid this for the small percentage with the old carts. PM'd you a link.

I also would like the link to the latest firmware for my Jag SD. Thank you!

  6. Is there a decent replica of the Battlesphere box. I dont want to buy a repro, but I do want the box for display. I repeat...I am not advocating the piracy of this game, but the box looks so cool and Id love to at least be able to look at the empty box on the shelf.

Hey All! In a few weeks I'll be releasing my JAG2GEN Jaguar AV adapter. This adapter allows you to connect Sega Genesis (Model 2) AV cables to your Atari Jaguar. This provides a more common and readily available solution for connecting your Atari Jaguar to an SDTV or HDTV. The JAG2GEN works great with HD Retrovision cables (Genesis Model 2) and works even better with HD Retrovision cables connected to a scan converter like OSSC.

I've created a sign up list for anyone interest:
    https://www.humblebazooka.com/product/jag2gen-jaguar-av-to-genesis-cables/

    jag2gen_01.jpg

(pre-production shell subject to change upon release)

    Features:

    • Supports Genesis Model 2 AV cabes
    • Supports HD Retrovision cables
    • Allows you to use an OSSC or RetroTink to upscale for better video quality
    • Properly attenuated sync
    • Custom designed and professionally assembled PCB
    • Custom designed 3D printed shell

    FAQ:

    Q) What is the JAG2GEN?
    A) The JAG2GEN is an adapter that simply converts your Jaguar’s AV signal to that of a Genesis model 2 AV cable.

    Q) Will it make my picture quality look better
    A) Not by itself but the JAG2GEN captures your Jaguar’s RGB signals allowing a scan converter to make your Jaguar games look amazing.

    Q) Why not straight to HDMI?
    A) Converting and upscaling 240p signal from RGB requires a lot of development time in hardware and software, requiring hardware that would inflate the cost of this adapter to the end user. I wanted to develop something simple that anyone can afford and use.

    Q) Is this the same thing as Helder's "JAG2SNES" adapter?

    A) It's very similar and uses a similar circuit and components. The JAG2SNES was actually my idea I pitched to Helder who then made the PCBs. I designed the shell, did all the R&D testing, and we eventually got the adapter to market. I've learned from that experience and decided to make my own adapter and offer an option for people with Genesis model 2 AV cables.

    Q) Is this the same thing as Jody Hicks' (Judas-Prime) Jag AV adapters?
    A) Nope - same concept, different execution! This is a ground up solution I've developed. If you already own Jody's adapter, there's probably no reason to buy this if his performs how you want it to. I'm sure I don't need to tell you guys how awesome of a dude Jody is. But he openly endorsed Helder's and my JAG2SNES adapter via Twitter, which he didn't have to do.

I fully endorse this new adapter and its lower price point! I am retired from making 2jag adapters, so if you are on the fence about picking one of these up, dont be! I bought one and they are well made and the 3d print shell (which I normally despise) is very nice!

It won't power on. I suspect the power button is broken (it doesn't click down) as I spilled Mountain Dew on it in probably 1994 lol. I imagine that is pretty corrosive over the course of 27 years.

    Worth trying to fix?

Where are you located? I'll take a look at it for you if you like , no charge.

So I have question - how to convert AV yo HDMI?

If you can get your hands on one of my old Snes2Jag adapters you can use the Snes Rad2x from Retrogaming cables to output HDMI directly from the Jag. Snes Pound HDMI cables work as well as does the Hyperkin HDMI Snes cables.

    Rad2x Link https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/RAD2X-CABLES

Also if you go to Helders website you can buy the Jag2Snes which may work with the Rad2x as well...this is unconfirmed as i dont have a Helders Jag2Snes to test, but honestly there isnt that much to converting the Jag AV/RGB signals to a different output style (Snes, Genesis 2, etc.) so I expect this adapter to work with the Rad2x as well..but again I dont have one so Buyer beware.

Man this is a bummer.  I had the eBay alerts set up for gen2jag and snes2jag in like January at the latest, figure COVID delayed or cancelled things and that I should check the thread.  Crushed to find out I never got an email alert because they didn't survive 24 hours on eBay.  If anyone has moved to a different solution for cables and no longer needs theirs, I will gladly buy it from you.  Please send me a PM if this is you.

I dont make them anymore but if yougo to the provided link youcan buy one from Helder, at a great price I might add!

All my main Jag gaming is done through your adapter Judas-Prime; and it looks amazing.  Thanks again for all your efforts!

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you are enjoying the adapter!

@Judas-Prime Thank you for starting this years ago and providing all of us with your option. I know it was lots of work for little money. Well done!

Thank you ., I appreciate the kind words....It was my pleasure.

This all stated when I asked the HD Retrovision guys to make an adapter for the Jag...they said it wasn't worth the initial cost for them to make, I then tried to get Rene from the Retro Roundtable to make one... he showed some interest but never made anything. So, I started fiddling around with commonly found info about the Jag AV port and well.... the rest is history.

Im happy that Helder is making this new version and for a cheaper price he'll be able to reach far more people than I could due to my handmade process. I'll buy one of his after everyone else can grab them, just to support this new revision. I'll still make some oddball Jag av items from time to time just for fun. Im not going away, but honestly Helder can have the remaining Jag2Snes market share, I'm happy he will be able to serve more people.

    Cheers!

  13. Hello all! I just wanted to drop this link here. Since I wont be making anymore Snes2Jag adapters, it looks like Helder is making his own version!! So I highly encourage everyone to support Helder with his new product the Jag2Snes.

    https://www.heldergametech.com/shop/jaguar/jag2snes/

For the record, I have always wanted someone else to make a cheaper refined version of the Snes2Jag, Im glad its Helder and Im glad his prices are lower than mine. If you all still need a Snes Cable convertor for your Jag, then I highly recommend grabbing one from Helders store. I had fun over the lasts three years making mine and I appreciate all the support, but its time to let someone else carry the torch. I'm not affiliated with the Jag2Snes and make no money from their sales....but I wanted to throw my support out there for the product!

    Thanks Gang!
