SNES2JAG AV Converter Official Order List
Judas-Prime replied to Judas-Prime's topic in Atari Jaguar
YES! POUND HD cables work with the Snes2Jag.... However you have to power it via external power source. Snes2Jag also works with the RAD2X HDMI devices which also need an external power source. -
I used to make replacement buttons and a few different variations for d-pad/joysticks. I haven't noticed the diagonal issues though.

Hello sir! I received the SNES2JAG today and immediately began testing it. I am using my Jaguar SD to run IWAR and am not experience the issues that you showed previously. I don't think its your HDRetrovision cables either. Ive seen this with one other customer, they tried the adapter on multiple Jaguars and were able to resolve it by using a different Jag. I test my Snes2Jags on type M and Type K Jaguars revisions across four different Jaguars and cannot replication this issue. Obviously it's not an optimal solution to say a "Use a different Jaguar", nor is it acceptable as a solution for me. So, if you-want a full refund I will more than happily provide you one. I do have one last thing we could try. I made a few newer snes2jag just for my own use...this new model grabs the 5 volts the DSP edge connector and does not use the 5 volt regulator. I would be curious if this resolves your issue as the grounding sources are also slightly different. This model also provides enough power to power the Rad2X HDMI adaptor. I can send you this new version (I pay shipping) and we can see if this resolves you issue. if so, you keep the new one and we can close the return on ebay. If this does not solve the issues we can discuss a refund or other methods to resolve this to your satisfaction. Thoughts? -

Ive sent you the return information Via Ebay, please send the Snes2Jag back to me and I'll investigate. If i cannot resolve the issue I will happily give you a full refund or send the device back to you ... your choice. Ive seen this issue before and was unable to determine the cause, but at the end of the day, your happoiness is what matters to me so Ill take care of this issue. -
I like owning the game, in spite of its quality. I like what I like and I don't need to justify my personal tastes to anyone.

Anyone know of an acrylic box protector for White Men Can't Jump with the team tap? I got a mint CIB sealed in plastic copy and I'd like it to stay that way FOREVER!!!! And before anyone says anything.... I know the game is trash.... but its Mint trash.

Thanks for the feedback! Im glad you are happy with the Snes2Jag. The entire point of making it was to make something so people can either use cables they all-ready have (Snes cables) or other options as they become available. and that Jag S-Video is VERY clean.... im interested in your opinion after you try the HD Retrovison cables tho. Thanks Again! -

Awesome I'm glad you are enjoying the SNES2JAG. Jaguar S-VIDEO is a pretty clean signal. Most cables do not need the 5 volts from the 7805 Voltage regulator I install in the Snes2jag.... I recommend leaving the switch to On because the VAST majority of people will be using your standard composite/ s-video cables or HDRetrovision cables. The only use case is if you want to use a RAD2X or Pound HDMI Cable. those need external power and in my testings supplying A RAD2X with BOTH power sources ( 5 volts fromt eh jag and 5 volts from an external source) caused significant noise in the video signal...plus Im not sure how safe that is for the RAD2X. So I added the switch literally as a fail safe for people that want to use the RAD2X. You are safe to leave it in the on position for any other standard cables even thous those cables don't actually use the power source. now that i think about it you only need to turn it to ON when using HD Retrovision cables, but its safe to leave it there. -

This was my practice box...to learn how I wanted to wire up the Snes2Jag and Gen2Jag. I don't use it at all, its just one in the long line of prototypes on my way to make something super small and reproducible. Its a One Off and mostly done for laughs. -

Or.... you could make one of these monstrosities and have literally EVERY output you could want.....well except VGA.... I suppose there is still room for that to be added. -

The Audio pinouts are 1a and 1b. If you can grab those signals from the shielded side of capacitor L17 and L18 located right behind the metal shield in the-back of the Jag and wire them up to a 3.5mm stereo jack then grab any ground and you should be good to go. Maybe replace the RF unit with your Audio jack for a nice no-cut mod. -

RAD2X Mod. So in order to use a SNES RAD2XS with your Snes2Jag you will need to Mod the RAD2X. Simply Pry open your RAD2X with a guitar pick or some other edged item. On the "Bottom" part of the clear case you will see a small tab. This tab is what covers up the micro USB port. Mine is already modded but you can see where the tab will be, I'm pointing to it with a screwdriver in the third picture below. Using some clippers, snip the plastic tab off of the bottom. Resemble the RAD2X by snapping the bottom back on and you are good to go! -

The mod is Necessary as the Jag AV output does not properly power the Rad2x. The power coming out of the Jag's AV edge connector is enough to power the HD Retrovision cables, but not the RAD2X. I included a power switch so users can shut off the Power from the Jag when externally powering their RAD2X or Pound HDMI cable. -

I can save you some time. There are no real components other than a voltage regulator. Other than that its an edge connector from digikey, The SNES AV board from Oshpark and a perfboard for structural / mechanical purposes and lots of tiny wires soldered by hand. This version has a tiny switch that allows you to not use the Jags power source, useful if you want to use the RAD2X...Which you also need to modify by cutting a small plastic piece off to allow external power. Ill post pics of the RAD2X mod to show people what to do. its super easy.... -

Your New Snes2Jag features a Power Switch The On Position is when the Switch is moved to the “Right” The OFF position is when the switch is moved to the “Left” Use Cases If using a Snes HDMI Solution (Pound, RAD2X) that requires external power, then turn the SNES2JAG power switch to OFF. This Switch should be in the ON position for using all other cables including HD Retrovision cables. -

Also Completely unrelated.... but this spray paint is an incredibly close match to the Jag grey plastic coloring. If you ever need to color match the Jag...for what ever reasons.... this is the stuff i would recommend.... I used it on my Snes2Jag Double Wide and its a damn near perfect match. Vallejo Hobby Paint Panzer Grey . -

One update to this batch of Snes2Jag's is the addition of a power switch. Flipping the switch with deactivate the power from the Jaguar that is used to power the HD Retrovision cable. Why you ask? well, I wanted to offer support for RAD2X Snes HDMI devices and the Jag would not power the device itself. BUT you can modify the SNES RAD2X to accept external power by snipping off a little piece of plastic allowing you to use a micro USB cable to power the RAD2X with an external source. The switch ensures that you are not feeding power to the RAD2X from two different sources which caused noticable interference with teh video signal, and im sure it wasnt good for the RAD2X either. Better safe than sorry. Its not necessary and may not be something the vast majority of users will use, but I wanted to offer the option with no markup to the price. The switch will come set to the "front" or "ON" position to provide power to HD Retrovision cables. I just wanted to provide this bit of info ahead of the Listing going live. -

Since my Snes2Jag listing is going live this Friday at 1:00PST. I decided to make something for myself. I actually don't even have a Snes2Jag of my own. I usually sell them all to others. This is just a Snes2Jag Double Wide that uses the 5volt vcc from the DSP card edge connector which eliminates the need for a voltage regulator.Other than that its pretty much identical to the standard Snes2Jag.
